They are both about people being forced into a death game. The both pretty much start off the same way, although the characters are different.

This anime simply screams Dragon Ball. You don't even have to watch Dragon Ball to know it's similar. As long as you're familiar with what Dragon Ball is about, you can see it. We find a young women on a quest who by chance meets a small boy. As it turns out, this boy isn't really what he appears to be. He posses a special power that surpasses that of the norm. And as a result, they both embark together on a similar quest to the original. They confront some enemies along the way, but due to his abilities, the boy is able to fight them off. I'll start with the animation. I see it very similar to that of Dragon Ball to a high extent. Of course, Nanatsu no Taizai is definitely better in quality, but if one is able to look past that, they might get that familiar "Dragon Ball" feeling. In Nanatsu no Taizai, there is also the evident "ecchi" aspect of the anime, which is very similar to what we see in Dragon Ball. And not to mention that both anime present some creatures that might not make sense to the particular setting, or that might not make sense at all. For example, in Dragon Ball, we see some dinosaurs here and there, even though the setting is supposed to be in a futuristic time period. In a similar manner, I remember seeing a flying manta in Nanatsu no Taizai, and it gave off a similar feeling to that of Dragon Ball. This is just my opinion. But I hope it helps.
