Since this movie is currently sitting at the number 1 spot for all time top rated anime on this website, I assumed a large portion of you had already seen this movie, so this review will contain spoilers.
Now that I got that out of the way, let’s just jump right into it.
Kimi no na wa is Makoto Shinkai’s latest movie, the story follows a guy named Taki and a girl named Mitsuha begins to switch bodies because, well, reasons. The first half of the movie is just your typical Slice of Life comedy that involves characters switching bodies. For the most part, it was
...
harmless, until they tries to be something else in the second half.
The huge plot twist of this movie is that apparently Taki is not just switching bodies with mitsuha, but he’s apparently went 3 years back in time before Itomori (the village that mitsuha’s living in) got destroyed by a comet.
Now now now, where do I even begin with all of this nonsense. So, apparently Taki was time travelling back in time the whole time yet, he didn’t realize that he was actually sent back to 3 years before the present? Hello? Am I the only one who noticed how stupid it was?
How could Taki didn’t notice that he was time travelling back in time despite the fact that he was using mitsuha’s phone to write a diary? Uhm, I’m sorry but as far as I know every fucking phone in this entire goddamn planet tells you the current date and time AT THE TOP ON ITS FUCKING SCREEN, HOW DOES TAKI AND MITSUHA DIDN’T EVEN NOTICE THE SIMPLEST THING SUCH AS THAT?
Oh yeah I get it, because if they actually realized it right away the whole thing where Taki goes to meet mitsuha in person and found that she was actually dead long time ago wouldn’t be as dramatic as it would be if they didn’t realize it. Once again, anime is treating its viewers like some kind of retard, not so suprising eh?
I don’t really mind about how they didn’t explain the whole body switching works. But to completely ignore logic just for the sake of being dramatic is beyond unforgivable.
Well aside from the incoherent plot this movie excels at the presentation. Its really gorgeous and the colours are vivid. The show composition were great but that doesn’t hide the fact that the story was a complete mess. If I'd to rate this movie solely because of the Presentation alone, it would be 8 or higher, sadly, the plot is a huge turn off for me that not even pretty colours could change my opinion about the movie.
As for the characters they’re completely forgettable and there’s nothing really stand out about them. The one thing that I don’t get is Taki and Mitsuha’s relationship. Just because you swapped bodies doesn’t mean that you have to fall in love with each other, their relationship has literally no chemistry whatsoever, even Taki and his coworker relationship makes more sense than him being with Mitsuha.
There are more things to cover about this movie but I think this would be enough.
In short, Kimi no na wa is far from what you can call a “Masterpiece”. But if you can ignore everything and just literally “turn your brain off” I can see why someone would like it. But as for me, I could not just overlook how stupid this movie is.

Rezero is easily the most popular anime of Spring 2016, it’s your typical isekai anime but it comes with a twist, that twist being that it has a time travelling aspect. Yup, an anime that’s involving time travelling, nothing could possibly go wrong riiiiight?
So what makes this show so popular? Well, the story follows a guy named Subaru who got randomly teleported into another world, why does he get teleported into another world? Who knows, its magic. Funnily enough he acts as if teleporting into another world is a completely normal thing to happen, he didn’t give a single shit on why he got teleported
...
into another world and instead tries to be this genre savvy character where he acts pretty self-aware of what’s going on. From there we meet our 1st waifu bait, Emillia. Without any knowledge of what’s going on, Subaru decided to help Emillia, and by doing that we finally encountered this show’s twist, that twist being that Subaru has the ability to go back in time every single time he died, basically, he’s invisible, This is probably the worst thing you can give to a character.
By giving a character an ability to basically redo everything till he gets it right basically kills any potential suspense that this show could of have since Subaru actions literally have no consequences because he can just redo everything and try to do things right. And I know what some of you are thinking right now “Bb-but Farrel! If you keep dying constantly it will result a psychological damage thus making you depressed and that’s what makes Subaru so “Realistic”. Pft yeah right, the psychological strain is just melodrama that gets out of its way with the power of friendship (Or with the power of a Lap pillow LOL). His mood swings are so quick that it is hardly believable, forget about realistic. He has a breakdown, then it's resolved within an episode or two. Constantly doing that makes the consequences feel tame and do not have impact because they constantly has not well executed breakdowns then resolves them with just as bad execution.
