The two shows deliver a dark feel achieved through taboo and rape scenes. There is no considerable development and they concentrate a large part of their idea on entertaining the viewer with action scenes and moments that are intended to be shocking or cunning. Anyone who feels pleasantly eclipsed when viewing a work that includes taboo alongside fantasy will enjoy either of these two works, bearing in mind that both allow for dark fantasy and brief battle scenes. It is important to note that Wicked City does not show sexual scenes in which you can only expect sex and domination, it is closer to ero-guro, including rape with supernatural beings and visual terror that can become uncomfortable for a certain audience.

Mahoutsukai no Yome has a different starting point and is more introspective, but it has the similarity of giving a message for each chapter and having a female protagonist with a kind character. In MnY the protagonist influences the story more than in MnT, although at certain times she will only have the opportunity to admire the story of others.
