I have to say Reborn is one of the mangas I've liked the most out of the many I've read. What I liked the most, and the reason why I even started reading it is because of the genre shift that made Reborn so famous, and it's something really amazing. It really shows you how the story grows and changes from the original lighthearted and quirky gag manga to a darker and more action based version with great characters and developtment.

Tsuna is one of my favorite characters in all of manga because of his growth from a shy, insecure and cowardly boy into ... a....braver version of himself, he's still pretty shy at the end but he's more open about speaking his opinion and isn't as much of a coward as he was before.

The fights were great, though they started to pile up. This relates to the plot. For example, in the Kokuyo arc after the shift the fights are in a realistic level with some few points that sound too weird to be true as more supernatural stuff are added into the mix.

What I liked most about that arc is how everything in the gag portion seemed to come together to the final fight against Mukuro which showed just how much Tsuna had really grown.

As the story went on and the arcs came out Reborn began to escalate and create its own little plot, and this is both good and bad. While the fights start off with few things that are out of this world it eventually gets even more complex as the story unfolds, it's not like it was bad but there came a point where you just didn't know where it was going to go.

This was more evident in the last few arcs, with each of the arcs starting out as the most amazing thing that would happen and ending up in a sort of rushed conclusion or as a dragged out fight, of course that's probably due to the fact that reading it week to week caused the fights to grow old even if they were pretty good.

What I think the problem was is that Reborn tried to bite a lot more than it could chew and when it was finally time to close all the ties it didn't know how to. I also didn't like how it ended very much because it felt like the author just wanted to go back to gag because she didn't know how to end th emanga properly, so in the end we came full circle, except that Tsuna seemed to have forgotten everything he learned.

It's true that Nisekoi isn't exactly original when compared to the other harems and romances, but there is something that's unique about it. Yes, it's nonsensical at times and it can get kind of silly but that's part of what i enjoy, I like the way the art shifts depending on how the characters feel and react.

The story is simple but I like the way it develops, especially since we don't really know which one of the 3 out of 4 girls is actually the girl that Raku made a promise with (though, as it normally happens in harems, the writer found a ... way to self that plot for the moment) and I also like how the other members of his harem are introduced gradually rather than in one fell swoop, with the harem being completed almost 40 chapters into the story.

The characters have great personalities that aren't just simple cliches, they each have a backstory and attitude that you will like (or hate, that's your choice, I like them all!) as well as having their own silly quirks that'll make you laugh.

But it isn't just the characters in the harem but the ones out of it as well, a lot of other characters have their moments of glory and funny that at times makes them better than the mains themselves.

I liked Naoki's art since Double Arts but I really like Nisekoi because of how fluent it is, I also like all the different art shifts that he makes which can help the mood of the chapters very very much.

When I read the first chapter of this manga I felt kind of happy with myself, even if it was some run of the mill shonen manga I was happy because it was...classic in a way, it's something we don't get anymore cause everyone else wants more complexed stories and settings. I knew there were going to be fights so I had a lot of hope on it.

But it never got off the ground. For this kinds of manga the speed in which the plot moves is vital to whether they live or die, that's why most shonen manga tend to have a ... first arc that develops quickly, but not only do the fights get more boring every time but they also get pretty useless, like I can think of only 3 fights that actually helped the plot move.

The main character was funny to me at first but for some reason he started to become more of a sue with every chapter that came out and what's more is that all this did was degrade from the story with the already slow moving plot.

The rest of the cast of characters were average, with none of them really getting much chance in the spotlight in order for the main character to learn something new about the world or beat some guy's teeth in.

Artwise....I give it a 6, it just wasn't my cup of tea, it had great art at some points and it seemed sloppy at others, plus the way the characters were drawn might've been unique, but...it felt like something only a rookie would draw (I'm no artist but I know people that draw better than that)