I think that the people who considered Subaru as a “Realistic character” is referring to the fact that Subaru is a completely useless character and that makes at least 90% of the people who watch rezero easier to self-insert themselves because it’s relatable to them.
Okay enough with Subaru, let’s move on to the more crucial problem that this anime had, that being the storyline. Rezero’s setting is entirely reliant on the supernatural power, that being the teleportation. What was it that triggered Subaru's transportation? Why Subaru of all people? Of course it didn’t get explained, are you really expecting a show where the author does whatever he asspulls every 5 minutes to give us a logical explanation? Lol, keep dreaming.
>inb4 someone tries to justify it by saying “It’s all explained in the Novel!! xDD”
Sorry, but saying that “It’s explained in the novel” Is not a valid argument. You should understand that we’re not talking about the novel here. The light novel and the anime are two completely different entities as they should be. A novel is not to an anime what a guide or a manual is to a videogame, so please dont try to justify how shit this anime is by saying that all explained in the source material.
Another problem that this show suffers is they rely on shock factor to make this show more “Interesting”. If we take a look at the early episodes, it took Subaru MORE THAN 2 TIMES to figure out that he has the ability to travel back in time. It’s quite ironic how they show Subaru as this genre savvy character in the 1st episode, where he’s pretty self-aware that he’s being teleported into another world, but it took him that much time to realize that he’s stuck in a loop.
Of course they are doing this just to show us that this show is edgy, they torture Subaru so that the people have the impression that this show is dark when it is not. I’m sorry but adding torture to your main character every episode in a whole arc with no actual story progression or content does not equal a good subversion. And they didn’t stop there, they have to torture Subaru again in the later episode where one of the maids has a suspicion on Subaru, and then guess what Rem did? That’s right, She kills him. If one is suspicious, wouldn’t any individual go ahead and try and reinforce those suspicions with facts and an ounce of sense, things which they have garnered throughout an investigation? Of course that’s not what rem did, but instead, she kills him. Oh wow, what a dark show we have here everyone.
If you don’t do anything more than killing or torturing characters, it will get boring very fast because the audience will get over the initial shock, and eventually get used to it. Plus, we know that Subaru is not going to literally die anyway, so why do we even care at this point?
Another thing that’s quite ironic about this show is that the author said that he wants to critique the whole isekai genre, but he doesn’t do that at all. Infact he did the complete opposite, he basically did everything that he wants to “Critique”.
In conclusion, rezero is nothing different from any other generic light novel adaptations out there, it tries to be something different, but fails miserably. The show is relying entirely on the plot convenience and cheap ass shock factor to get the story in motion . All the characters can be summed up in a word; they're cliche and the story hasn't utilised anything or even the time reset aspect, it's more a way for the story to get to point a to point b faster than anything. The setting is dry bland and bleak as ever. I won’t recommend this show to anyone unless you’re one of those people that are easily impressed by some cheap ass shock factor and a premise that’s too reliant on constant plot twists in order to keep the viewer seated.

What will happen after we die?
A question that were asked by many, but there isn't any valid answer to that question. Though in this manga, we are going to take a lighthearted look on the above subject matter.
Majime na Jikan follows a story about a girl who happen to die from getting hit by a car, the driver himself already dead because of a heart attack, leaving the car moving on its own, and then hit kazusa, who's happen to be in the wrong place and the wrong time.
As a result of that Kazusa, our main character became a ghost that can fly around,
...
and then she noticed that we've actually been coexisting with ghosts (Or i should rather say spirits) for a long time. These spirits lives on earth just as human do, but rather on a different dimension. As the story progresses, Kazusa noticed that her mom is still bothered by the fact that her daughter is dead leaving that Kazusa cannot pass to the other side because of that. (Or so i thought)
Being only a 9 chapter manga, there isn't much that you can develop such as the characters. But i think they did a pretty decent job on wrapping up the whole story, and reached a suprisingly pleasant ending.
Overall, Majime na Jikan is a pretty fun ride, there's only 9 chapters so you could basically finished it in like 20 minutes. The art was good, the building and the background was so detailed, but there isn't anything that stands out. I will give this one a 7 out 10 for being a pretty fun read before bedtime.

