Date A Live

The whole idea of dating girls and getting a kiss from them in order to free them from a burden brings Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai to mind. However, the whole idea of girls in Mecha armor should be an obvious hint that it's nowhere near close to what we though it would be. I'd have to say that what made this anime enjoyable was the balance between comedy and plot. It wasn't too serious and at the same time, it wasn't too comedic. The amount of fanservice here was average for a new anime (In this century at least). What captivated me the most

Seiken no Blacksmith

The current score for this anime is harsh (6.99). This was one series that deserved to be stretched to double the amount of episodes it has. Sure, the series was rushed but it has more character development than any other long anime series I've seen. Although short, they showed a lot of character development in the main characters (Particularly Luke Ainsworth). I admit that I am a fanboy when it comes to Medieval setting and Holy references. But many modern day anime lack what this anime has. Jealousy is a very common factor in modern day anime and I saw no hint of jealousy here.

It's nice to have a little special in the original Naruto anime now and then. This one had a nice ring to it. I find the genie concept really humurous. This special is almost equivalent to the holy grail war from the Fate/Stay Night series only with Naruto characters. We see a little bit of character development behind the characters here (i.e. What they wish for). The subtitles were poorly edited but even if it had subtle subtitles, the results of this review would be the same. The results of this review: The special was phenomonal!

Shingetsutan Tsukihime

Definitely the best Vampire theme anime that I've ever watched. Other Vampire themed anime can't compete with this. Tsukihime had great soundtracks and great moments! To be honest, I became a little teary eyed at around the ending (Won't tell why or else I've spoiled it for the first time watchers.) Most people say that the plot is slow but I disagree, it gets right to the point. You can compare this with Vampire Knight and see a couple of similarities between the two but Vampire Knight gets boring. Maybe the reason why I fail to see why Vampire Knight is really good is because

Gun Blaze West
(Manga)
add
It was a nice concept that they used with the West rather than go with your generic Japanese setting. A goal is enough to power someone's life. The very same can be said about this story. Gun Blaze West focuses on only one true path. It may have been a short series with a disappointing discontinued ending but Gun Blaze West forever takes us to the place we've always dreamt of going to. And it gives us a strong realization to embrace our goals. One that is as strong as that of the main character's, Viu Bannes.

It's quite certain that Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai fans with the K-ON fan spirit within them would jump for joy if they saw this OVA. But K-ON doesn't have what this Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai OVA has: Comedy and Romance.
The concept was quite excellent. And at the end credits, I actually wished that they would continue this OVA as a mini series in the anime. There were so many things that they could've done with the characters. Thanks for taking the time for reading this first-time reviewer's review and have a good day! |
