10/10. The first masterpiece score i've ever given out in anime.
This anime blew me away. I've always looked at anime as a medium that breaks barriers of entertainment that can only be broken in the medium of anime. Vivid colors, over the top action, ethically wrong jokes, morally wrong stereotypes, are a few things to me is what makes anime entertaining. Making ubelievable works of unrealisitc fiction very cool is anime in a nutshell in my opinion. This is what anime excels at.
Chi is different. There aren't any stereotypes, there are no jokes, there is no comic
...
relief, there are no harems, there is no big boobed woman, there is no fan service, there is no over powered protaganist and in fact there is no main character. There are no odd looking children nor adults. The story takes an ultra serious tone in everything it does and this tone does not break for a single second which in my opinion over 25 episodes is quite insane in the medium of anime. However it pulls it off effortlessly. I believe this was a risk but it was worth it.
The first truly original anime of this season and probably the last 5 years. It takes an idea that almost everyone in the world knows and tells the story in breathtaking fashion. I've read other reviews that say that everyone knows that the earth revolves around the sun and to repeat this is just boring. However those people obviously missed the point. Chi could have been made with any idea that was considered blaphemy in the middle ages. That is not what this story is about. The story is about how ideas that were condemned by religion, genuine science based theories and how it took generations of persecution, tortue, brutality, wars, and deaths for a single idea to become common knowledge.
People were burned on a stick and tortured to death because of the simplest ideas in which we consider common knowledge these days. Chi tells the story about how these ideas became to be and the pursuit of truth and science in the times when these ideas were considered heretical. People hung onto hope and curiosity and prevailed. This is a story that usually would be made into a movie and never before Chi would I have ever thought it would be a good idea for an anime.
Chi is a work of fiction, it is an anime not to be compared with historical accuracy. There are a few historical figures but this is not what the story is about. Anyone who brings up historical accuracy has also missed the point as i said earlier this is a work of fiction and the story is about how it took generations to overcome persecution of knowledge that we take for granted. People died for these ideas. In this context Chi is historically accurate. Many people died and were tortured for ideas that went against religion.
Chi is not your typical anime. You will not be blown away from the action, the soundtrack, the characters, the colors, the animation nor anything typical of anime in this day and age. The message, the story, the realistic approach, the idea and the way it was told through many peoples eyes without any protaganist is simply genuis. There is no anime to compare this too and this is why i give it the 10 score.

Not sure why this show gets so much hate.
I mean how do you watch 5 seasons and a movie then rate it a 2-4....let's say maybe you liked 4 seasons and just wanted to watch the 5th season if it absolutely sucked which a score of 2 to me would be comparable to one of the worst shows ever made or eating a shit sandwich. I don't care if I had 4 steak sandwiches in a row if someone fed me a shit sandwich I would stop eating it.
I call bullshit on these scores. From a scoring perspective who watches a show that they
...
think is absolute crap. I'd watch a show maybe if it was a 5...that's a big maybe... anything less I would put down right away just like a shit sandwich.
Now for the review lol. The shows not the best but it's not the worst. Its a bit better than average. It does everything mediocre except for the story and character design in my opinion. The characters are original, and have depth. Each one experiences a lot of character development over the 5 seasons. The story reminds me of a pure fantasy story. Like a fairytale out of a story book with lots of twists, turns, and with lots of emotion. Albeit they do use the same techniques and ideas over again as plot devices. However almost all longer animes they do this maybe just not as much.
More than the fairytale story that it first seems like and Many people view it as, I view this as one long love story which isn't mentioned much here but that's what this show is from beginning to end. A story of a boy for 3000 years goes on an adventure to save a cursed girl which is the one and only love of his life.
This season shows the conclusion of the boys adventure and ends the story of the boy and the girl. That's how I viewed the entire 5 seasons and from this perspective the show is really moving and a fun watch.

