Mission Yozakura Family... ok this one has grown a lot.
I started reading this one at I think chapter 39 and it so far hasn't been letting me up even once.
Story 8/10
The story of Mission Yozakura Family is slightly overshadowed by Spy x Family which also has a similar concept but an entirely different execution. While Spy x Family's story is there mostly to support the characters and their comedic interactions, MYF's story is it's own beast. Most chapters early on are their own contained stories which serve to set the scene for what follows. However after that starts a game of mystery and action

surrounding the Yozakura family and the fate of Taiyo's family as well as their fight with a multinational organisation of criminals. That whole plot however as generic as it sounds pales in comperason to me to the romance plot that happens between Mutsumi and Taiyo. Wholesome.
Art 9/10
The art of the series is amaizing. The character designs are very saying of who they are as a person as well as a support to their comedic shinanigans that happen on screen. On a technical level its nothing to write home about in Shonen Jump's massive library of protegy artists. However how it plays out makes me put it in as high place as I do. Hitsuji's artstyle can translate from absolutely hilarious to adorably wholesome and finally to impossibly badass.
Characters 10/10
Despite raiting the former 2 as high as I did they wouldn't be nearly as impactful to my opinion of this manga without the support of one of the most destinct and fun cast of characters I have seen to date. Starting from our protagonists being Taiyo and Mutsumi we see the more normal part of our cast. Normal as in - not eccentric spy. Taiyo in perticular is suddenly pluced out his daily life and told to become a spy inside the most prestigous spy families in the world. This makes for a majority of the series' comedic moments as a sort of a "straight man" gag. However despite that being the case the rest of the Yozakura Family are in my opinion even better. None of the characters inside are purely one dimensional and through the course of 77 chapters I have grown to love every single one of them nearly as much as our main character. To say more of them is to spoil too much in my opinion so I will leave it for you to see. That said the series also has a delightful if… slightly overshadowed supporting side cast which fills in the gaps to near perfection.
Overall 9/10
So I am a very simple person. One thing that you will not find in MYF is emmense depth. This is a romcom series with a lot of well done action and some mystery/moral stories mixed in to great effect. It does not reach the heights of Spy x Family nor of some of its other competators in Shonen Jump. Despite that its a fantasically executed story which I think you'll enjoy even if you aren't a fan of the spy gerne.
