The good about this show it Violet herself, quality of art and music.
Bad is almost everything else.
This show tries to be "right, nice and normal" way too much, just like Nibutani Shinka from Chunibyo. It panders to boomers pacifist hippy views way too much. As if just stopping all wars going to just magically solve everything. This is some sort of conservative dis/utopia (not my kind of utopia) show, that Hayayo Miazaki and One Piece keep making for their fans. Everyone here respects parents, elderly and women. Most men are filled with some form of guilt and most women are all too confident about
...
themselves and make men chase after them. I guess to those who like these things it is a masterpiece or something.
Now back to good things. Music is good, art is of very high fidelity. On this level work is flawless.
Now the most important good thing in the show: Violet herself. She is like older Henrietta from Gunslinger Girl. Just as loyal to her master and deadly to his enemies. The kind of qualities I very much appreciate in a woman.
However unlike Gunslinger Girl where Henrietta just keeps killing for Guise ((this guy https://myanimelist.net/character/2024/Jose_Croce), she calls him Guise-san, that is what I remember), here Gilbert dies and Violet has to find a new purpose for herself. Gunslinger Girl too explores similar issues with Claes and possibly Angelica as well, do not remember the details.
Here however people around Violet all try to make her become more human and more selfish possibly. Even Gilbert actually wanted that from her.
In contrast while Guise liked the cute girl appeal of Henrietta, he actually wanted her to perform her duties as his tool well enough. That did confused Henrietta though.
Henrietta though did her duties well for the most of the show, I remember last episodes rather poorly though.
In contrast Violet is rather unstable at times. Occasionally goes very emotional and runs off somewhere.
I however like the way Violet talks in a very technical and factual way. Though I probably like the cozy warmth of Henrietta somewhat more. However both are good.
Overall I have a mixed feeling about it. It is not as focused on Violet as I would like it to be. In this regard episodes 8 or 9 was the best of them all. Though I do not remember which part of her flashback was the best.
For those who liked Violet I can certainly recommend this https://myanimelist.net/anime/134/Gunslinger_Girl great anime with a awesome selection of mini-Violets
For pacifist hippy tories I can recommend One Piece and Hayayo Miazaki (Studio Ghibli) movies, they have so many you will never run out of stuff to watch. We only got 13 episodes of Gunslinger Girl, world is unfair and needs to be changed.

Kong Ming is a really awesome person who carries this otherwise mediocre show to the level of good.
The way he reacts to things and how people react to him is really cool.
Various stratagems and tricks he uses to get his way and promote Eiko are really ingenious. He is not as smart as Lelouch or creative like Kaiji, but he is smart and creative nevertheless. In fact smart and creative enough to manage to promote even someone like Eiko.
Even great generals needed assistant tacticians, that is why Lelouch recruited Toudou and 4 Holy Swords for example.
The rest of the show is mostly about world of
...
aspiring musicians who lament their poor fortunes. It is realistic enough to not scream nonsense at you and rather insightful to follow. Kabetaijin and Nanami are sympathetic, Eiko is mixed bag.
In fact after the Kong Ming himself, lethargic and disillusioned Nanami was probably the other best thing of the show. That is the kind of sad that appeals to me. So I did not liked it when she got back into her old lively self at the end of the episode 12. Also her hair is good in both plain and twin tail versions, but her Azalea consume is better without mask.
Overall I would recommend it to anyone. Kong Ming definately carries this show and Nanami is a good bonus.