Boku dake ga inai machi or "Erased" for short is probably the most overhyped show of the season, heck it got into Top 10 anime chart on this website. So, what makes this show so popular? Why did the show got so much attention?
Well the show opens up with a rather thrilling & interesting premise where the protagonist is capable of going back in time to save someone from being murdered or accidents in general. On the first episode we saw that the MC went back in time to save a little kid from getting hit by a truck, unfortunately this whole "Revival" power that
...
Satoru had is just a plot convenience. There is no real explanation of this power nor the story implies it, its just there because the story calls for it.
Although this anime had a "Mystery" tag on it this is not a mystery anime, though, it's a suspense thriller. The intent of making the killer's identity really obvious from the start isn't to make the viewer feel smart, it's to create dramatic irony in order to ratchet up the tension whenever Satoru or another character is alone with him. The mystery is a narrative device that serves as motivation for the protagonist - not the genre of the show.
I thought at first this anime was a mystery anime too, but not until the show breaks a cardinal rule of mystery writing on page 1 by invoking the supernatural, and it breaks more important rules at every step by having satoru just look up the answer to riddles in reference books from the library. Satoru doesn't deduce who the villain is from a list of suspects - the bad guy straight up tells him.
Moving on to the characters, they didn't act according to their age at all, heck, Satoru even got psychoanalyzed by an elementary schooler that is 11 younger than him. Though the character that what i want to talk about the most is Hinazuki, she is the most important character on this show, (Even though the cause of the revival is satoru's mom but whatever).
The first half of the show is satoru trying to prevent hinazuki from getting murdered, the show treats her like she's some kind of a mere plot device, lucklily character development is present, yet it is lackluster. She's getting abused by her own mother for no reason, well there is a reason but it felt like it was forced. The interaction between satoru and his friends seems rather unnatural: however, that is to advanced the plot to a certain extent, the show purpose is not to make a decent slice of life moments to beginwith.
For the animation, sound and screen direction, it was good. There are some shots that advanced the narrative, the shot where Satoru enters the classroom emphasizes that he feels like a total outsider stepping into his old life from two decades ago, and the cut as he goes to meet hinazuki empasizes how flustered he is by the sudden turn of events his friends have caused, these shots were perfectly well done.
Not to mention this show tend to beating the viewer over the head with the point. Like for example, they distinguished the past and the present by letterboxing the frame, make the colour red stands out if something bad is going to happen (Eg; red eyes).
Overall, Boku dake ga inai machi could be a better show if it was handled more properly, but instead of doing that this show fails at the fundamentals and tries to hide these issues by ignoring them completely, leaves us the viewer with tons of plotholes and failed in executing the basic elements of the show.

Its been quite a while since I read this manga, so might aswell I review it.
Onepunch-man is a superhero manga. A genre that im not really into it, but its not a regular super hero like marvel, it has some twist in it. It tells the story of Saitama, a man who trained so hard at becoming a superhero that he became really strong. So strong that he ends every single fight in a single punch.
In this world superhero is a job, needless to say you got to do some good deeds such as catches a robber or even fight the mysterious being. Oh
...
yea I forgot to mention theres some monsters too in this world that appeard all the time.
Our main character here named saitama is a superhero for hobby, he’s a superhero himself but he forgot to apply to the super hero associations so he did not make any outcome out of it until he met a cyborg who’s strong aswell, then both of them joins the hero association together.
So from the title “One punch man” we could assume what kind of power he has, yep. He ends any fight with a single punch. That’s the central joke to onepunch man. Saitama is so powerful that he’s bored. Unlike any other franchise such as dbz or even sword art online, they got a suspense but it’s a false suspense since the maincharacter is OP asfuck. One punch man has no suspense at all because he defeats any monster with a single punch. Theres no logical explanation of why is he OP asfuck, but he once mention that he trains physically for over 3 years, but is that really the reason why he is strong as he is rightnow? That’s not really plausible.
I’m well aware that one punch-man is an action comedy genre type of thing. Its not a shows based on a logical thinking. But just having Saitama show up and punch dudes in the face would get old pretty quickly. What makes it click as a joke is how unassuming he is. He's a bit of a loser really. His superhero costume is a yellow jumpsuit and red kitchen gloves. He looks like a man play-acting superhero, which is kind of what he is doing. Plus he just looks silly, with his blank bored expression and bald head, which is why it's just inherently funny to see him surprise these superpowered hyper-evolved beings with that big dopey face of his and immense strength.
