Both start off very light hearted with some comedy and action but as the story develops it turns into a more serious and dark story. Both shows have major changes in the characters as they remember their past. They both are awesome and have intriguing stories that develop well.

There are characters from Pretear that remind me of Pricilla. I enjoy characters like her. Pretear is about the chosen one to stop the big bad, while Gun X Sword is about people out for revenge. One is sci-fi, while the other is fantasy. I do have to say though, that Pretear did make me think about Gun X Sword. They have similar art styles.

Both have powerful beings. One serves a single individual. The others are created by an organzation for dark purposes. Gungrave has great action. Ah My goddess doesn't.
