One of my most anticipated animes of the year. The one I thought that would be remarkably beautiful and meaningful. All I can say is that it for sure did not let me down.
Mahoutsukai no Yome or The Ancient Magus' Wife focuses on an unorindary couple Chise, a girl with red hair known as a Sleigh Beggy, and an unusual creature with a skull as his head known as a Elias.

who love fantasy and magic, this show has a great grasp on these two genres and is also original in many ways when it comes to these two genres.
Story: 10
The story follows Chise who is being sold at an auction. She is known as an Sleigh Beggy which is extremely rare. Elias ends up buying her at this auction and brings her to his home and refers to her as his wife. The story progresses with many internal conflicts within Chise being solved. Her struggle to continue to live due to her past is one of her biggest conflicts within the story. She also learns magic throughout the story with help from Elias and others. As the story continues she meets many individuals on the way which all equally impact how she will end up in the future as a person.
The story is original and is amazing at the way it transitions from situation to situation. Not every episode is a situation or conflict that the characters have to face. This makes a good balance for the anime and really fits well with the story and pace.
Art: 10
Beautiful. Many scenes in this anime is absolutely beautiful. The art style is beautiful and all the characters have something major that differentiates them from each other.
Sound: 10
Music was always fitting with each scene. The openings were beautiful and always sounded nice. I could never find myself to skip them because they were so catchy and just beautiful. The OSTs are also very personalized to every character and situation. The voice of actors do an amazing job as well. Elias is an character that typical feels or shows any emotion through the anime. The voice actor with this character does a great job to deliver his lines while accounting for how Elias is. The voice actor for Chise does an amazing job as well, Chise has a difficult past which she constantly is numb from and remembers, but at the same time she tries her best to be positive and be loyal to Elias. The voice actor for Chise does a great job taking both of these things in account when she voices Chise.
Character: 10
Chise: Despite her troubling past which she is still numb about she does her best to make those around her happy and please Elias. She tries to forget her past and focus on the present and look on the brighter side of things as best as she can. Chise also has a bad habit of trying to help those around her more than herself.
Elias: Elias does not show any to no emotion during the anime. However there are times where he will experience an emotion and not understand what it is. He falls in love with Chise and does his best to protect and care for her which can sometimes lead him to doing something he isn't supposed to. Elias sometimes can also end up being lonely when Chise isn't around.
Enjoyment: 10
I personally enjoyed the show. I found myself always waiting for the next episode in excitement and curiosity. With many shows I do not watch the episode the day it comes out, but after a few days. However with this anime I always watched the episode on the day it came.
Overall: 10
Remarkable and beautiful, this was a show that truly touched my heart with it's amazing scenes and cute romance. It was truly an amazing show and I wouldn't mind re-watching it one more time.