This show deserves more credit. Here's why I rate it 7.5/10
I love anime. As a medium anime is able to push the boundaries of imagination and creativity with unrealistic plots, characters and themes and bring it all together to create great entertainment. Some anime are animated very well. Some are overly colorful. Some use all sorts of stereo types and tropes which would be ethically wrong in any other genre.
A variety of variable can make anime a great form of entertainment. That being said so many anime follow the same formula. Main characters that are either over powered or gradually gets stronger. The
...
main characters personality is confident or shy and hates themself. I'm quite tired of seeing the same thing being made with the exact same colors, same characters, following the exact same formula of overcoming weakness or battling through a heard of bosses one after another and everyone survives happily ever after.
Momentary Lily is entertaining in different ways. First the animation of the characters is great. Not the same 2d animation you see on every anime. While I'm not a fan of CG the way the characters are animated is amazing. Each strand of hair blows different ways. Parts of their clothes flow fluidly. There boobs sway omni directional. I've seen worse boob sway in real porn with girls with bad boob jobs. This is accompanied by the bad camera angles the studio is known for however it works in this anime because the characters are animated so well that it ends up looking pretty cool when the camera is twirling around up, then down and you see hair and boobs flop in all different directions, accompanied with the over the top colors that blind you. All the bad things the studio is known for actually work because of the character animation. I'm pretty sure that's not what they were thinking but it turned out very cool.
The story itself is not bad. I wouldn't say it's the most amazing story ever told but it's quite original. Without any spoilers it does come together at the end.
To me it's all about the entertainment value. Watching a group of girls with cyberpunk weapons flying and flipping around. Each with different colors and different boob sway screaming all sorts of weird shit, battling robots that look like an electric frisby with legs, then using a pot to cook a meal after for no reason is weird, hilarious, and fun to watch. I can nitpick about the camera about plot holes, about shadows, but I don't care about those things. I don't watch an anime to complain about a camera angle or complain about how unrealistic it is that's what documentaries and movies are for.
I recommend it as a watch as a form of entertainment, an unrealistic story, with unrealistic characters, using unrealistic weapons, battling the stupidest looking robots, with over the top action, great character animations, crazy camera angles, while screaming useless banter results in something you can't take your eyes way from.

Not great not bad. Somewhere along the lines of slightly better than average is what I felt about this anime
I watched girls band cry right after watching it's Mygo!!!!! And the sequel Ave Mujica. Simply put it was like watching a copy of its Mygo!!!!! but not as good. This review is going to be a direct comparison as I can't think of two animes that are so similar.
They are so similar that the entire time It felt as i was watching the same anime but with different characters, settings, and different problems. Both animes first and foremost fall into the
...
category of drama and music. Both animes feature dysfunctional bands which argue amongst each other. Both animes focus on the character dynamics and relationships with each other. Both animes have the girls carry different problems. Both animes aren't the typical happy girls band cgdct anime. They focus on the characters and problems amongst them.
In all honesty if I hadn't watched it's Mygo!!!! And it's sequel Ave, I would have rated Girls Band Cry higher as then I would've thought that there aren't many girls band animes which focus on the characters and the darker tone, and the problems that each individual carries. However this wasn't the case and I had just came off of watching a better version.
To top it all off both animes animation are completely done in CG. Like come on lol. This happens a lot in anime where one studio creates an anime and another studio creates an extremely similar anime. I'm not a fan of CG in fact I used to despise it, however over the years CG with technology has gotten better but if you were to compare the CG of its Mygo!!!!! To Girls Band Cry the former definitely crushes the latter.
Some people may like the CG where it doesn't look like anime where it looks sort of fake. Unfortunately I am not a fan of that that CG. It's Mygo!!!!! produced the CG on a level where at times it looked like anime animation and I could not tell the difference, in fact I did not find out until after watching the show that it was all CG that's how good it was. Girls Band Cry from episode 1 I could tell it was CG, it has cringe worthy CG and I didn't get used to it until almost episode 12. So it definitely falls short in this category for me.
Overall story is good however I just watched an anime that had an extremely similar story. I give equal scores to both stories.
Overall characters are good except I just watched an anime with similar characters. In this regard I would say the characters are equally likeable as well.
Music...this is also the same and what annoyed me the most about this is the fact both MC's create and sing music in the exact same manner. They create music that's about their problems, struggles, and the screams within their hearts. The music they create in both animes is literally created from the truth and hardships, and emotions within each MC. The music in both is incredible.
Conclusion.
The anime felt like I just watched a reskin of its Mygo. Dont make my mistake and watch one after the other or you will end up disappointed. My rating for this anime reflects this. It would be rated higher if not. Now if your going to choose which one to watch take this with a grain of salt
In my opinion characters equally likeable, music equally good, story, Mygo is set in a city with most of the environment being school, studio, someone's house and is about highschool girls that cope with real world problems and internal relationships. Girls Band Cry is set in Tokyo and actually has more variety in settings and is about high school girl dropouts and adults that cope with real world problems. The pacing in Mygo is better for sure. The problems they face are different but similar in severity. The CG hands down goes to Its Mygo. The music is very subjective and both have great music.