Over all Onepunch-man is a refreshing manga, I had a good laugh with it. The art is amazingly done and fits well the manga. Despite all the flaws it didn’t really hurts my enjoyment. I would rate this manga 7.6/10 with an 8.5/10 enjoyment level.

*This review may contain spoilers*
Yup, another review of this famous anime. Some people hate this show to death while some people love it and now im going to give you my own perspective of Sword art online.
(This is my actual first time reviewing an anime so im sorry if i miss out some important point of the show.)
Story / Plot (3/10) :
So in the future Virtual reality is a thing. Now we have our main character who use this VR called "Nerve Gear" to play a MMORPG game called Sword art online. Little did everyone know they are trapped inside the game and
...
if you die in the game, you die in real life and you must clear the game to go back to the real world.
People are saying that the first 14 episode are "good" compared to the rest of it. But i find SAO is a bullshit to begin with.
Ok first lets talk about how kirito leveling up.
In the first episode he is level 1, in episode 3 he is level 40, in episode 4 he is level 78 and in episode 10 after the 2 year time skip he is only level 98. My point here is how someone levels up or what they do to level up is NEVER explained. Same goes to when kirito saved sachi guild is never explained. And then some fanboy of sao told me that Sachi's death is suppose to be sad, but what I didn't know is that Sachi gets less than one episode of development. So how can the death of a character with less than one episode of development be sad ?
This just hurts my enjoyment of the show. Theres way too much plotholes. The plot progression is ridiculous aswell. The only episode that progress the plot is Episode 1, 2, 10, 13 and 14 (we are talking about the aincrad arc). The rest of the aincrad arc episode are fillers. So i find Sword art online is not an anime about a videogame, its a romance that just happens to take place in a videogame. Because its mainly focused on the romance aspect of the anime not the game aspect.
Characters (2/10) :
Now lets move on to the characters. The most bullshit aspect about SAO is the characters.
Kirito :
We have our main character here who has no personality whatsoever. He is good at everything he tries for no reason. Not even a single Character development were given to him. And the lack of characterazation. Now lets talk about kirito being a "Solo player". Being a solo player on an MMORPG death game is a complete bullshit.
Kirito says that he's a solo player at the end of episode 2, and at the beginning of episode 3 he's in a fucking guild, in episode 4 he team up with silica, in episode 5 & 6 he team up with asuna, in episode 7 he team up with Lizabeth and ONLY at the beginning of episode 8 AFTER the two-year timeskip do we see him alone and at the same episode not only he team up with asuna again but by episode 11 they are fucking married.
So explain to me why is this stupid little shit keeps saying he's a solo player? Alright because its EDGY. He's edgy because he's alone. What a cool guy.
Asuna :
Asuna is there only for the love interest of kirito. She's never shown at anytime dedicating time to fighting. And yet she "supposely" popular. For being what? Asuna cant even do shit without kirito, why is she so popular? What did she do? That is never explained in the anime.
Suguha:
Her main role is providing fanservice and a tacked-on incest subplot. It's simply another element thrown into the plot for cheap shock value, if anyone is still shocked by incest in anime nowadays.
Kayaba Akihiko :
The dumbest antagonist of all time. Kayaba simply forget his motives for doing all what he did in SAO. Never in any other show that i have read or seen has a villiant simply forgotten why they're doing what they're doing.
Lisbeth:
Lisbeth is there only for the jealousy purposes. And waifu bait.
The rest of Kirito harems / side characters are useless and pointless to describe. Each one of them only got 1 episode of characterazation. And its not worth mentioning. The plot can progress without them.
Art (7/10) :
The art is decently good, heck its an original standard of A-1 Pictures.
Soundtrack (8/10) :
Well i must say the soundtrack is above average. Its suit the show really well. Its the only redeeming quality in sword art online.
Overall (4/10):
Sword art online is a wasted potential. It can be a decent anime but its poorly written. The pacing is absurd. And the bland characters hurts my enjoyment. Its not that suprising if theres a lot people who enjoy this anime. Especially those who are new to anime.
