Akame ga Kill became one of the most controversial anime of 2014 soon after its airing of episode 19 due to various changes made in the adaption. One can view this change as positive, negative, or neutral, but did this change really made that much of an impact on the story overall? Not so much.
The story of Akame ga Kill begins with a boy going on a journey, seeking a way to help his hometown to get out of poverty.Wait, where have I heard this before? boy and journey? Yes, you are right, this is your typical shounen anime, or is it? First of all,
...
the plot of this story is much darker than a typical shounen anime. This show mainly focuses on the corruption of the kingdom and the attempt to fix the problem by a group of assassins known as the "Night Raid". So obviously this show would be filled with gores and violence, and most of it are actually necessary to show the ill-nature of the people and the world. However, there are some gore scenes where you would find it completely unneeded. As far as the story goes, there is not much to say, it is not a show where the plot will blow your mind away and leave you wanting for more. It is quite the opposite, this show is plain and simple, they fight to death, and whoever lives at the end wins. So there will be a lot of blood sheds and deaths coming your way if you decide to watch this show.
This show does not have the best character developments. Mainly due to that it skipped on a lot of materials and rushed towards the end. However, that does not mean that there was not any character developments. The main character Tatsumi, for instance, went through multiple traumas in his time with the Night Raid and really developed an identity by the end of the series. There are also many minor character developments, such as Esdeath, a blood hunger Kirito-type overpowered character, developed feelings that she had never experienced before. Overall, there are some really likeable characters in this series but due to their lack of developments, they will often be forgotten. So you will likely be disappointed if you are really looking forward to some intriguing characters.
From my previous writing you will probably think this show is not worth a watch, but don't get me wrong, despite the unfulfilled story and the lack of character developments, there is still a reason to watch this show. The action in this anime is not all half bad, there are some decent fight scenes and the art and animation are decent for the most part for a not so high budget anime, and most importantly, it gets better towards the end. Also the soundtrack in this series is also pretty neat, not the best of the season but it is enjoyable in the very least.
To be able to enjoy this anime, you just have to simply give a try and decide for yourself. As controversial as it may be, personally, that is what actually made me want to watch this series to the end, and I can least say that I liked it. Sure, it wasn't anything close to a fantastic series, but it is one of those series where you can at least keep one eye open throughout.

OreImo, the title can be intimidating because it does sound wrong. Before I had started watching the series I held back a bit because of the title, i had no interest in watching an anime with such plot. When I actually started watching the first season, it wasn't what I had expected, which was incest, but as the story progressed, it did sort of get there.
However, before everything came down to these last three episodes, this anime did a pretty good job at staying off the incest route through most of the episodes in the previous seasons.
To start the series, the anime was more focused
...
on their sibling relationship between Kirino and Kyouske, although there might have been hints that shows Kirino is somewhat interested in her own brother, but it shouldn't be accounted for as incest. It's normal to have some sibling bonding, there's nothing wrong with that.
As story progressed on, and more girls started to come into the pictures, things did get heat up a bit. Which is what we saw in 2nd season.
Coming into this three episodes finale, I knew what was coming but I wasn't going to accept their relationship, or I thought I wasn't.
After watching the final three episodes, however improbable, the story was able to convince me to accept it. But it just had too many up and downs in these last episodes, the way the plot was constructed was just awkward for me. We were given the answer right off the bat, which made things lot less interesting. ( But I feel for Kuroneko, felt so bad for her) But they did do a decent job to provide some warmhearted scenes to lessen the tension as well as to gain viewer's acceptance and sympathy.
Overall, I did enjoy the finale. To me personally, IT DID ACCOMPLISH what it intended to do right from the start of 1st season, which is to have Kirino and Kyouske to develop a deeper bond as siblings, NOT AS LOVERS, although they did took it that far. Eventually they did went back to normal. WHICH MADE MANY PEOPLE GO CRAZY and start giving crap rating and rants everywhere the week after its being aired xD But I thought it gave a pretty decent conclusion to a rather enjoyable series, I will miss this show :P

Out of all the animes that I've watched, Guilty Crown left me with the deepest impression. I've hesitated quite a bit on whether to watch this or not over a year ago.Only months after watching this anime that I realized how much I loved this anime. and it is now my favorite all time. I've re-watched it many times since, which is why i became so familiar with this anime to understand the beauty of this anime as well as its downside.
...
Story (7)- The main plot of this anime and the story overall is where many people had a tough time with. Many parts of this anime is indeed very similar to Code Geass and Gurren lagann. The main protagonist finds himself got into a mess and gained rare power, and finds a group with capable friends and their story goes on...not to mention their 2nd arc of the story all very similar to each other, almost identical in storyline other than different twists and main plot&theme. Some think it failed to deliver and some think it delivered just fine, and i was one of them. Also many people had a problem with the ending, whether its that they didn't get it or that they think they got it but just didn't like it or just don't know what in the world is going on like me, when i watched it the first time. But after watching the animes multiple times months later, I understood just about 99% of it. I did provide my understanding to the ending in the "Episode 22 discussion" thread around #930's and as well in the "What really happened in GC" thread around #30's, both are the same.
Art (9)- Production I.G did a great job on animation as always, the art was consistent throughout the series, and it definitely played a huge part of this anime, as to why many people came to watch this anime, and many disappointments came afterwards according to MAL.
Sound (10)- Not much to say here, it is pretty unanimous that the majority of the people, whether they liked or disliked the anime, the music is a top tier. Especially Chelly and Egoist, their music style is really unique and awesome in my opinion.
Character (6)- Guilty Crown does not have the greatest characters, I didn't really give a crap about any of them other than Inori. I love Inori, really enjoy seeing her every episodes although the end was unfortunate.
Enjoyment (8)- This anime was very enjoyable, it kept me awake throughout its 22 episodes except in 22 and part of 21 my heart just kind of shattered into pieces.
Overall (9)- I had originally given this a 8, but after watching it many times and became my favorite all time, I thought might as well be biased and give it a 9.
I don't encourage you to watch this with a load of negative feelings about it, because apparently majority of the MAL people dislikes this or even "hate it", so disregard all the negative comments and give this a try, it's unbelievably easy to get into because of the music in the first few episodes and its animation. So give it try if you haven't already, be it good or bad it all varies in different people. But I did find that most girls tend to like this anime, while most guys are the ones giving the negative feedback. Night~
