Mixed Feelings
This movie definitely needed at least another 30 minutes or an hour of length, or like other reviews mentioned, should have been a 12-24 episode anime.

That being said, the art and animation was gorgeous. The setting and world building really draw you in. Things start to fall apart in the story aspect though.

86 Part 2 (Anime) add
I didn't see much of the hype for 86 based on season one. Overwrought, forced drama and poor execution and pacing held back what could have been a very very good anime.

That being said, I think the director had a better idea of what to aim for after the experience of last season and it really shows with season two of 86.

Story: A lot of the mystery from last season is cleared up, while also revealing more questions to keep the viewer interested.

As an adaptation of the novel <Thousand Autumns> this only gets a 4/10. If I were rating it as a stand alone show, I'd give it a 5 or 6 out of 10. My review is spoiler free for both the donghua and novel.

Story: 4/10 Compared to the novel, the pacing is extremely rushed. Every episode features one of the climactic moments from the novel, so the show just feels like a montage of all the cool fight scenes, with very little down time in between.
