There are several things these shows have in common, namely: 1. Both shows are about humans being under siege, in OnS it's by vampires, and in WT it's by "Neighbours". In OnS most of humanity has been wiped out, but in WT it's never really made clear if the damage only applies to that specific area in the world or if there are other places. 2. Both shows feature main "companies" that were created to defeat these enemies: OnS: Moon Demon Company - WT: Border 3. Both shows have similar enemies, that also are similar in power/strength: Weaker ones: OnS: 4 Horsemen of John - WT: Trion Soldiers Strong ones: OnS: Noble vampires - WT: Humanoid Neighbour 4. Both shows have similar weapons and rank to them, the strongest ones being: OnS: Black demon series - WT: Black Triggers In both shows, they come with some form of requirement and are only compatible with a few people Main differences: OnS is more fantasy-oriented OnS has better animation but is much shorter WT is most likely aimed at a slightly younger audience WT is lighter, and focuses more on the combat, strategy and tactics while OnS focuses a lot more on the relationships between the characters
