This anime is a WONDERFUL masterclass show that does not fail to impress me. The introduction of this show starts off REALLY, REALLY strong, and it's still just only begun. The beginning of this show is almost just as if you're being brought into life from the perspective of the protagonist. It really is... "another world." The show really capitalizes on that expression so well by introducing the audience to a whole new foreign language, different norms and standards, and the introduction to magic and swordsmanship.
There really is so much to be unpacked about the world as the story progresses, such as that of
...
the variety of races, continents, and kingdoms that come to play a central part of the story later on. Everything in the earlier parts of the story is mentioned for the audience to get a grasp of what to expect. It's all just tied so nicely together with great pacing, really.
Moreover, the character development in this show is fantastic and goes along well with the pacing in the show. You can't fully expect a person to change in such a short span of time, especially when there are no outside factors such as a person to guide on the morals of what's right or wrong to our protagonist. One thing that's for sure is that we can see our protagonist slowly shaping himself through the interactions that remind him of what he once was, a degenerate. These constant reminders sets our protagonist to take the courage to actually take a better route from the decisions that he made in his previous life, which all inhabited the things that you shouldn't do or be. It's a coming-of-age story about an individual that's given an opportunity to relive a new life. Don't go in halfway in this show expecting that the protagonist can change himself in the span of 1 season. Again, we're still in the introduction phase of this anime; we still have a lot more to unpack.
