I don’t know how to rate this series. I have yet to read Uzumaki, it’s a shame that not a single Junji Ito anime adaptation can come out good, should just leave it to the books, honestly. To point out the bad aspects of the show which can be clear to anyone, animation quality drop, which isn’t entirely as bad as I thought it would be, but it still isn’t as good as it was, lack of expression/plain faces when characters are supposed to be terrified, too fast of a pace where there is no build up to feel truly disturbed, and it has the

sort of writing where I was questioning almost every action from the characters, I understand the shock factor is the main selling point and so most things aren’t supposed to make sense, but even then I feel like some explanations are due for certain scenes.
To go on about what I actually like about the show: the whacky nature of some scenes were just too nonsensical for me to not laugh which made the experience more entertaining, the art-style, even after the drop in quality is still there and makes this show unique, and did deliver its purpose of being creepy (got a bit of chills a couple times) and to be the creepiest anime I have ever watched. It still has one episode left but I genuinely do not know how I would rate this, going by the rating system I wouldn’t call it bad, good, or average. “Fine” could work but I feel as though that is too high for the sake of irony.
Overall opinion: Bad pacing and animation quality, but still creepy, (personally) funny, and appealing to watch for the art style.
