The main theme for this manga is stars, and the wide sky seen at night, with all it's twinkling little stars... and of course it is about the relationship between two guys.
The story explores the awkward relationship between two cousins- Enji and Mizuho. It starts out as the relationship between two "strangers", despite the fact that their families are supposed to meet eachother every year, they haven't seen eachother for seven years, because Mizuho decided to avoid Enji for a reason [which is shown in the manga].
Normally, when I see the genre "yaoi" I automatically think of little plot and a lot of male
...
x male sex [they normally outbalance eachother in that way, regardless of what a lot of people may thing]. However, this story was completly reversed to that general impression.
You could even say that the first four chapters are strictly shounen-ai, and that at a VERY light level.
The art was very standard, I have no idea if I should call it beautiful, or bland and overdone.
Because, I think it was a mixture of them all.
I found it beautiful in that I could easily distinguish all the characters, yet bland in that I have seen it SO many times [it is pretty typical shoujo art].
I enjoyed it, however- and did not find it hard to read at all.
The characters are probably also one of the strong points of this manga, especially the two main characters [though I found Mizuho a bit annoying from time to time, with all his doubts and unnecesary complaints and misunderstandings]. I really liked Enji though- he's the typical "I want to tell him SO badly... but....-lets tell him- [ends in complete failure]" =(=( Kind of guy. xD
I really enjoyed this manga- try it! ;)

I really enjoyed this manga a lot, and thought it had a rather unique plot, yet sticking to the typical "shoujo" standard.
The story is about a girl, who met a boy in a beautiful garden five years ago. Suddenly, he moved with no reason as to why, and ever since has she looked after the garden [because he said she was allowed to, before he disapeared] wishing to see the boy again someday.
One day, she meets a rather mean boy who she recons remind her of the boy she met all those years ago... but is he?
And so the story goes on...
I know this
...
sounds like the typical "girl meets boy after not seeing him for five years" kind of manga... but I am sure you will find a few surprises in the plot.
Some of them even made me cry... because... I didn't want to believe that really happened. xD
The only thing I could really say is a let-down of the manga is it's old art style [I have nothing against the art style... it is just that I have gotten accustomed to the more modern, versetile art style used nowadays].
It is in no way clustered, or annoying though. =)
One of the real ups about this manga, in my opinion, was the characters.
The main girl, Chika is a real cuty who loves flowers [something that goes through the whole manga]. However, she does develop throughout the manga [as seen by her actually giving her mother a bouquet in one of the chapters, where previously she started crying and threw a connondrum just of the thought of meeting her mother in person]. She also reflects a lot about what she would like to do in the future, because a lot of the people she encounter already has this maped out for themselves.
The main boy, Asakura is a real brainteaser. In the beginning he passes of as your typical mean-boy, I suppose. Sort of teasy at all times, and just plain... mean. He often comes into fight with Chika, and generally seems stubborn and unwilling to show he true emotions. However, from time to time, the reader is shown a softer, more relaxed him... which simply left me perplexed and puzzled, and intrigued me to get to know his full story. Because I simply knew there was something more to it than a rich man's child. =)
To sum it up- I really enjoyed this manga, and actually ended up learning a lot about flowers afterwards.
A very good manga to read for those who wants some old, shoujo stories with a cute little twist.

