As someone uninterested in the isekai genre, I was a bit iffy to give this a shot. But let me tell you this one's worth it. Nowadays most iskeais have a few things in common:
Overpowered mc, and tons and tons of fan service that tries to compensate the lack of story and depth of the plot.
This is where Re:zero shines as the mc is not a extreme op hunk with a harem of girls following him around. Subaru Natsuki is the farthest thing from op but how he deals with the dire situations he's frequently put in is the most important and ... intense part of the story. The characters are well written, the music is awesome and the life or death situation that lingers throughout the anime gives it a sense of seriousness that most isekais lack.

There is a strong psychological element to this anime. The events that transpire throughout the anime constantly push the characters psyche especially Subaru's to the very limit. So fans of that genre will like it as well.

In short the anime industry is full of Trashy isekais that lack any form of depth. Alth There are exceptions and Re:zero is such an exception. A moving experience from beginning to end that might actually change your outlook on life itself. So what are you waiting for? Give it a shot!

The anime in my opinion is a masterpiece.And the reason for this is the excellent characters. I'll give a brief overview of characters with spoiling as little as possible. It's up to you whether you watch it or not.
We all go through slumps in life. A period where we don't feel like doing anything worthwhile and just try to get by as little as possible. The protagonist Rikuo is also going through such a phase and people going through similar situations like him can easily relate to him.

Then there's Haru. Haru's a textbook example of someone being hopelessly crushed over someone. Against ... all odds she tries to be with her crush but at the end comes to terms with this feelings.We all had crushes before and you can relate to Haru as well.

Another important character is Shinako. She's chained down by an incident of the past which renders her unable to move forward and get stuck in a stasis of sort. She is the most selfish among the characters which viewers will understand as they watch.

the point is the show has such a diverse and relatable characters that you will surely be pleased to watch. The characters capture the essence of what being a young adult means in this day and age.I won't go through the other characters as the review is getting too long haha. Lastly i have to say it is a truly good slice of life which I can recommend to everyone. My only criticism is the ending seems a bit rushed and too good to be true. Still the overall experience overshadows it. So what are you waiting for? Give it a shot