I wrote a separate blog post about girls of Chunibyo, you can find it on my MAL profile page blog.
However this show deserves a proper overall review.
Overall it is rather gentle and cozy show in best traditions of KyoAni.
It does however tackles rather serious psychological questions and gives different points of view regarding so called Chunibyo or 8th grader syndrome.
Rikka's sister, Yuuta and Nibutani oppose it believing in being 'normal'. Though Nibutani and Yuuta relent in the end of the show and embrace Rikka's way of life.
In contrast Rikka clings to it to escape cruel reality that has nothing in it for her but pain
...
and misery.
I do not like that is it about her father as I hate my parents. If if was over some other issue I would have probably given this show 8.
However the point is pretty clear, as clear as her phrase 'Vanishment This World'. For those who are too dumb to look up the dictionary what vanishment is, it means disappear. Thus the phrase mean to convey that she wants this world to disappear. She does not like it and has good reasons to.
I am very sympathetic to her for this. I think that you should not fit into shit you do not want or like just to be 'normal'. You should strive to change the world to feet your vision of how it should be. Or engage in escapism if you have no power to do so.
After all these so called 'normal' rules were simply made up by old men to suit themselves and they do nothing good for younger generations.
So we should simply destroy their rules and replace them with ours better rules. Then we can strive and prosper in our own unique way. So we should not listen to old people's vile lies and their useless ways that will get you nowhere. I am actually telling this from experience as almost everything my parents used to say were nothing but lies that does not work in real life.
Of course later as we get older, we in turn will defend these new rules, we have created, from our own kids. Because history repeats itself after all. However that is a separate issue.
Back to the show, Rikka of course has no any real power to actually change the world. In Lelouch's terms she is a powerless corpse pretending to be alive. The only thing she can do is, to quote Revy from Black Lagoon, "think happy thoughts" and pretend to be Wicked Eye.
That said Kumin handles the world best of them all. She openly naps in school to keep herself well rested. She does not give a fuck for being 'normal', but simultaneously never gets in trouble with anyone for anything she does. She looks at the stuff that is going on from a safe distance and enjoys herself as much as she wants/can.
That is what I call a well adapted person. The way Kumin dodges all sort of shit that life could possibly throw at her direction is really great. She is a small target to begin with.
I would like a girlfriend who can just like Kumin help me dodge various rules and problems with other people. My friend Fedya was able to do that really well back in the days. With someone like Kumin I will be able to do whatever I want when I want and how I want.
In fact CC is a higher incarnation of the Kumin's basic traits. She solves problems on much greater scale in much grander fashion.
Surely I want a Revolution and a complete change of how this world works. However in the meantime I can settle of someone who works out cheat-sheets to this shit and helps me dodge the problems.
Unrelated to this show, but in the second season they ruined characters of most of the cast. Especially Kumin, but also Rikka.

This is actually a very funny show in best tradition of Gintama.
Unlike Ginatama that mostly satirizes pop culture trends and such this one hits heavily at social issue instead. Issues such as high housing prices are well represented in this show. It fully supports my anti-boomer stances as it depicts fights of younger generation to wrestle out property from the old people.
Unfortunately it is very small, but these four episodes are fully worth watching.
Quality of animation is average, but story does makes up for that.
Yes it is in Chinese and not Japanese. I would say that Chinese are good a humor.
Also who calls a girl
...
XiaoHong (small fire). You should not call girls fire, even small one. That will back fire as they might turn out too fiery for everyone good.
I can fully recommend it to everyone.

Nice, if rather sad story.
I really sympathize with Oburi and Sawa as well as their plan to kill Akai and free themselves of his manipulations. Sawa in particualr had to put up with a lot of shit. Oburi too had to deal that nasty Akai. In the end Sawa had to lie to Akai to silence his vigilance and save Oburi.
Oburi and Sawa make for a nice couple. The show writes their romance rather clumsy though, which is a shame. I wish their time together was more like Takaki and Akari from Byosoku 5cm, or Sakakibara and Mei from Another. It is sad that
...
Oburi was killed by that girl who used to play basketball. For whatever reason they did not want to give us a happy ending.
It has some good action too, though it is clumsily written at times.
The premise is rather dubious. Akai is somewhat of a paedophile, yet he also secretly hunts down and kills other paedophiles. That does seem illogical to me.
Akai is not only a paedophile but also murderer, liar and traitor. He killed Sawa's parents, and lied to her that it was not him to make her work for him. He employed Oburi as assassin, while also secretly plotted to kill him. Akai set Oburi against well prepared and armed target, Sawa saved him. When that failed Akai made that girl who played basketball to sneakily kill him unguarded.
Finally there is sex. Girls look like they have fully develop adult bodies, but are visibly smaller than males in the story. That was probably done for censorship reasons.
Overall this reminds of how cruel and evil humans can be. It bugs me that there are too many parallels between Akai and my dad. I cannot know for sure if he is a paedophile or murderer, but he sure is traitor and a liar in a similar to Akai way.
Overall I can recommend this story. It is rather fast paced so it is easy to miss many important details. However it is rather short overall and plot worth it to pay attention.

