I agree with so many of the harsh reviews, but I try to be very positive. Even so, at best I can say this was a flawed series.
Season 5 is the strongest of them, simply because it had the most potential. Seasons 1-4 were weakerI think, as it was often just the most predictable action-adventure-fantasy tropes and an MC I simply cannot relate to overcoming every challenge (i.e. fight) in ways that were never new or interesting.
So season 5, why was it better? It had more potential in the plot and villain. The baddie of this season was not some big monster
...
that Bell would dodge around until he found its weak spot, it was a possessive yandere goddess who actually had a really elaborate plot that used psychology and gaslighting to try to "defeat" an MC who otherwise we know is not going to lose any physical fights. Midway through, it was genuinely quite interesting seeing the hopelessness of the situation, seeing the few characters left to resist the villainess trying to figure out how to take on an entire brainwashed city and the most powerful(?) familia. Without spoiling, I'd say the resolution was not as smart and interesting as I'd hope, perhaps even too easy
For characters, the supporting cast has more going for it than Bell. It was far more interesting seeing characters like Freya or Hermes banter and scheme than anything with Bell. As other reviewers said, he's a weak MC but for season 5's credit, Bell was coached by an elf to be less annoyingly pathetic like typical isekai MC's tend to be.

It's ok, barely in recommended.
The pros:
- Revenge plot, simple idea with clear goals
- The premise of dying over and over and using death and resets to overcome near impossible struggle is interesting.
- The interactions with the Vampire are the better ones, his skillful appeasement and careful wording to not be murdered by her constantly was smart and tense. This even becomes pseudo-romantic and she gets character development
The cons:
- The English translation of this just cuts out at chapter 20 and has for a while, pretty much at the exact part he's going to get his revenge, so major problem of blueballing the plot for
...
English readers
- The Yandere Heroine. The first cycle was nice because despite the MC's actions being hard to relate to and kinda stupid (he wont love her because.... he loves his long-dead crush?) and it was nice seeing him suffer the consequences of rejecting her, things get weird and interesting but never properly explored. The second time she comes back she seems to "know" something and even kills him, which is seems interesting... and never explained. Later she appears to break free from her imprisonment (That should require his help for) on her own, to murder him twice. Like, that's pretty wild, how did she do that? What's going on with her memories? Never explained ever. Also the usual manga issue of an MC who can't communicate well, he never asked her what's going on or why she's attacking him, contrasted with his inquisitive communication with the Vampire. He just accepts his death.
Yeah its flawed and unfinished but has good ideas

It's worth it to read for mystery fans, I'll get the good out of the way. There is a solid mystery, worldbuilding to explain the lore, and an MC who is relatable and who's actions are understandable. Overall solid. Then of course there is Mei, who is a bit silly at first in how they were trying to tease her being a ghost or something, but she's a decent sidekick.
One flaw however that is quite silly is the comically stupid lack of communication about the curse Talisman in the beginning. The students choose Mei to be invisible, but don't tell the MC the rules, so
...
being a normal guy he just talks to her like a normal person would. The students are then horrified that this happened, one even claims she'll never forgive him, and people start dying. At best, Mei and other just say cryptic warnings that obviously don't work because the MC has no idea what they're rambling about. I get that the plot may not have happened without this, but maybe it could have been done intelligently

I like revenge stories and this is one of them. But to put it simply, a flaw of this manga appears to be pacing. 50 chapters in and the MC has not taken any revenge on anyone yet, in fact he has yet to even see his classmates, part of the charm of revenge stories is well... the revenge parts. I have no clue how many more chapters it will be until things finally get going, Likewise the entire first arc, finding Erika to translate text, was a dead end.
The Characters are fine. Touka, the MC, is pretty standard and refreshingly acts mature and human
...
about romance with the main elf Heroine, Seras. Their early interactions are stiff and weak with a lot of "I shall be your sword" over and over and formalities, but they warm up to each other and it gets better. Likewise things are more fun when Eve joins. Eve has a fun design to her and her own story/motivations. Seras is decent and has a lovely kindness.
Here's to hoping it wont be years before the revenge part starts

Just barely out of the mixed feelings category. Mixed for people who are weary of Isekai, but recommended for Isekai junkies. The good thing is that there isn't anything wrong with the plot, it's pretty standard Isekai where the MC needs to keep a game world on track for a "good ending". The MC is trapped in this game world first, a dating simulator (but he's a background character), but his bratty sister also invades and begins creating mayhem by seducing all of the love-interest Princes. Her and the princes rise and fall is decent.
The two love interests are quite lovely, some slow-burn character development
...
with them.
"Romance" plot spoilers:
The MC though isn't a strong selling point, he is difficult to relate to and is one of the most severe cases of my most hated Manga cliches. He's supposed to be an adult but acts like a child at times. He has two gorgeous love interests who clearly love him, but for the longest time he tries to keep them in the friendzone. It gets so ridiculous that he is forced into an arranged marriage with them after they have had enough of his cowardace. Then the worst scene happens when he has a panic attack just from seeing his wife in a nightgown, a grown man acting like an 8 year old. Yes this might be a petty thing but its an overdone cliche and I and others don't really relate to or self-insert such a pathetic ultravirgin who doesn't act his age at times. I wish authors would stop writing MC's like this so often.
The MC also lacks ambition to an insane degree, but I think this might be plot-related and have a reason. If not, then its another aspect that's hard to relate to
Aside from those two gripes about the MC it really is quite average.

