I had started this anime with great expectations, taking into account the good rating on the page (although I have learned not to trust this) and expecting an interesting and funny romantic comedy, I did not ask for any masterpiece.
instead, I find that romance and our protagonists take a back seat to the story.
Meanwhile, Benio, the sister who bullies younger girls, begins to have a really unnecessary prominence with his "jokes" towards little mashiro. From wanting to lick jam from her cheek, bathing with her, "getting excited" by smelling her underwear, buying her clothes to dress her to her liking, etc.
I hope that with this
...
you get a general idea of the quality of the comedy and this anime in general.
I don't know about the others, but if I watch romantic comedy and the couple is Kobeni and Hakuya, it's normal to expect that they will be the ones who have the most relevance and screen time and not the sister who bullies minors.
Leaving that aside, if we focus on analyzing, the two main aspects, romance and comedy, Unfortunately, I must say that I was disappointed in both respects.
First of all, the comedy is really weak and basic. And even though sometimes, something like that can work, this is not the case. We have only 1 or 2 themes on which most of the comedy is based:
Benio, questionably bullying any boy and then, the mashiro girl, being cute/silly or running away from Benio. While they try to use the other characters for comedic situations, these are anecdotal and just as bad as the main core.
Then, when it comes to romance and relationships in anime, these are just as basic and superficial as comedy, and worst of all is the lack of progression in the story and depth in the characters.
Sure, as the episodes go by, you can see the main characters get a little closer, but again, that's about it. There are no significant moments that move the plot forward, a character background that makes you empathize with them, you finish the story without caring in the least what happens with the characters, because, it's not that anything happens either...
In the end, you end the 12 episodes with the feeling that you're back where you started, without even having enjoyed anything remarkable on your way to this ending.
As you may have noticed, I haven't talked about the plot at any point, and this is because usually, I prefer everyone to see it for themselves. The only thing I'm going to say is that this anime has the most wasted and useless twist I've seen in a long time.
Like all the other sections, it had potential, but they preferred to endure the whole story with jokes in bad taste (benio) and cute things / moe (mashiro), a shame.
I don't recommend it to ANYONE looking for a good romantic comedy/love story. A total waste of time.

THIS REVIEW MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS, BUT I SWEAR IT WILL SAVE YOU TIME AND SUFFERING (Also, I don't mention names, or important anecdotes directly)
I never usually write reviews and you can tell by looking at the few I have here, but the development disaster I saw in the last 1/4 (or maybe, second half) of this anime and the misleading score it has in MAL, prompted me to do my bit to fix this.
I don't want to be too long because this "thing" doesn't deserve more of my time, but I'm going to summarize it like this: If you want a story where the protagonist
...
meets a girl who is sweet, kind, has personality, cares about him, helps him improve and look forward and he from one moment to the next, for no logical reason, He decides to leave her (or rather he decides to cheat on her) to stay with another girl he barely knows, with no background, no personality, manipulative, a liar and without an minimum of empathy then maybe you like this attempt at romance.
If, on the other hand, you really want a well-constructed romance story, with a logical ending and that doesn't leave you feeling like you've wasted your time, then walk away from this show.
In short, it's a show that teaches you that lying, cheating, manipulating, is okay as long as you put on a face of suffering and pretend to be good, even if you're a lying bitch, because if you're attractive and popular, it's enough for the protagonist to fall in love with you (REALLY, THERE'S NO OTHER REASON), While sincere people, who form real bonds, go forward, and care about others, deserve to be left alone, to be deceived, mistreated, and that's okay.
I don't know about you, but it's not the kind of message I want a romance anime to leave me with. Although it would be nice if all the contrusion of the story happened logically, but it DOESN'T. So, don't waste time with this garbage.

I don't usually drop animes, just few crap like redo the healer, however i had to drop kanamemo. Do not misunderstand me, it is not up to the aforementioned garbage, but it fails in the most basic and at the same time important thing in a comedy, making people laugh. Although it begins with an argument that could lend itself to something else, the development of the story and characters is excessively superficial (if we can call it development). Again, that wouldn't bother me if the show made me laugh... but it doesn't. The whole show tries to sustain itself based on moe and fanservice
...
of the most questionable (among them a pedophile woman, who tries to assault the girls of the residence, and it seems that the author thinks it is funny because she is a woman, then not bad). Anyway, if you're really looking for something funny, they have much better things like azumanga daiho, asobi asobase, nichijou, school rumble, among others. Don't waste your time with kanamemo, unless you just want to touch yourself with cartoons and see moe faces every 30 seconds.

If there was a manual on how to monetize nostalgia, "Digimon adventure tri" should be the prime example of that (learn Toriyama, with your disappointing "DB Super"). I do not say it as something negative, but quite the opposite, it is what makes this long-awaited continuation so special after about two decades (yes, all the spin offs never existed for me).
This may not be an anime that is going to change your life or your perception of the world, but if there is a message that leaves us for those of us who have already passed or are almost 30 years old, it is that

sometimes there are decisions that we must make, for More difficult or mean the loss of something that we really appreciate.
Lastly, for all of you trying to do a "technical analysis" of this, I am truly sorry that you have forgotten what it feels like to be a chosen child.
*I clarify that I saw all the episodes after it was finished, so the "movie by episode" format was not a problem for me.

Monogatari, it can be difficult to describe what this story (or set of them) offers or contains. For this reason, and because I like to let people discover the characters and surprises by themselves and not by a couple of lines of text, I am going to limit myself to leaving an overview of what I think this product offers. .
It could be said that the first impression it gives is "style over substance", because the work in the animation and the staging of the anime is really incredible and quite original, in an industry in which we are used to that the plans or
...
the narrative is pretty "standard" 90% of the time. However, with the passage of the episodes and the seasons (which are MANY I am telling you) you realize that this story has much more to offer than just a series of beautiful shots and animation. Monogatari is not a shonen, it is not a harem, it is not a romantic comedy, it is not a thriller, it is not horror, it is not psychological, it is not a slice of life, but it contains all that and more, and most importantly, it works perfectly and conforms to the universe of the series.
With well-built characters (mostly), a somewhat confusing plot at the beginning but rich in depth, an animation higher than average and some shots that will leave you impressed, there is only one BUT that could make you decide not to see this and I will explain it. in the end.
It turns out that the author, apparently, has a "fetish" with little girls, of course this is my impression, but I have my reasons. In the course of the anime you will probably find yourself (sometimes) the protagonist having "questionable behaviors" towards some characters that "biologically" would give the impression of girls 10 years or younger (and some are). Of course this, in the general plane, is nothing more than anecdotal in the series, but it could be "annoying" for certain people and it is the only point against that I have with the entire universe of monogatari series.
PS: I really recommend that you watch it in broadcast order. Actually the final result when joining the pieces of the mysteries and questions in the order that I indicate them, is much greater to see it in the "chronological order" where the mental exercise and the surprise are null.

I do not usually review here, but seeing the exaggeratedly positive number of comments, I was forced to do so. I will try to be short but concise. The animation, story and music are average for any generic anime of this style. However, my biggest problem is with COMEDY which is almost NON-EXISTING in my understanding.
the reason is because there is a difference between an absurd comedy and ABSURD SCENES without any kind of grace and it is in this last category that "D-frag" falls. Therefore, I would only recommend this if you do not have any good comedy pending to see, such as Gintama,
