I'll start with that, there is continuation after the couple gets together. The manga is currently covering it and still running, and a movie is planned for this series in 2023.
Apart from that, my review is that, I tried to think but I can't find any place that was done half heartedly or less than that in this anime. Every aspect of it exceeded my expectations from a good anime, and there were many added surprises that I never really thought of or seen somewhere else. Watching it was also just about every emotion I can think of.
I really like this. And I'm really happy
...
that anime seems to be evolving in a way. New series are taking inspiration from previous works and becoming more and more great.
Thank you and good job to all of the staff related to this anime. May you keep bringing us such works with the next releases!!

Have you ever heard that if you judge a fish by its ability to climb on a tree you'd think it's stupid?
Many complain about Fairy Tail to the point where its own fans are apologetic for liking it... And I disagree with that. I genuinely thank this author for writing one of my favorite series.
Fairy Tail's fights don't really have much technical logic in them. I'd usually tell you that's boring because then you're not really scared, or resonating with the characters through them. The outcome is known, or easily manipulated. But are they boring? No. Not to me. Because every fight in Fairy Tail
...
tells a story. About the characters. About their past. About their present. And sometimes, about their future. About their weaknesses and about what lead them to be who they are. I personally really dislike bullshit. I don't feel at all like Fairy Tail packs bullshit. It very much resonates with my real life experience, from beginning to end. It represents many different things and types of people in this world, and I love it. Watching it and always being reminded of its core message, brings me a warm feeling of what I don't want to ever forget about. I don't want to be distracted by anything, because this world is full of distractions, and the best thing is to have my friends around, and the most beautiful scenarios are the least luxurious ones.
It is clear from early on that magic in this world is affected by and originates from feelings, and that feelings can change it. So. Not mad at all. The way it was used to telling the stories was beautiful and I loved all the different scenes we got to watch. And the creative situations that were built with it, that reflected much deeper things.
I love Fairy Tail's guild. I love the story it tells about every one of its different characters, and about how in a real family anyone can fit in. Fairy Tail's own family had a leader that didn't lead what a family should be, but it returned to being what it was founded from with Makarov, who (tiny spoiler) didn't even believe in himself to be such a good leader.
Fairy Tail, in every part of my life, speaks truth. It doesn't do it in a shabby way, it doesn't come short in its depth. I've cried so many times through this. Every part of this resonated with things I see and have seen around me, and Fairy Tail focused on showing so many different parts of this world, that can be so twisted sometimes, so surprising sometimes. But in the end, exactly like my grandma made my family a Fairy Tail, if you have the modesty and the right mindset, you can live in a Fairy Tail.
I'm thankful to have watched this beautiful series. Please don't be discouraged to watch it.
P.S. I even give it credit for its pacing. Many series these days have a pacing that takes you for an idiot and it's a no no for me

