If you like more vanilla stuff though, then yeah this is probably not for you.
This IS an ecchi-romcom and IT IS AMAZING. If you like some fan service and romance you can't ask for more. I actually LOVED this. It makes me sad to see all the negative reviews because this is what I actually want from a romance. I have been watching romance for over eight years and I always get so frustrated at the constant lack of satisfaction from them. Or on the hanime side, how the stories over there are never good. I just want something to meet in the middle for
...
once, you know? I want romantic interest build up, I want to see their development, boobs are always a plus (I am a woman btw) and I want to feel the awkward tension. And this show did it well.
I know some people would say it's unrealistic that a popular girl would like the nerd guy, but some girls are more than their looks. She is a nerd on the inside (look at her dang room) and I don't think some of the people bashing this anime get that. You can be cute, be a nerd, be a nice person, and fall in love with someone based on their personality. Even if the guy doesn't have any friends. I am saying this from experience. It exists, it's just rare. And Gojo is sweet, almost too nice in a way to get taken advantage of, but I wish I could meet someone like that. Also, it's anime, not supposed to be realistic anyway. I personally thought this was actually really wholesome and gave the perspective of the male gaze in an accurate way without Gojo being disgustingly thirsty.
Ultimately the decision will be yours if you want to watch it, but if you like romance with spice, I think you will enjoy this a lot!
SPOILER
The scene where they are holding each other on the bed?! Like c'mon the tension was top tier that scene alone was immaculate. I was screaming under my blanket then it made me squirm feeling all giddy while holding my breath, I absolutely loved it. I just wish they kissed but it is what it is!

Someone here left a 1-star rating and you're just disrespectful. The animators took time and effort to create a show while you sat on your butt judging and acting like you are a top tier food critic for Michelin star restaurants when you can't even make Kraft Dinner. So relax.
Anyway, I just could not have said NOTHING. ***Not really spoilers, just a message about the show kinda***
Honestly, I have no interest in skateboarding. I thought it was going to be a dumb show with hot 2D characters. I always give every anime at least 5 episodes before I decide to continue or drop it.
...
It was a slow start for me, but it actually ended up being really great. I liked how it revolved around friendship. It taught me that in our lives, sometimes we end up comparing our selves to others, even our friends. When we are faced with the reality of letting our own inadequacies rip us apart, do we rise above and be better people or succumb to our self-doubt? In the age of social media this is a great lesson to show us that just because we may not be "the best" at something, we should do what makes us happy and always try our best. This show is a great reminder to surround yourself with people who want you to succeed in your own way, even if that means you're not number one. I am not saying that everyone should "get a trophy" for participating... I am saying that hard work and results look different for each individual. This show reminded me to look at myself and reflect on that, and THAT'S why this show is great. I wish people would take the time to see the deeper meaning of anime. I feel like a lot of people these days are superficially analyzing how amazing a show is just because of an intricate storyline or the immaculate beauty of an art style. Not every anime has a deep meaning mind you, but this one does. If you want to watch it, it's only 12 episodes with a good ending feeling and I personally think it's totally worth your time.

The anime is not even finished and people are leaving 1 star reviews? I know we are all having issues right now in the current state of the world, especially with not as much new anime coming out BUT A 1 STAR?! Whoever takes the time to write a review for 1 star needs to get a life. The artists that take the time to make these stories come to life for everyone don't deserve this disrespect. Though I do not take the time to usually write reviews, I could not idly stand by and let someone talk sh*t. I am not saying it needs
...
to be rated highly as I have, but at the very least you could have said mediocre. Some people like vanilla ice cream and some like Rocky road ice cream. To anyone who is reading the reviews, don't knock it until you try it. It's up to you as the viewer to come to your own conclusions.
Moving forward... *spoilers*
I really like this anime. I get One Punch Man vibes mixed with The Devil is a Part-timer! Also that fact that I got a kiss ALREADY?! Like is this real-life?! I can't say if I am head over heels for this anime yet as it is not finished and granted, I also get a "Cautious Hero: The Hero Is Overpowered but Overly Cautious" feel as well (minus the ecchi-ness), but I thoroughly enjoyed it so far. It's actually gory at parts and I was like, "Oh wow that was brutal" and then they got revived. Then I was like "Oof got me again". It is not just complete perverted comedy either. I feel like this has more of a story with twists and turns at every corner. The main character (Voldigoad, Anos) was always another step ahead and I never saw it coming. Kinda like a chess game as in, "No Game No Life" did with its series. I was a gaping mouth at the story planning in that anime honestly. Sorry about my babbling!!! Anyway, "The Misfit of Demon King Academy" did not have the classic and annoying, "repeating fight/pull out a sword, say catchphrase" scene which I also really appreciated. I am excited about what they are going to do with the rest of the series. If you liked any of the mentioned anime I listed, I know you'll at the very least find enjoyment in this series. I will not go into detail about every aspect in terms of grading, but I just wanted to chip in my two cents.

First of all, I never write reviews. I read them religiously though so that I can avoid animes that are a waste of time. Today I am writing because I am so upset with the high ratings of this anime.
This may be biased, but honestly, I was on a romance spree and I happened to find this anime in that "category". After reading reviews - I decided to give it a try (though I did not like the art style right off the bat).
I adored "Your lie in April" though I am not a huge fan of musical animes, I bawled my eyes out for
...
that one. It opened my horizons to the possibilities of music based anime.
Sadly, this anime ruined it for me.
If I wanted to watch an Orchestra online, I would go and do so. This was listening to classical music and seemingly recycled freeze frames of them playing over it. Boring! But I wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt so I watched it until the end. I WANTED ROMANCE, DAMN IT. And it gave me a LITTLE something in the last episode but BARELY. The music was beautiful, though classical is not my music taste, I can still appreciate it. I just wish they added more story and less scenes of them "playing".
I wouldn't recommend this anime to anyone who is looking for a romance fix, it wasn't funny and it really just drowned on. If you are someone looking for a good romantic anime - Lovely Complex had me squealing~ (though that anime also had its downfalls, it was hilarious and made my heart race and... they kiss, it was majestic).
Nodame Cantabile was far from exciting and I wish I didn't watch it as it was 20 something episodes. Life = wasted.
But at least it's still not as bad as Chobits.