If there ever was a story worthy of praise- it would honest, to life be Fruits Basket.
For, it is not one of those typical mangas where the main protagonist is a good-for-nothing clumsy [Tohru is clumsy... but never mind that] girl, whose life gets delivered to her lap on a silver platern. No, this is a manga where ones happiness is earned through honest effort, good friends, and the person herself who brings everyone together in the end [because of her personal experiences], Tohru.
The way in which this manga is paced, introduced and concluded is brilliantly woven into a story perhaps a bit
...
non-puzzling.
The way in which it introduces its characters is peculiar, because it is done in a way that makes all the characters memorable in their own way- I swear, I could possibly name all the 12 animals of the zodiac, and from there describe their individual story.
If not remembering their name, I remember their zodiac sign.
For it is that unforgetable.
The story itself is pretty simple- a girl getting to know about the deep secrets of the Sohma family, thereafter meeting each and everyone of them. Learning about them, healing them and recieving a special place in their hearts.
Which is pretty much all she does, and is what pretty much concludes the story.
The art is simple, and beautiful. Nothing to flaw about it, because it fits the theme- the seriousness, the silliness, the warmth perfectly.
So, who are the characters you ask?
Tohru- a clumsy, air headed girl- whose parents have both died. Because she does not wish to trouble her friends while her Grandpa [who took her in] is gone, she moves into a tent in the middle of the woods. She has a peculiar gift of talking her way [through her mothers words] into others heart.
Kyo- the Cat of the zodiac [though he's not one of the twelve zodiac animals...]. He is shunned by all, and hates Yuki, the rat. He is a rather hot headed, though kind fella.
Yuki- the Rat of the zodiac, your typical kind and conciderate "prince". In my opinion- he has a somewhat split personality problem, couse he seems rather cold sometimes [to me at least... I don't like him much -nod nod-].
Arisa Uotani- One of Tohru's friends, a "delinquent". Her big inspiration in life was Tohru's mother, and she holds true to that, for she still loves her even after death. She loves Tohru very much, and threatens to beat people up from time to time.
Saki Hanajime- Tohru's other friend. She is seen as a pretty weird person, and she ALWAYS wears black, no matter what. She can read peoples thoughts and send weird, electrical signals. She also notices that there is something "different" with the Sohma people.
Akito- probably the biggest antagonist of the story. Can't really tell much about this person, because most of it is spoilers. Lets just say, I took a liking to him near the end.
And lots more; including some of my favorites- Momiji, Haru, Ayame [xD], Rin [She comes in a little bit late in the manga, and doesn't even get an entrance in the anime...].
Among others, of course.
The enjoyment of this series is absolute- whatever the reason for picking it up, it will have you laughing, rejoycing, crying and more without fail in doing so.
Enjoy reading. =)

I gave this an overall , not because it was bad in any way- but because it is ... so... digimon...
First time I watched this season, was in Spain actually- in Spanish... and I had NO idea it was digimon, at all. It was only a couple of years later that I realised it was [I only watched some of the episode, one were one of the kids transformed, and then I saw those small thingies... the "book keapers"].
I have watched this at least twice...
Let me explain.
Story: I actually liked this story plot... because it had more depth in it than the previous series, or
...
so it is in my opinion. Digimon Tamers might have a bit more of a sinister plot than this one, but still. I really liked it because it was more than just the "children goes to digiworld and meets digimon... then saves the world after finding out they had the ability inside of themselves from the start!"
In this season, they go on an adventure and find the spirits! Which thereafter helps THEM digiwolve [ an improvement from the children just standing on the side lines, screaming- then the digimons evolve... ]. Of course, they do end up saving the world!
Art: It was... different, I suppose.
Sound: I LOVED the opening sound to this season. Best so far...
Character: Errm... they were pretty standard [Goggle main guy, the emo kid who doesn't want to attach to others, but ends up with the "friendship crest...", the girl [this one reminded me of ... Mimi from first season... can't remember if that was her name? The pink haired one x3], the little guy [TK!!!], and awkward guy... this one turned out to be a bit different from the previous ones... Cody, and them... also there was evil guy who turns out to be good!].
Enjoyment: Well, obviously I enjoyed this very much, in relation to the fact that I watched it two times... was going on my third time right before writting this...