Updated review.
To keep it simple, it's based on a Manga that is a revenge story and Isekai. The aspect of the Manga that was questionable was the pacing of the revenge, it was dozens of chapters and and the MC had finished only his first "quest" (the Witch, Erika) only for it to be a dead end. Not even close to reuniting with his brat classmates, let alone the Goddess. Basically, it's slow, and given the limitations of Anime, it's going to be a very long time before anything resembling revenge is shown on screen. Also the romance (of sorts) with Seras takes forever to
...
happen as well, the anime is going to show them in their early phase of being overly formal and cold with each other. Which is a shame as Seras had cute moments of being flustered and smitten later on when they get closer
So far the Anime itself has seemed to lack the unique art style of the Manga which I enjoyed. The look of the 2D is fairly generic and there is a lot of not-great 3D work that has a cheapness to it.
Having watched the latest episode (Eve Speed's introduction), I can say I feel the pacing of this season is a refreshingly quick pace. I was worried the slow pace of the manga would mean a season of barely anything happening, but things are moving quickly in the show. I like this, which tilts this barely in the Reccomended category.
It's important to note too that this series starts off at its weakest in my opinion, and gets better. Early episodes have only Touka and Seras, in their very formal and less-emotional relationship. It is something that improves when Eve joins and Seras/Touka have more chemistry and feelings.

The name of this manga wound up being quite strange. I came into this expecting something like Death Note, a protagonist commits a murder and the police/detectives slowly close in as he tries to cover it up. It could have been a very refreshing and thrilling story. Instead, the murder happens (The MC kills an abusive partner after travelling back in time for second chance at life) and stops being relevant. This all happens at the very start, and after its done it just... ends? The thrilling and morally dubious stakes hinted by the title just don't pan out.
Instead, for better or worse, we get
...
the very cliche Manhwa power fantasy story about a martial artist and his single-minded goal of training to get stronger. Much of the plots are the MC using his knowledge of the future/past to set things right in his second life mixed in with mini training arcs. There is a bit of a harem that forms but as per Manwha cliché, the MC ignores their feelings and just takes advantage of them for plot elements.
Definitely some wasted potential here in the lack of murder plot. If "Martial artist obsessed with training so he can save the world, after dying and being sent back years to get a second chance" is something new and interesting to you, then read it. But this sounds like something you've read a lot before (Because its common), there might not be much new and interesting for you

This is an enjoyable take on Isekai where a sick, dying kid goes to another world not as himself or even a human, but as a spirit/demon entity or "Yokai". He uses his academic knowledge to amplify magic skills and teaches himself to become a mage. As a Yokai he "haunts" a forest, where the monsters come to consider him a king.
The MC is an anti-hero of sorts because from the start, Mage students enter the forest and the MC actually murders a few to steal their life essence. Our protagonist is cold-hearted at first and has no qualms killing. Eventually we meet the
...
female lead, Iris, who the MC tutors so she can graduate from Mage school and become a Holy Knight. However her career requires her to slay demons and monsters, thus an inevitable collision course with the MC. We see the MC come to care about her and have a character arc, slowly losing his nihilism.
It's simple, fun but short.

It's refreshing to have unique Romance stories come out, especially ones involving fairly unique love interests and that take place outside the stereotypical High School setting. In this story, a delivery man meets a shut-in vtuber who has very bad social anxiety. Paired with her delicious tall frame it makes her seem scary at first to him, but they become friends and she uses him to practice her communication skills. As chapters go on we see her getting braver and venturing out into the world with him. Given this is a Romance, we don't have to worry about the relationship never taking off or love
...
going unrequited.
The main draw obviously is the female lead. She's abnormally tall and strong combined with crippling agoraphobia and anxiety creating an interesting clash of her personality and appearance. She's absolutely a dream come true. Some might not vibe with the lack of realism, after all she behaves too perfect to be real, but I think it's fine to have idealistic waifus in these stories.

Above average series. It's simple enough, it's like X-men but with insect powers as their mutant powers. It benefits by being an ensemble cast of many characters. Characters are reasonably intelligent and have clear goals and motives, although the villains are a bit on the weaker end. The MC is not the generic Manwha stereotype of the stoic, shallow loner. He actually cares a lot about his friends, shows emotions and aside from maybe being too much of a celibate virgin towards the love interest he doesn't really have any of the glaring cliches of other Manwha protagonists. The action elements are fun enough given
...
everyone having unique bug-related powers to use, so you get way more creativity than just shooting or punching. The art style is an acquired taste, like it or don't, but skill-wise it is above many other Webtoons I think.
