Watched the first 6 episodes of Studio Trigger's new series. It's pretty mid so far. Animation and music are spectacular at least, as you'd expect from Trigger.
The show so far deals with race and gender relations; the pharmaceutical industry exploiting people; the ethics of religion. None of this is one-sided agitprop like you would see from a lot of modern Western trash from Hollywood, it just background elements used as a springboard to tell a story. Japan is still largely concerned with entertaining first, thankfully.
