As someone who have read the manga(not the light novel just yet apart from vol 1) the anime is a horrible adaption.
Just with the first episode, everything went wrong. They removed THE BEGINNING ARC WHICH IS ON MATTY'S CHILDHOOD, which establishes matty's character, his family and even world building. Just this one small arc, already tell us a lot of their world.

other hand, is a joke, an absolute joke compared to manga matty, to the point that they don't even feel like the same character.
Anime Matty, is a kind man, who help others and isn't cocky or self centered where even the tone and way of speech is completely different then the manga matty
Pacing, is horrendous. They rushed off ep 1, removed majority of the world building that's set up in the beginning arc just to rush off the remaining chunk of the first arc and the second ep, they just rushed off explanation and even the fight felt rushed. THe third episode is slightly better in terms of pacing but the fight was just...bad, and the explanation is again, rushed.
THe comedy that's presence in the manga, is removed. Whether it's Matty's cocky and self center comments, or the quirky and funny side characters, is completely removed, even if they are comedy, it felt force and wasn't funny or enjoyable
Overall, DON'T watch the anime, READ the manga or the light novel, which is SO much better executed and written
