Visuals? Amazing breathtaking amazing fantastic
Character designs? Awesome possum, very characteristic
Narrative? .... .. .
Ok. Alright, I was hooked, it was intriguing, it was nice. I love open ended mysteries and this anime hands down one after the other, I love apocalyptic stories and this anime got that, I love a story focused on characters more so than world, and this anime got that.
What I don't like? Well...
Sexual assault/rape. I feel like if you want a rape scene, or a sexual assault scene, you might as well make it the fuck worth it because you're about to make characters beloved by the audience go through extremely traumatic
...
situations. Like, with Juuichi, it was weird to say the least, not that believable, that the women would have so much power over the men, making them sex slaves and slaves in general and build a slave community on a school. Like come on now. Really? On a school? On such low numbers? Got damn. They coulda just been a bigger community that discriminates based on gender without the whole sex slave thingy, my guy was a victim of rape and pedophilia probably, and fell in love with the people that raped him? I guess you could call that Stockholm syndrome or something...
And don't get me fucking started on the scenes with Robin and Kiruko. Omg. Please kill me. If it hadn't ended like that, I woulda probably given this anime an 8 or something. Let's start with the first reason why it's fucked up: it's obviously rape. He is a much older man taking advantage on Kiruko, a much younger person, who put him on a pedestal their whole life. He raped them relentlessly and was ready to keep on going if Maru hadn't shown up. That was a fucking hard watch, I had to skip it because at some point I was waiting for Maru to stop it but he never came. Then, to top off how awfully butchered these characters were, Robin just turns into a complete jackass, and starts spouting dysphoric transphobic rhetoric to try and confuse, and weaken Kiruko's mental. They don't even fight it. I get it, they must've been broken from the death and desecration of their hero right?
Wrong. When Maru finally comes and starts fucking shit up, which I thought was quite mild btw, Kiruko comes out like a damsel in distress and begs him not to kill him???????? WHat???? If it were the Kiruko I knew, they'd tell Maru to back off and punch him themselves. And the after scene? Why isn't Maru comforting Kiruko? Why is it that Kiruko just recovers simply very fast and moves on like that, like it never happened, or that it wasn't that bad? What? If I knew Robin was still out there I'd start a man-hunt for the bitch and cut off his dick???
So, yeah. It felt like the sexual assault and rape scenes were just there to add pzazz. Or whatever the fuck. Just made me mad.

My brother in christ do not give in to the silly little ducklings that say this anime trash. They are just jealous that the himbo got three wives, they're just zenitsu, move on and watch this masterpiece of a season, delve int beautiful animation, exilerating fight scenes, some funny shit, and of course, redemption of evil as good wins.
Let me just say tho, I am no full defender of Tengen, he did try to bring Aoi into this monstrous encounter, but the guy has style, and he apparently treats his wives with the respect they deserve, or else they would not address him with
...
such respect or care for him as much as they do.
Tanjiro's sun technique is getting better and better, it was absolutely fantastic seeing him turn into his better potencial even if it was just for an episode, his prowess and dedication, along with courage and inability to lie are what makes him such an endearing protagonist.
Of course my love, Zenitsu, was the one that held the crown for me, as he not only is a sad sack of shit, he is also at the same time insanely op.
Very glad to see Inosuke get along so well at the entertainment distrcit, maybe in another life he could've pursued it as a career.
Gyuntaro and Daki were the ones that stole my breath away tho. I love terrible people that do terrible things and aren't afraid to admit it! Love villains like that, and their backstory just added so many layers to how Gyutaro treated Daki and even Tanjiro, and even at the end, with their fight and making up, it really felt like they were siblings for real.
Again, everyone that says this season is trash is just being controlled by zenitsu. My guy, my brother, tengen being polyamorous is giga chad as fuck.
Also Nezuko is definitely the coolest demon to ever exist. Love that girl!

I might be biased here with my review, but I absolutely loved it.
I resonated a lot with the character and her upbringing so a lot of the times I was just agreeing, or saying thigs like "been there" "Yeah I know how it feels". Especially the aspect of being raised by a single mom getting scammed by those she chose to love and struggling all her life under low income, and even then loving unconditionally her child. It brought back memories that are fonder to me than people think.
The animation is absolutely stunning and the characters are funny, compelling, and relatable. I do recommend this
...
for those who enjoy slice of life and drama anime.

I write so few reviews but this time I was so flabbergasted that I had to say something about it.
Don't get me wrong, The sound, the animation, the imagery, all great 10/10.
The story tho, is where it gets stinky.
Attention for spoilers (sorry but can't write what I disliked about it without them):
So you mean to tell me these deities from eden wanted a chosen maiden to appear so bad because they can't decide what to do with their own world that they forced the impregnation of a naive young woman with the king which resulted in her later execution, ptsd on a lover, children, and
...
brainwashing/manipulation just to tell the mc in the end "you were the one to make the choices, you led yourself here" LIKE HELL
Also, it felt like they were starting interesting plotlines, like with the ACTUAL pirates, or the heart necklace, or the sword, or the witch thing, but it never led anywhere. Pointless.
And the choices at the end, get this, are whether she wants to destroy the earth now or postpone it for later.
I-
Huh-
Hmm-
I got a brain fart from this anime.
And don't get me started on the painfully apparent and abhorent mysoginy. I'm not going to delve on that.
Otherwise, very cute, very pretty, but that's all it has got to offer: looks.

Pedophilia in the yaoi media has got to stop at some point right?
Right???
I mean come on, no wonder he had to leave and come back later, it's because he was too young in the beginning.
I don't care what anyone says, he was a 17-year-old boy with no family at all, grieving the death of his mother, he is vulnerable and alone.
Shun should not have feelings for him at all, because myo is a kid. Periodt. I hate it so much. It just adds and normalizes this awful stereotype to the lgbtq+ community.
Fucking hell. Hate this trope in yaoi.

Yasuke in itself is a very interesting character that I was instantly drawn into, his story also sparked a lot of interest in me to know more about him and what he's about, also where his story leads to. Can't say I'm a fan of him just getting himself forced into the storyline of a kid with superpowers who sometimes knows how to control them, sometimes doesn't, and is constantly chased by an old religious guy and his crew who idk why are compliant to his plans and just serve a roll of evil minions.
I know I didn't even watch it to the end, but
...
honestly I couldn't bring myself to just so I could write about the rest of the story. I started watching for Yasuke, but as soon as the focus derailed, I lost interest. And that's that.
Too much mecha for my taste, too. I think the fantasy element is alright, but there's one too many things happening that don't really make sense to me.
