Well here we have it, this is it; the third movie of the Kara no Kyoukai series. And as I have mentioned in my other reviews as well this movie is based on the Japanese novel series, authored by Kinoko Nasu and illustrated by Takashi Takeuchi. This movie is also probably the most anticipated movie by Type-Moon fans.
Well anyway onto this review.
Warning: Their are spoilers within this review, so please watch the movie first if you don't wish to be spoiled.
Story - 9
Well first off the story in the third movie, in my opinion, is much better than the second and first. The story
...
in this one is a stand-alone story, like the first movie, and its pretty much understandable by itself. Definitely some twists and turns in this one and keeps you on your toes. Some parts are more understandable if you've seen the first two before this one and explains somethings that appeared in the first movie.
Art - 10
As always the visuals in this series is just outstanding. The special effects were just done beautifully and the background with excellent dark tones that fit this supernatural series. And as always the murder scenes made so gruesomely and lifelike. Again, excellent.
Sound - 8
Not much change in this category. Pretty much the same as the first two movies. Still good bgm for its supernatural and suspense theme. I thought the theme song "Kizuato" was alright as well.
Character - 9
Ok now the third movie definitely improved in this category. Not in character development, but more background info. It also introduced a very interesting character in this story by the name of Fujino Asagami and her ability; whom you'll feel pity for or not. This movie also explains Shiki's ability known as Mystic Eyes of Death Perception, which has been unexplained since the first movie, but still doesnt reveal how she got them though.
Enjoyment - 9
Well all I can say is that, if you've at least watched this series since the first movie then you'll probably be blown away by this one. Alot more action than the others, though its more towards the end of the movie. And how the story unfolds til the end you might be shocked. Not to mention this movie explains some things from the first one. And like the first two, murder scenes are still explicit. I should also mention that their's also nudity in the scenes where it shows Fujino getting violated (although those guys did deserve to die).
Overall - 9
All I can say, even from an average anime viewer's point of view, that this movie is the best movie of the three movies released so far. The action scenes is definitely great and the animation is excellent as always. Overall the movie itself is excellent, with flaws here and their. Definitely a great movie of the supernatural.
Actually if you only saw this movie, you'll probably still enjoy it, but if you've seen the first two movies before this one, then you'll probably be blown away by this one as Ive mentioned before. So its recommended to watch Fukan Fuukei first, Satsujin Kousatsu (Part 1) second and this one third to truly enjoy this series.
So an average anime viewer should definitely watch as well as you TYPE-moon fans out there.

Well here we have it, this is the second movie of seven in this series in which I also mentioned in my review for Kara no Kyoukai: Fukan Fuukei. And as I have mentioned in my other review as well this movie is based on the Japanese novel series, authored by Kinoko Nasu and illustrated by Takashi Takeuchi. I should also state, if you havent noticed in the title, that this movie is actually the first half of 2 parts.
Well anyway onto the review.
Warning: Their are spoilers within this review, so please watch the movie first if you don't wish to be
...
spoiled.
Story - 8
Well first off the story in the second movie, is abit more smooth than the first one. It introduces how Shiki Ryōgi and Mikiya Kokutō first met back in high school, so this answers some questions from the first movie, but not all. The story itself in this one is still abit shaky but not as rough in the first one.
Art - 10
Just like the first movie, this one too shines in this category. The visuals is just excellent movie which is something only a handful of other animes can surpass or match. The lighting was just done great in the night scenes and the murders scenes done so explicit that it seems real itself. Once again, excellent.
Sound - 8
Well I didn't see quite an improvement nor a downgrade in sound here. The bgm still mixed perfectly well with some scenes. Although I did like the theme song for this one, which was also performed by Yuki Kajiura.
Character - 8
Well just like the first one, the second well still suffers in this category, but not as much as the first. Unlike the first one which was kinda thrown at our face, this one introduces alittle abit of character behind Shiki Ryōgi and Mikiya Kokutō. Its notable that Mikiya had interest in Shiki since he first laid eyes on her, and that Shiki is from a prestigous background. So were treated to not development but more background for these two.
Enjoyment - 8
Well if you enjoyed the first one, then you might be alittle disappointed on this one, or not. All I can say is that their is less(or no, whatever you criteria of action is) action in this one compared to the first one. Pretty much the only way to enjoy this movie is that you get at least abit of background story behind two characters. But you do get a sense of suspense when you do learn more background of these characters, which may shock you or not. And like the first, murder scenes are still quite explicit.
Overall - 8
Overall the movie, from a Type-Moon fans opinion or if you generally like the series, is great. Because you get more background story for characters. The visuals is still excellent as always, with the sound being good. Still has its noticeable flaws but still a great movie of the supernatural. Although the average anime viewer might be turned away by this movie, more so than the first movie if they havent even watched the first movie. So its recommended to watch the first movie Kara no Kyoukai: Fukan Fuukei first before this one.
Now if you look at this movie and the first one, then you might wonder: How come this movie wasn't first and the first movie later? Well the movies themselves, as ive mentioned before, are based on the light novels from where it originated. And how the light novels where set-up was that the
chapter listings timeselves are not in chronological order. So the movies being released are staying true to the original light novels listing hence is the reason why the movies are set-up like that. Like I mentioned earlier, this movie is part 1 of 2, in which if the movies stay true to the light novels, then the part 2 of this one won't be shown until the seventh movie which is also the last one.
As I have said recommended if you have seen the first movie first for the average anime viewer, and you should watch if your a TYPE-moon fan.

