Both are themed regrets, redemption and communication. It bears a same question for the main protagonist: "Am I allowed to have this much fun?" which leads to an important message to not give up, open up the heart even if it tears you apart and support others, like you want to be supported. You are, not alone.

- Slice of life with high school settings - Characters come to terms with their true feelings, understand more about themselves and others - You might cry at the end for the beautiful of the friendship Both of the anime gives departure a meaning with memories, but it's also shown that departure is not the end, it's a new beginning.

Both have the girl protagonist that seems tough on the outside but is fragile inside, and has a dark past trauma. The male protagonist serves as the protector and always stay by her side as her emotional support no matter how much the complaints can be. They fall in love eventually, in both cases.

Both have titles that don't make sense unless you watched it till the very end which will be revealed that increase the impact of the story. The cheerful and optimistic girl and the antisocial boy hanging out with their own story and adventure to be remembered as a flashback at the last scenes to bring tears to your eyes. Both reminds you to live your life to the fullest and the importance of appreciating your own existence. The stories started in spring. Where the sakura blossoms in spring.

Both have amazing intro and outro, with the portrayal of each character and their personality. Final episode is said to be the climax where the tittle only make sense after watching it and tears will be dropped, supposedly. Also, both will show you how hidden feelings and emotions can make you feel warm inside and yet to be filled with regrets. It's a play on secrets and drama of a few teenagers with their own story to tell.

Both are made by the same production team, Kyoto Animation, and hence they managed to bring out the emotions to the highest level, giving both anime a sad and beautiful story to cry to. These two anime are the only ones that I managed to relate in spiritual level and to shed tears to. Romance, comedy and realistic human interaction at its finest.

Dantalian no Shoka

Both of the anime has a lead male that serve as protector of the lead girl character. The girl characters have quite a lot of similarities between their personality, their appearances and their own quirks. They both are kinda short with long hair, like to eat sweet foods, has a short temper, smart and knowledgeable, always complaining on the male character and even kick them in the leg for saying something that they shouldn't have. Both anime also has sorrowful theme songs for opening and ending that can let you feel the theme right away and reach into your heart. Both are set in the post-war era where there's still parasol and horse carriages around. Gosick has a deeper approach on the story with the explanation and the logical thinking of how the mystery works while Dantalian no Shoka involves more of a supernatural suspense coming out of books and some more interesting characters. Nevertheless, both anime show the bond between the 2 lead characters and the adventure that they share as they walk together into the deeper unknown.

Violet Evergarden is a more dramatic and holds a deeper understanding of human emotions and the portrayal of the life itself. Plastic memories has quite some similarities as mentioned by others, as it's more light-hearted with a bit of cringy romance and the very definition of love and memory itself, which could be taken away, hence the word 'plastic'. The outro and intro for both anime is very well made and the songs can reach your heart into the very deep region. I personally prefer Violet Evergarden more but you should watch both, and see if which is to your liking. After all, they both will make you cry, definitely.

Bungou Stray Dogs and Katekyo Hitman Reborn both involves the protagonist having friends around him that will support him and always by his side no matter what happened, each also has an unique characteristics with special power related to it. Both of this series also shows the serious moment against the enemy and playful moment of the main character with his respective friends. And yeah, both of the series involve mafia. I went straight for Bungou Stray Dogs after finishing Hitman Reborn and I'm quite satisfied with it. The order of sequence won't matter that much cause both of them are a great anime. Nevertheless, give it a try!