I dropped this show because I stopped believing maybe there's something interesting that I'm missing and is coming up. It was pretty hollow and empty.
From what I can see, people who like this show are people who looked for lighthearted entertainment. I looked for an interesting story that would teach me to understand something I didn't understand before, or share insights to things I didn't feel/think of before, but I found none here. This doesn't mean it has to be incredibley psychological - I found that in Idolish7 or Anohana for example. This one doesn't match to them.
There are pretty irregular personalities and relationships here
...
I suppose, which is good, but I don't think we had a chance to understand them in any deep level - I feel like we're only shown these on a surface level, their actions don't make sense to me. We don't see why is the connection like it is and where does each character feel like they stand, we just get a couple of dry reasons so we're like (making up an example not from this story) "uh huh so she's crying because she was abandoned as a child", they don't feel like something I'd encounter so I would understand it on my own with no need for the anime to show me how it feels, and they also don't get explored a little and I don't see stuff that would help me get a grasp of what these reasons feel like. It's dry, you're getting information but you finish an episode and you don't feel an emotional impact because surface level drama that does't make that much sense to you is all you saw. I don't come to understand why a character acts this way, why a character feels this way, I just come to generally know the listed reason the author told me earlier and enjoy the ride.
Now, you might think maybe it was shown and I just didn't get it, and maybe it is so, but I know I don't tend to miss stuff like that, so just try watching it and keep an eye out for that. I'd drop it pretty quickly and look for other good shows. If you'd like an interesting, incredibley insightful and smart LGBT manga, I recommend Shimanami Tasogare.
i If you want a lighthearted anime to ease your mind, I'd pick one that is meant for that, like Squid Girl or Yuru Camp. I feel like watching this is kind of a waste of your time in comparison to other works that are out there.
The sound is actually beautiful, the op and ed songs are interesting and I kept noticing the beautiful background music through the anime. Kind of like Violet Evergarden's maybe, soft melodies that feel rich to me as far as I can tell. The tracks also kick in very unnoticabely and they don't take shame in silence and no track when it fits - which means a lot to me and was apparent in Idolish7 too, which is from Troyca as well.
The visual art for the backgrounds is incredibly pretty, there is no slack in the visual metaphors and they were very good in my opinion, both visually and in their meaning and presentation. If only they had actual depth to resemble thoguh.
I feel like that's about all I can say prety much. This left me feeling hollow, I don't see what's in here to like over other shows.

Kimi to boku is beautiful in its special and one of a kind way. I don't know if it would speak to anybody, maybe some people wouldn't like it even if they gave it a fair chance, but the charm isn't obvious, it doesn't jump at you as soon as you start watching it - you find the charm as you connect to it. For me that happened in episode 2, but I would understand if for others that would be different.
I don't like dividing my review to story, art, blah blah, I'll just explain.
The story, characters, and directory, are magically down to earth and
...
soft. If you watch it expecting it to be good in the manners most anime go by, it'd be slow and boring, but these turn out to be beautiful in this anime when you just go with it. I always love anime where things are very down to earth and minimal, because then the anime feels alive, it feels like it's breathing, and when a beautiful moment comes, it truly speaks loud even though it's conveyed quietly. It feels more like real life and that's really beautiful, it makes it so I get actually surprised when things happen, I get much more connected to things because they speak to me directly, which doesn't happen a lot with other anime because there I expect to find some twist or surprise - and this quiet way is beautiful. The characters seem basic, but seeing them experience more and more things makes you start to understand them more and they start being important to you - and they're also not at all basic types lie they seemed at first sight. The comedy is hilarious, absolutely brilliant, and again, special and down to earth, which makes it a lot funnier to me. I laughed out loud a lot, I have a lot of pictures and recorded moment from the anime because they made me laugh so much, the comedy is very original and clever, and it's super funny. The little senimental stories they tell through the anime always really touch my heart, as they just feel so real, and they end up both making me adore the characters, and get a beauiful modest vibe, which I'm happy to be reminded of, I forget that modest things can bring me the most happiness a lot. I also think the author is very smart, this anime gave me insights to all sorts of things, for example the way Shun's caring and soft attitude often gets people who are precieved as angry and mean by others to open up to him. It's true that mean people are usually people who are having a hard time, and it's also true that we all often don't act like Shun but more like what we always do when somebody is being mean to us, and I'm happy to be reminded of this insight this way, I hope I could be more like Shun.
The music is 12/10, it's incredible, I don't know if I've seen an anime that nailed their music managment this well before. Every soundtrack is true quality content, each song is beautiful and stylish and brings a nuanced mood with it. Whoever was responsible for the music has an amazing ear. The OST tracks end up feeling really sentimental as they're played over more and more sentimental moments in the show.
To be honest, I don't know what made this show so beautiful - but I didn't want it to be over (I'm talking about season 2 as well) and I'm super thankful that I happened to stumble upon it so many years after its release. I hope by this review I could maybe spread it even to one more person. It conveyed beautiful slice of life messages and feelings to me, it was both a 20/10 experience getting to love this cast of characters and know about more of their experiences, and to get the message of the author, to understand how I shouldn't forget that making my life simple can be the best thing sometimes.
