Some similarities include the main character being ostracized by her class at the beginning but slowly making friends and great relationships. No monsters in kimi ni todoke but both romantic plot lines with the main characters dealing with doubts and trying to figure out who they are.

...then you might like Tenkuu no Escaflowne add

Another mecha anime. strong. held back male characters...and both leading ladies having strange powers that,in different ways, links them to the lead males mecha.so many good things to say about both..will sum it up with: both are a MUST watch!! ^_^

If you liked Shin Kidou Senki Gundam Wing add

...then you might like Tenkuu no Escaflowne add

Both are mecha anime with strong leading male characters on a mission.Throw in a little romance with two great leading ladies, and you have a hit for both. Escaflowne is more about Hitomi finding out about who she really is, while in the midst of a new world. Gundam wing focuses more on the war in space and the two main characters searching for what is right to do for themselves...all in all both great animes that are a MUST to check out!

...then you might like Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch Pure add

Similar magical girls fighting the bad guys...Similar focus on the main character and her love interest...sailor moon has a lot more to it tho along with a lot more seasons. More drama, but no singing.