Why I give this show a 8/10
The freaking fight scenes on par with the best and might even be the best.
People have criticism about the story? I've never heard of you. Have you ever written a better story...NO you haven't...then I IDGAF about your opinion.
Is it completely original...NO
Is it a good story...Yes
Currently there's around 15000-20000 animes that have been created. To create something truly original and different all the while having a coherent progressive story is almost impossible. Every year there's maybe 1 anime that is truly original and good. The other truly original titles that come out every year are ultra
...
artsy, incomprehensible and hard to watch unless your high as a kite.
So if your going to nitpick about originality...sorry to say I don't think anime in general is your cup of tea. I've been watching anime since the early 90s in Japan I've seen the originality dissipate into the abyss of your nose hairs.
Solo Leveling is good, the direction keeps you on the edge of your seat. It excels at action. The story told may not be original but how it's directed keeps you on edge wanting more.
All I have to say is that if you like very fluid animation, ultra intense action scenes, paired with a dark, gritty and mysterious plot and atmosphere you should like this anime.
In the action genre it's one of the best of the year.

I put this show on the back burner as the title just sounded like the most generic and boring anime. "Reborn as the 7th prince..." this title alone doesn't scream originality at all and made me think they are really running out of ideas if you have to choose the 7th prince because they already made the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and so on.
Like usual I ignored reviews and synopsis as I've watched over a few hundred animes that I just go by picture and title now. Yes I have no life.
Surprisingly this anime was entertaining. Aside from the boring title I did
...
not expect over the top action, bright colors, and comedy. If you like action, boobs, comedy and magic then watch it. Don't expect an original story, a masterpiece, nor something that touches your heart. This paragraph sums this anime up. Short and sweet.
Have fun.

When a solid shit turns into diarrhea....
That is this anime.
This anime had potential. I started watching the anime without reading a synopsis or looking at reviews. I'm a fan of isekai anime. I just call it fantasy anime, they all fall under the same umbrella
For 3 quarters of the anime it has potential to be something different like KFC's two dollar Tuesdays except on a Wednesday. It started off focusing on how magic is created from scratch like the itch on my back I can't reach without a scrunchy. It has the makings of something great. Then all of a
...
sudden it felt like the anime shoved a crap sandwich down my throat without being able to regurgitate it back.
Making magic from scratch...cool. The quasi science and education of how magic is made...pretty cool. The story up until now focuses on magic creation, and inventing magic devices using the knowledge he previously had in his past life as a 30 year old japanese man. Then around episode 8 or 9 the anime completely goes in another direction. It shoves all of it down the drain and begins a battle with the last boss with no explanation. Fox news during the elections gives better reasons for recounts.
Spoiler alert. From around episode 9 this is what happens. All the magic creations and story up to this point becomes null and void. Out of no where a demon is released by unknown means after a thousand years. The main character who was reincarnated from a Japanese 30 year old man is suddenly the descendant of a thousand year old race of magic users. The demon is killed due to the main character also being part fairy and has fairy blood running inside him. The villagers all become sick. He spends over 2 years trying to cure the sickness. At this point I thought to myself this could be salvaged like my broken MacBook from watching too much porn. However that feeling instantly became regret like the used condom in the dumpster after finishing in a minute.
Instead of building upon the theme of making magic and using ingenuity and trial and error while creating new magic and magical devices. It turns out for two years the only thing he was missing was more magic power. After he defeats the demon with his fairy blood his magic power is in exact words from the anime "100 times the amount it was previously."
I was blown away like Donald Trump's hair in the wind. He then cures the sickness...roll credits...curtain call...wtf just happened I thought as i sat in my room dwelling in my own pity and shame. Kill me now.
