A high stakes anime with a somewhat disappointing ending.
This anime has quite a few positives, the first being that all of the characters get quite a lot of development, even if they were only minor characters that appeared in one episode. This made me feel for the characters more when they were killed during the games. I liked the main characters as well, especially Decim with his serious and cool nature. Onna was also quite an enjoyable character especially after her backstory was revealed at the end. I also found the games to be very intense, my favourite being the air hockey one. The game
...
of twister was also an enjoyable watch as well. The twists that were added to the games such as the dart boards inflicting pain in the players were well thought out and interesting. The art and animation were very good, especially at showing the emotions of the players, and I also liked the opening quite a bit.
There were some negatives for this anime but nothing too important, the first one being that the first few episodes felt quite episodic with no real plot progression and them having completely different characters and a game each episode. I also felt that some of the episodes were quite unnecessary, such as episode two which was basically just a retelling of episode one, but with some more explanation from other characters which could have been added in the previous episode. The opening also felt quite out of place with it sounding quite happy in a dark anime. There was quite minimal world building with most of it just being set in Decim's bar. I also found the ending to be a bit of a cop out and annoying when I thought a certain character was about to be brought back to life, however they end up changing their mind at the last minute.
TL;DR: The characters were developed very well and the games were quite tense. The art and animation were also good, however some episodes felt unnecessary and the ending was a bit of a cop out.

This anime was quite enjoyable but nothing too special.
It has a decent amount of positives, the first being that the art and animation were both very good and unique, which is to be expected from Trigger. I also found the baseball episode to be quite fun and exciting, and also the episode with Nina, the dolphin girl to be enjoyable. The opening and ending were also very good with their futuristic feel, and so was the world building for an anime with only 12 episodes. I found both the characters and story to be interesting and fun, my favourite character definitely being Michiru.
There were however
...
quite a few more negatives than positives for this anime. One of them being that there were quite a lot of plot conveniences, a notable example being that when Michiru ends up falling from a building later on in the anime she grows wings and is able to fly, but earlier on in the anime she falls from a building only to be saved, why didn't she grow wings then? There was another example of this in the episode with Nina, where she is suddenly able to turn back into a human even though she couldn't do this before, she also doesn't do this after showing that it was just for this one purpose. There was also quite minimal character development. All we know about Michiru's past is that she is friends with Nazuna and a few other things. There was also nearly no plot progression at all in the first half with it mostly being filler.
TL;DR: This was an enjoyable watch with fun characters and good art and animation however there were a lot of plot conveniences, filler and minimal character development.

This anime is kind of overrated in my opinion.
There were quite a few things that I liked about this anime, the first of them being the art. I thought that it looked really good, especially the character designs which I really liked. Another thing that I liked about this anime was the opening, the piano sounded really nice and I would often find myself listening to it a lot. The comedy in this anime was also done quite well, especially with the characters, such as the genius Takeyama, who often made me laugh out loud. I also liked Yui, as I found her backstory to
...
be probably the saddest part of the anime, more so than the ending. Finally, I found the concept to be quite interesting, with the whole anime being set in the afterlife and all of the characters being dead.
The main negative of this anime is probably why I didn't enjoy it really that much. This being the fact that the anime being too short meant that I didn't have any time to get emotionally invested in the characters, so when they were obliterated did I care much? Not really to be honest... This is unlike other key anime where I actually got sad.
TL;DR: I enjoyed the opening, art, characters and comedy quite a bit but it was let down a lot by being too short so I didn't care about the characters that much.

Another Isekai anime, definitely haven’t seen that before but I don’t care because I still enjoy watching these, even though there are way too many anime like this now. Anyways, The Rising of the Shield Hero follows our main protagonist, Naofumi, as he is... seriously? Transported to another world... However, I think this might turn out to be a bit better than your average Isekai anime.
Anyways, there is a legend of four heroes, each with different weapons a sword, spear, bow, and the odd one out, a shield who defend the kingdom of Melromarc from waves of disaster and monsters. Four heroes are then summoned
...
to Melromarc, including Naofumi, our shield hero, and the others.
Personally I thought the art and animation were quite good, better than the average anime but not violet evergarden levels, I think Kinema Citrus is quite a good studio and have made some good anime, there best in my opinion being Made in Abyss which I thought had very good animation. I also liked the character designs even though they are kind of generic isekai medieval themed designs. My favourite design is probably Raphtalia so far. Naofumi’s in my opinion is kind of boring... the backgrounds are also very good. I especially liked the animation when the waves were coming, I thought the sky looked quite cool. The voice acting is also very good however it is in pretty much all anime somehow. The opening was also very good and hyped me up for the show. However I found the ending a bit boring and generic.
Time to talk about the characters! Personally I don’t really think the character development is that good so far but we’re only three episodes in so I’m sure it will improve. I didn’t really like how Raphtalia just suddenly grew up, I thought it would have been better if we’d have seen her improve in battle. She’ll probably improve more but still a shame. Everyone also thinks she’s really cute and gives her free food now... What happened to hating the Demi-Humans? The girl Naofumi apparently sexually assaulted seemed dominant and aggressive towards him and no one has noticed? Naofumi has also been holding a pickaxe and various other things that can be used as weapons but I thought he couldn’t use any?
In conclusion I think so far this is quite a good anime I found it enjoyable but wouldn’t say it was amazing yet, it’s still an isekai and had some minor plot holes. Hopefully this turns out to be a good anime. It’s 25 episodes and the light novel has good reviews so I think it will turn out well!