This is actually a deep and profound show with sophisticated plot and complex characters. As complex as that Legendary Bikini Armor that fools cannot see it and only intelligent people can. /irony
In actuality this show does not have any more plot than the amount of clothes that heroines wearing. However it does not make it bad.
This show is rather fun to watch. It has whole two rather likable females in it. That is 50% of the cast. I am talking about timid, gentle, polite and small mage mostly. A so self-sacrificing crusader is also good for the most part. Other girls are also alright overall.
Overall
...
this sure is simple and primitive show, but it does what it need to do really well. Therefore I can recommend it to anyone.

This anime is really guilty of false advertisement.
I will begin with what is bad about it.
First of all there is no real harem. Most other girls only appear in the epilogue and in the opening sequence.
Second. All video game aspects are lazily done. Monster selection is few. For the first half of the show he basically fights the same type on enemy in the identically looking corridors of the same maze.
Third is excessive details of hardships and privation of medieval life like bathing in barrels surely could have been avoided.
Fouth. I rarely complain about slow pace of any show but this one is somewhat too
...
slow.
Good things are few.
Roxanne is rather likable girl overall. She has some flaws, but overall almost a waifu material. Though it is somewhat hard to tell if it is male MC who spoils Roxanne or she herself has some assertiveness.
Seri is better girl overall. Smaller and more girly in general.
Other harem girls do not get enough screentime to tell anything.
Lack of more significant flaws like violent tsundere girls, sub MC and other stuff I hate can be considered a positive thing as well.
Overall it can be considered a deeply flawed, but with more positives over negatives experience.

Overall it is a good show with some flaws here and there.
Middle episodes are better than beginning or the end.
Unfortunately it falls into uncanny valley between high stakes tragedy and light drama.
In tragedy, where fates characters and the world at stake, bitter fight tooth and nail over often one's very survival is justified and make a lot of sence.
On the other hand in light drama such as Gochiusa where they argue over coffee, afraid of ghost and bunnies and upset that one puzzle piece is lost able to showcase girls as weak, vulnerable, harmless and overall very sexy and fuckable.
Here however there are terse personality
...
clashes, bitterness and crazy walkouts. Kind of the girl drama that men so much want to avoid. However only some episodes are guilty of that and others are much more chill, otherwise I would have given it much lower score.
Also it is a waifu show with a ok selection of girls. Though these girls are not as likable as in Gochiusa or even Dolls Frontline.
Overall while it is worse than the shows I mentioned above, it is better than many others.
So I will recommend it nonetheless.

While it is somewhat worse than its immediate predecessor, Bofuri 2 still has the same good vibe that made its predecessor so nice.
Unlike many other shows that include even more Recent Strike Witches, Bofuri 2 manages to keep the same feel as it's predecessor.
Maple is still her usual humble, gentle and cheerful self. She still does crazy things like eating hydra and what not. She carries the show all the same as in the original.
On the negative side are somewhat repetitive battles with no real tactics and somewhat random outcomes. Lack of good ideas for new skills and abilities. Dubious design of some new enemies.
On
...
the good side is the environment and buildings design of some new levels. It is really good. However crew spends too little time in new zones so you do not get enough of them.
Overall I can still recommend it. There are just few good shows nowadays so watch this one.

That is very simple and lightheaded experience that crosses Code Geass with Alice in Wonderland.
Despite rather simple premise and very basic execution. It is very fun and overall pleasant experience.
Nunnally is basically Alice here and various Code Geass characters fill the roles of various Wonderland denizens. I would not spoil who is who in this one, however all of them seem fit their roles rather well.
Overall it is funny and creative story. Characters manage to both act very in character for themselves and be somewhat unpredictable at the same time. Even if you are familiar with Alice in Wonderland and other Lewis Carroll characters
...
this show will still manage to surprise you. You will keep guessing when this or that character will appear and who will it be.
Overall I can recommend it as a simple relaxed break of pace story.