This was one of the most enjoyable collection of one-shots I have ever read.
This is based on what I have read so far.
Story~
I gave this manga a rating of "1" in the story department; couse... to be honest, it does not have a general story to it. With one exception I have seen so far, which is the 4th story... which has two parts to it.
Still, there is not a real story to this manga, and I redeem it to get a "1" because of this. Even though I loved each one-shot.
Art~
The art is just simply adorable, and the expressions used always shows
...
exactly what every character is feeling.
Character~
Although this is a one-shot, and maybe because it is a collection of one-shots, you get a great indepth feel to every character involved, in one way or another. Most of the stories don't simply tell what the characters are doing it, but they actually express what they feel, and why they express what they are feeling.
I reckon it is an ingenious way of compiling one-shots, and you even see individual characters developing throughout their individual story.
Im just astounded, as the stories dont actually have must of a story-line, but the characters develop a great deal.
Very well dont indeed.
Enjoyment~
I can't say anything more than; I cried. And I laughed. And I felt with every character in the stories.
I do not think that any one of the one-shots did not make me cry, or laugh.
I just loved it, soso much.
Im speechless over how much I enjoyed these stories =3
Overall~
I'd just like to say EVERYONE should read these stories. They are so heart-warming its a disgrace not to read them.
Also, I would like to add that the connection to the buses in every story makes these stories very intresting {tries to refrain from using that word... my english teacher tells me its a bad word ^^}, they actually play a major role in the stories.
That's all.
Read it =3

Oki, it might seem I have overated this manga a tiny bit. But I truly believe this was one touching story. I was crying through the whole of the last chapters.
Story.
Basically, its about this girl {20 years old} who was in an accident 1 year ago, and one of her blood donors somehow "transfered" part of her soul into the girl {Maiko} while donating her blood. One day, this teacher {her main love interest throughout the story} starts at her school, and she has to have these weird "visions" about a younger him... and so it goes on and on. There are some twists to
...
the story though, which I found throughoutly enjoyable, and shocking. It really focuses on the sacrifices you have to make to make yourself, but above all, others, happy.
Art.
I really liked the art. Dont know exactly how to describe it though? It looks very appealing ^^!. hehe.
Character.
I loved all the characters, and the differences and contrasts in them. Touja-kun is one of my personal faveorite, although he's only 3 years old. The character developments happen quickly, yet gradually, as there are many "buts" and "ifs" but they all end up to be characters you will love.
Enjoyment.
As I already pointed out; this made me cry- so that's a good point in my book. Its very emotional; and is therefore enjoyable in that aspect.

So, Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne? To be honest, i adored this manga, and I reckon it was a LOT better than the anime; concidering the plot was slightly different, I preffered the manga's plot.
The story itself had me flowing tears the last couple of chapters, and I adored the "happy ending" {although... it... I dont know... it wasnt really THAT good an ending... if you only read until the last battle is finished... but I still adored it to bits}. I reckon it had a pretty unique, but not overly original, plot which a lot of people would enjoy ^^ Put probly girls more than boys...
...
^^
The art is adorable, like all of this mangaka's art is. I dont know what more to say? Flowy hair and big eyes, I suppose =O Very very pretty =)
The character development is amazing {in my opinion}, you got to know pretty much all of the main characters past, and you get an explanation as to why they are the person they are in the present day. {Except for maybe the main character, who seems like the toughest person there... yet the one with the harshest past.} Still you get VERY attached to each and every character, and you start to understand what brings them all to do what they do because of how they are developed.
Overall, I really enjouyed this manga, and its a very good cry =3

Obviously, this is a very short manga. So the character development wasnt that great, however, all the characters where loveable.
Also, I could easily find myself in the main character, which was a plus {as well as a negative on my personal front xD}.
I actually started crying from about the second chapter throughout to the third, which is extremely hard for manga to make me do, specially the shorter ones.
The art was brilliant, I really really liked it =) It was very clean, and the expressions on the characters faces conveyed the different emotions expressed by them beautifully =)
Only thing I found a
...
bit irritating was that the main character didnt seem to bother about a side character {who was only showed on a few panels and not really looked into} who was undergoing the same thing she had went through.
The romance was really quiet something, too. I loved it <3 Specially because neither side semt to be in any doubt that they liked each other. And no REAL obsticle was met in the end. Pretty.
I really would recommend anyone to read this manga, however, because it is a very realistic situation, and could, possibly, happen to anyone =) Just believe ^^!
