After a great first season and an absolutely stellar second season, My Hero Academia delivers yet again albeit with a few minor bumps
STORY 9: It might be a shounen but it is so wonderfully executed that it manages to keep things fresh and original. The first half of the season is a 10, some great villains and fight in the training arc and capped off with the superb All Might V All for One showdown. Honestly no negatives at all. The secong half is a bit of a let down after that high but i look at it like a necessary evil to progress

I have not read the manga but this was one of the shows that i was looking forward to this season and it did not disappoint.
STORY 8: Episodes are usually split into 2 parts and maintains continuity across them. For a show about diving there is very little of it but it hardly matters, the show is gut busting hilarious. And it's refreshing to have the members in college. ART 7: The underwater scenes are average. It doesn't look breathtakingly beautiful as the characters state. But above land the art hold up well and the some of the faces are remarkable, kind of like what ...

Irrelevant review considering its been nearly a decade since this came out but whatever, so i'll keep this short. i'll admit it has it's shortcomings. Nakama power is very prevalent, the fights bar a few standouts are unremarkable and the quality of the story is very inconsistent post the Tenrou Island Arc(till then its really good),but on the other hand, the world is fun, the characters are great and colourful and i always liked the ensemble approach as opposed to a single MC. Here we go, another long running shounen and lets not kid ourselves, we do like those. It probably deserves some of the hate it got atleast when it comes to the first 10 episodes. But i'll give this a solid 7. To break it down STORY:6 Fair, Nothing groundbreaking. Its as generic as it gets being weak MC fights the odds to make it to the top. You know the drill. The pacing can be frustrating at times. But as generic as the story is, its well executed and the overarching plot is interesting. ART: 7 Good. Art is not very obvious to me ... |
