Honestly, this anime surprised me. This anime kept my heart rate elevated, kept me on the edge of my seat, and was one of the anime's that I must see the next episode the whole time. I actually clapped at the end during the credits. As you watch the anime, you'll realize this anime is very similar to a movie series, which I will leave a hint of the series name if you are interested. As you watch you'll also see that it is a million times better than the movie series if you've ever watched any of them. It is FD.
The Art

was amazing. The animation is perfectly crisp and clear and Another doesn't over do on the gore part. For a Horror/Psychological Thriller/Mystery, it does the perfect amount. So gore fans won't be disappointed and those a little more squeamish shouldn't be grossed out.
As for the Sound, it was like a horror game keeping you locked in suspense. I enjoyed it very much even though I particularly don't like horror games except jrpgs. The background music was very good and each track fitted whatever was happening perfectly. If you've ever played Corpse Party, then you'll know exactly what I am talking about. In fact, I think it may be even a bit better than Corpse Party.
The Character Development was very pleasing as well. The main characters don't require to much of a back story, and even then, all of the back story used is very interesting. One thing I liked was the fact that ALL of the characters were normal. None of them were overly cutesy or "super plain". Even non-important characters, just characters who have a face and you may see down the hallway tie into the story. There are rowdy characters, quiet, analytical, sharp characters, uneasy characters etc. They all fit in superbly within this anime.
I gave this anime a 10. I generally give somewhat high scores, 7-9, and only have a few 10's, 4 or so not counting this one. When I watched Higurashi (gave both a 10), all of the blood and suffering kind of made me laugh, it was just to out of this world to truly make me feel differently. Elfen Lied for its story and seriousness. Another is like the perfect blend of Higurashi and Elfen Lied. If those to hooked up, Another would be its beautiful result. I personally will definitely watch this again, and with a long and ever-growing list of anime to watch, it must be pretty good if I will re-watch it. True, now that I have seen it and know how everything goes, it loses some of its touch, but the story's plot is just so good that I still will watch it.
Overall, no, completely; I give it the righteous 10 this anime deserves. I truly recommend this to anybody looking for a short but powerful anime.
