I'll keep it quick and simple. It's a funny premise with a pretty average execution for a rom-com. The animation is decent enough, though Rin's expressions are especially well done, even in just her natural state.
However, this romcom is not, in fact, any other rom-com. They casted Hayami Saori to voice the Ron. That's it. That's all it takes for this forgettable and average anime to become a memorable piece of adorable entertainment. It cannot be overstated how talented Hayami is. She was given the incredible ask of playing a character specifically meant to have a good voice, good acting, and good voice control. Hayami
...
took that and proceeded to literally match and somehow go beyond what was expected from this already impossible task. Her voice is a blessing upon us all and it's well worth watching just to admire how incredibly gifted she is. She single handedly carries this entire anime and whoever knew to cast her as Rin deserves a raise. Best casting decision of the season. It just goes to show what good talent does, and how a story can be elevated when the talent matches the vision of the characters.

An unknown anime that is just a cute script of gag comedy. It's by the generally chibi-style PuYUKAI, which makes me really admire they're effort to make a full length non-chibi style anime. It's done well enough. The humor is nothing crazy, but you'll get a few laughs here and there is you let yourself go with the flow. It's by no means a hidden gem, but I really appreciate it's unique asthetic and character dynamics. Also +1 point for that absolute BANGER opening. It's a cute adult anime to just relax to and play in the background or if you don't want a lot
...
of emotional investment. Overall a perfectly fine anime by a studio trying to expand in a unique way, which I extremely love.

I was about to join the other haters, saying this anime is incomplete, incoherent, and just plain unoriginal, but then it hit me. This is just one of those anime you're not supposed to take seriously. You can judge all you'd like on how the plot is barebones and the cgi is unnatural at best, but if you're able to just keep it in the background, laugh at the few jokes, and look at the honestly kinda sick visuals when there's a fight, you have yourself a good distraction for a couple hours. Don't watch this if you want a serious killing anime. Go watch
...
Mirai Nikki instead, but if you want some mindless violence and ooh ahhh visuals, well just keep an open mind. It's of course not a good anime, but that doesn't mean it deserves to be ridiculed to the ground. Take this anime like it takes itself: not seriously. That's all

I feel the need to step in here and actually give Cramer credit where credit is due.
First of all, though, Cramer is definitely not making any lists or anything, but there are special places where it truly shines when you really think about the story happening in the background here. The label may say shounen, but this is not a regular ol' "underdog wins because op MC" shounen. This is a story about feelings and dealing with hopelessness. It's something completely different than what everyone expected and probably wanted, honestly.
Also, before advancing further: Yes yes, you can go all day about Your Lie in
...
April blah blah blah, but we're all tired of it at this point. Different stories should stay separate end of story. Stop comparing them just cuz they are connected by a name.
Cramer has its weak points, mainly in pacing and how it presents character backstories, which, sure are a bit annoying, but they don't lessen the point of the story drastically. Animation struggles in places and scene cuts can feel awkward. There are ultimately polishing issues that have to do with the animation studio more than anything.
HOWEVER, if you take a step back and think for a second about what the team represents, then you get a completely different story. This is a realistic team. This is a team that is supposed to be you. It is not a story about soccer. It's a story about you, and everyone else. When you walk away from this anime, you do not take the delight of a power fantasy. You take the suffering of reality. Not every story is about how if you're cool and op enough, you'll get anything you want, and this is an example of that. This story is about the beginning of you. That's why you'll feel so empty and bitter throughout and at the end of this anime. It did its job, and that's why I love it
Honestly, in many ways, it does resemble Your Lie in April, just in a new perspective.
All in all, if you just want a funny little shounen soccer anime to feel good about yourself, don't watch Cramer. You won't enjoy it. This story is meant to be layered behind its hard exterior, and it's up to you, the viewer, if you wish to see the ugliness of sports and life.

Even despite how Japanese-centered the comedy is, even if you can understand most of the jokes and gags, the fact of the matter is that Teppen !x15 is simply not that funny. It has funny moments, and the characters are slightly unique, but the jokes in this anime are not what you'd expect from "professional" comedians even though we're expected to believe they're the best of the best and the audience is supposedly laughing along with you as the story plays out. There were a few good gags and jokes, sure, of course there were, but any semi-decent slice of life has some comedy bits
...
here and there. I felt more obligated to laugh at parts than actually naturally laugh. Unlike something like Joshiraku where we laugh because of the characters' developments on the side of their profession, Teppen !x15 is literally about their comedy, which brings in even higher expectations, yet fails to deliver. Also, the whole actual driving plot was totally left on the side which was a real shame. Honestly, this anime had so much potential, but went in a completely wrong direction.
All in all, it's a comedy anime that focuses on top-notch comedy, yet doesn't get any funnier than your average rom-com. You're better off watching Joshiraku even if you don't understand the jokes because at least most of the setups are somewhat decent. Or better yet, just watch an actual funny gag anime like Asobi Asobase and Joushikousei no Mudazukai. It should honestly be labled more as a CGDCT and leave it at that. The girls are cute and fun, but that's about it.
As a side note, I have to say that the visuals for the OP were absolutely stunning. It's weird because it's not super flashy or has crazy effects, but seeing how they animated the girls and backgrounds was just so pleasing to look at. I watched the OP every single episode and partially finished the anime at all just to keep looking at the OP. The song itself isn't anything crazy either. I've seen worse, but it's not playlist-breaking either. 8/10 on the OP for sure (only -2 cuz song)
Overall, 4/10 for being somewhat average, but failing to adhere to the expectations of the main focus of the entire story, comedy.
