why did i give this generic shonen an 8? the story may be mediocre and the animation is average but the thing that i really liked about this anime is the characters.
Asta is an annoying kid that screams everytime he talks, Noelle is just a tsundere that is hated by everyone and Yuno is an edgelord like Sasuke. Why did i say that what i really like about this anime is the characters then?
Well... its not just about the characters alone but about the bond between them. Black Bulls is just like a big family, they work together and nobody is forgotten by ... the author or becomes the main characters cheerleader like in Naruto where every team besides team 7 is literally useless in battle, every character is unique and has a great backstory. Its not your generic power of friendship anime. Lets look at the sea temple arc, the big scary villain comes in and they survive by trusting their friends and using every bit of power they have left. Its not just the main characters that shine but the side ones too, some of them attack the villain head on, some of them support the others from a distance, Noelle learns a new spell, but besides all of their effort they still couldnt beat him and their captain comes.
Too bad the plot armor is so strong, besides 2-3 side characters (that are only present in some episodes) no one dies.
The series is very enjoyable too, i finished it in a week, you start to feel atached to the characters after 50 eps, the battles are epic, the songs are godly and btw haruka mirai makes the battle 100 times better
Only started this ironically and expected to drop it afted 5-6 eps but i fell in love with it, doesnt deserve an 8 in my opinion but i gave it a bonus point because it is very dear to me.
My 8 yo sister started watching Black Clover too and she loves it. Everytime the op plays she starts dancing and jumping. Her favourite characters are Yami and Gordon because Yami shits a lot just like our dad and Gordon wants to make friends but nobody can hear him.