Kaguya-Sama: Love is War is a rom-com anime but doesn’t have your typical rom-com plot, instead we have two characters that don’t want to confess their love for one another because they are too prideful and think of this as a weakness. In the show, they battle and try to get the other to confess and who ever does first loses. This results in a great comedy anime that I’m really enjoying so far!
This anime is being done by A-1 pictures who either seem to make really good anime or anime that isn’t so good. But so far this one is looking great, at certain
...
points I was laughing out loud, especially during episode 2, when our main ‘couple’, Shirogane and Shinomiya were arguing whether they should go to the mountains or the beach, and episode 4, where everyone could speak french apart from Shirogane. I thought that the funniest part was when Kaguya didn’t know what your ‘first time’ was. I love how overly dramatic and serious the main couple is and it contrasts with the ditzy girl Fujiwara. At moments I found this anime kind of chaotic but not confusing and it just added to the comedy. The story relies quite a lot on the narrator in the earlier episodes, who some people might find a bit annoying, and the internal monologue inside of our characters heads. We know what the characters are thinking but no one else does and they think completely different to how they act, which results in this being a great comedy anime.
A-1 pictures has done a really good job with the animation so far and I really like the character designs as well, my favourite being Shinomiya’s. The characters red and black uniforms looks quite cool and I like the art style as well, even though it looks kind of generic. The opening is great and I feel that you will either love it or hate it and personally l loved it, it doesn’t sound like your average anime opening. I also like the ending and especially the special one in episode 3 with Fujiwara dancing which was really well animated and smooth. I also think the voice acting is great, my favourite being Koga’s voice acting as Shinomiya.
Personally, there isn’t really anything that I can think of that I’m not enjoying about the show, which is very rare. Overall I am really enjoying this anime and so far it is one of my favourites of winter 2019. Start watching it if you haven’t already!

Mob Psycho 100 is back!
Let’s start of the art, personally I really like the art of this series, it looks amazing even though the characters have quite simple designs because of how fluid the animation is and how well drawn the backgrounds are. Even though the character designs are quite simple it doesn’t mean they’re bad, I like Mob’s basic design because I think it fits his personality. He isn’t a very interesting character in my opinion and doesn’t say much but I think that his character is improving. Personally, I prefer Reigen’s character and his design and find him to be funnier and more
...
interesting even though he isn’t as well developed of a character as Mob who found out at a young age that his psychic powers are linked to his emotions which he tries to suppress which makes him a bit boring in my opinion, he is also quite socially awkward which I think also makes him a bit boring. I still like him though somehow, but I prefer Reigen.
I like that Reigen is a con artist, but he is still a nice person which is shown when he has stood up for and helped Mob on several occasions, I also think he has a better design. Mob’s character improved in one of the most recent episodes where there was a ghost family and he didn’t want to exorcise them because they weren’t doing anything wrong, it showed that mob wasn’t just someone that followed what Reigen and the other characters told him to do and it developed him as a character a bit more. He has also started voicing his own opinion now which has made me like him as a character more, he also nearly got a girlfriend and even when she said she had only asked him out because she lost a bit, he wasn’t angry, because he has to suppress his emotions, he also put her book back together for her with his psychic powers.
Personally, I think that the story hasn’t been as interesting as the first season so far, It seems to have been more slice of life with no real progression, but we are only four episodes in, and due to recent developments in episode four, the most recent episode as of writing this review, I think the story will start progressing from now. There have been some funny moments in this season so far, such as the dashing granny and their customers not paying. There isn’t really much else to say about the story so far as we are only four episodes in but so far, I think it has been good.
One of my favourite parts about Mob Psycho 100 II is the animation, which is just as amazing as the first season, the animation is very fluid, there is always stuff going on and the backgrounds are well drawn. You can tell studio Bones likes Mob Psycho 100 and are a talented studio for the animation to be this good. I also think that Mob Psycho 100 has quite a unique art style and studio Bones has adapted the animation to fit this. I also think the sound is very good, the opening and ending themes are also amazing, most people seem to prefer the opening of the first season, but I prefer the second opening. It hyped me up for the show and didn’t have that annoying counting that the first opening had where they seemed to skip half of the numbers. I also liked the ending but no where near as much as the unique opening, the ending just seemed a bit generic and lacklustre. The voice acting is also very good, my favourite voice actor is Reigen’s. I find Mob’s a bit boring but it fits the character however.
Overall, I am enjoying season 2 of Mob psycho 100 quite a lot however not as much as the first season so far, it hasn’t really had any progression, but I think that will soon change. It is Mob Psycho 100 after all, and I think I will have really enjoyed season 2 once it ends. Sorry if the review wasn't that good, It's my second anime review. I'm looking forward to watching more of season 2 and am interested how this season will end!
