Since I've started this show I've thoroughly enjoyed it for both its story and its consistent animation (which also happens to be one of the show's strong points). Usually, fantasy anime can all feel...similar, but despite still making use of typical fantasy tropes, I feel the way the story is structured makes the anime more unique.

At the end of the day, this is a romance anime which there are plenty of, whilst this anime does stand out by it's titular character Alya, it's not enough to save it. In particular the character of Suou Yuki (initially thought to be the MC's childhood friend but is later revealed to be his sister) is quite frankly the most unbearable character in this show. Her sexual remarks about her brother are not funny in the slightest.
Alya's character isn't much better either, her whole character is just that she can speak Russian, other than that it's nothing that hasn't been seen before in ... |