Well first off, let me give alittle bit of background of this series. This anime series is based-off a popular visual novel in Japan (and perhaps to fans around the world) created by the company Type-Moon. The game's popularity later manages to create a sequel, as well as a light novel prequel, manga, video games and of course an anime.
Well the basic plot is about a war between masters and servants in order to attain the Holy Grail thus called the Holy Grail War. Their is a total of seven Masters each with one servant and their task is to eradicate the other servants,
...
either by defeating them or killing their master. When there is only one master and servant left, he or she is granted the Holy Grail, and any wish they desire will come true.
And this story is about a boy named Shirou Emiya, whom after attacked and killed by a servant, is revived and later becomes a Master in this Holy Grail War. While in the meantime he manages to summon his own servant, a girl named Saber. And this is where the story begins...
Well anyway onto the review.
Story - 8
The story in this series is pretty linear and can be understandable in the first few episodes of the series. Its not quite difficult to understand and it has abit of a romantic theme mixed in their, but other than that most of the time the story is quite predictable.
Art - 8
Now in my opinion, the characters animations and lighting effects were done very well in this series, although the character designs and background seem quite simple and not awe inspiring but still good enough to catch your attention.
Sound - 9
Now the bgm in the series was very good and adpated very well to the majority of the scenes in the anime. You could tell when a certain bgm mixed in well with the current mood of a scene. Not to mention both openings, sung by Sachi Tainaka and the three ending songs by Sachi Tainaka and Jyukaiof the anime are excellent.
Character - 8
Now the wide variety of character types through the servants and masters in which they all have their own personality traits and abilites is portrayed well in the series. The only thing that suffers about character in this series is that the full background story of all the characters won't be shown and their is practically little character development at all, so don't expect the main character to let go of his ideals.
Enjoyment - 9
What is truly great about this series is probably the action scenes themselves and how the servants are battling each other using their abilities or Noble Phantasms which is what is really called. You also have the occasional romance, but I'll let you decide if you like it or not.
Overall - 9
Overall the Fate/Stay night has a good variety of characters, excellent bgm and songs, awesome battle scenes and a fairly intriguing story with some well-rounded characters. It does have its flaws and it couldve been alot better. You'll definitely find yourself annoyed with(or hating) the main character or perhaps liking him, depending on your preferences. Fans of general mystery/fantasy/action related shows will find a lot to like about Fate/stay night.
It is definitely recommended to watch even for an average anime viewer since this series has been considered by fans the best anime of 2006. And yes Type-moon fans should watch at least. XD
But if you want to get the full experience or details of Fate Stay Night its highly recommended to play the actual visual novels or wiki if you wish. You'll be quite surprised at some of the things you'll find about Fate Stay Night if you dig deeper into its roots.

Well before I start my review on this anime movie it is actually the first movie of seven with the first one(this one) subbed released on May 21 and the fourth movie released in Japan on May 24th. And the anime is based on the Japanese novel series, authored by Kinoko Nasu and illustrated by Takashi Takeuchi.
Well enough about ranting onto the review.
Story - 8
Well first of all, any plot progression or story development in this first movie is pretty much stand-alone from the series itself, and since this is the first movie of seven, it can be quite(or very) confusing, even if
...
you read the first chapter of the novel. So don't expect to understand it well the first time watching it.
Art - 10
This category is where this anime truly shines. Everything from lighting effects, backgrounds and character animations are top-notch for this modern-day anime. You won't be disappointed with the visuals.
Sound - 9
The bgm for this anime was actually well-done for its mystery/supernatural theme and fitted well with the majority of the scenes in the movie. Not to mention the theme songs were performed by Yuki Kajiura.
Character - 8
Now this movie suffers in this category because you get a complete lack of introduction and/or exposition about the characters in the anime. There’s no explanation about Shiki Ryōgi and her mysterious ability; Likewise Tohko Aozaki and her dolls, although the characters themselves are interesting and cool.
Enjoyment - 9
Now although this movie is suppose to serve as the introduction/pilot movie, it actually is very interesting and intriguing. With its mix of mystery, supernatural, and action it is definitely something interesting to watch. Although there is quite abit of talking in the movie; the action scenes, despite short, were actually depicted very well and cool. Although the suicide scenes are quite explicit.
Overall - 9
Overall the movie, in my opinion, is great. It has its very noticeable flaws, but its still a great supernatural/mystery movie with excellent animations. While the story can be very confusing for the average anime viewer as well as a lack of character introductions; the way its depicted gives you a sense of curiousity, making you want to wait for the next release.
I recommend checking it out despite its flaws for the average anime viewer, especially watch it if your a TYPE-moon fan.
