Another dark magical girl anime with girl vs girl action, blood and sacrifice. Both have compelling plots and a lot going for them. Though they are both along the lines of magical girl tragedy each offers a unique twist. Day Break Illusion explores manipulating the magic if tarot cards while Magical Girl Rising Project explores the possibility that not only can little girls become magical girls, but full grown women, and even men can as well! I love both and reccomend either full-heartedly.

Kiniro Mosaic

Both are Slice of Life anime about cute girls and their experiences. The manga from both series are from sister publications, so before Kiniro aired, Yuyushiki did small references in magazines and art referencing it. Now that Yuyushiki has ended and Kiniro is airing, Kiniro makes small references to the other in the show!

Both involve a Magical Girl awakening to the power of cards and the main characters in both are sweet, kind-hearted girls who aim to be helpful in the loss of their mothers. Both series also share very impressive and original art. Their styles are not similar to each other, but they are both very well done for their respective time periods.

Mahou Shoujo of the End

Both are about seriously messed up magical girls with a hidden agenda. Kazumi Magica is a bit light-hearted as Mahou Shoujo of the Dead is extremely gruesome and guro. The two are both cruel and startling, but Kazumi has a much deeper plot. Both also have really cute art.

Both are set in a small village seemingly far away from the world, and have creepy undertones and occasional gory deaths. Many of the village's terrifying secrets are kept from the main characters (a group of children) in both. For both series the animation style is incredibly moe and big-eyed for the genres that they are as well.

Both anime shorts about cute animals that can talk. Shiba Inuko-san can talk directly to people, however Chi's voice is only heard by the audience and other animals on the show.

Just as dirty, with a twist to conflicting personalities. The Art is very attractive, though it's done by a different author~
