Are you looking for a cute romance anime? That’s how I started when I stumbled upon this gem. If you’re interested in a fast-paced fantasy anime with cool magical fighting scenes and a hint of romance then this one’s for you.
Story 9/10
The setting is the ancient, magical realm of Chinese folklore. I’m not Chinese so this is how it came across to me. The story started strong with the main character (Orchid) already coincidentally meeting the villain-protagonist of the show (The Demon Lord) on the first episode. Since each episode is only 15 minutes long, every episode is packed with progress and
...
would want you to watch the next episode right away. It also delicately showed the beauty of Chinese folklore so if you’re a person interested in a country’s culture, then this one is for you.
Characters 7.5/10
I wouldn’t say they were perfect especially Orchid—she might be a little too loud and annoying for you BUT that added to the comedic relief you will see in the entire show. There were a lot of other really strong characters you will see with depth so you’d definitely enjoy seeing them being played out in the anime.
Graphics 10/10
I can’t take my eyes off the scenes where they do spells and the other magical stuff, because it was so beautiful! Very characteristic of Chinese animes. The backgrounds change into elaborate patterns whenever a character shows their power! I love it a lot. You hardly see anything like this in Japanese anime! This is definitely my favorite element in the whole entire show.
Overall 9/10
I would recommend it to people who want to watch something to pass the time and just enjoy. Nothing too cerebral about this show and that makes it enjoyable to watch when you want to relax and see a good anime. Also, it makes me want to learn a little bit of Chinese because it sounded fascinating. I suggest you give this anime a try ♥️
Also, there’s a Chinese live action for it so if you’re interested, just check Love Between Fairy and Devil on Kissasian. I’m currently watching it and I keep on squealing at the romantic scenes 😳☺️😂

Where do I even begin? I like everything about it >.<
This movie was like a breath of fresh air. You watch it and find yourself lost in the simplicity of it. Everything about it whispers serenity and calmness.
Story - 9
It started with a boy seeming to while away the minutes before the start of the class by rocking himself in his chair. From here on, the background music was introduced and it sets the tone of the story and how his classmates (who were yep surprise surprise--animals) started talking about a magical being they call Matasaburou---child of the Wind God. No one can
...
really validate his existence and he's more like an urban legend than an actual entity. Then came in the teacher with a transfer student who happened to be a human girl.
No developments here whatsoever (because this is NOT a series) but like all stories, or for this matter, films, there is a conflict and climax. I don't want to spoil so let me just say that like the rest of the film, they were not so complicated but match the story very well.
Sound- 10
Okay, since it has Kaze in its title, there ought to be whooshing and blowing sounds here and there and yep, it didn't disappoint. Since the setting is in the countryside, there are more trees, more nature and more wind in here and the sound they make in the film seem real. Try to close your eyes for a sec and just listen to the music and it will tell you what I'm talking about. The story coupled with the background music will put you in a comforting mood that would make you not want to do anything but relax, savor it and enjoy it.
Character - 10
The characters were so cute let me just say! All adults (except for one) were humans in this film but most of them were animals. It's funny how they have animals in class and they speak and talk like humans too, welcoming the new girl on her first day. Being a girl hailing from the city though, she seemed not used to the company of animals and was rather aloof and weirded out by her "classmates". She has a worm for a classmate! I am deathly afraid of worms or any small crawling insects but the worm in the film was soooo cute hahaha you have to see it for yourself. And there's a tsundere moment for their rabbit classmate :3 super cute :3 :3
Art - 10
Oh gosh. The art is refreshing. It reminds me so much of The Tale of Princess Kaguya except that one has milder tones whereas the art outline for Kaze is more pronounced. I like it, like how the characters were made alive by the illustrator. The colors were great too. Very soothing to the eyes. Everything is soft and subtle.
Overall - 10/10
I enjoyed it so much and I like how it ended. It actually leaves the audience with a sense of having to think about how they want it to end. Did the girl just leave for the day and will come back after a few days or did she leave for good? It can be interpreted either way and even though there is a talk of leaving, it doesn't make you feel empty afterwards. To be honest, I kept thinking about the cute worm and tsun rabbit at this point.
So, if you are going to ask the question, 'Should I watch this anime?" My answer would be a resounding Yes. :) Have fun!

Uhm, I'm seriously not sure if the people here watched a prequel or if this movie is part of an even bigger franchise---I just watched it by itself and despite some reviews saying that this is bad, I must say that I enjoyed this thoroughly.
The story is kind of vague at first and it started with this seemingly normal family and how they are in the eyes of one of the children, a teenager named Hana Togatsu. She described her family in the most normal way and without any background knowledge, you would think that this would be just another slice of life. Except
...
that it's not. Minutes into the film, you will be introduced to the fact that Hana is no normal teenager. She is actually an assassin, with a mission to keep someone alive and to eliminate some sort of monster.
I don't want to spoil more but the thing is, this was great for a 30-minute film. I enjoyed it a lot. The graphics was superb, the story was good, the characters have their mini stories in the background and it would require you to join the pieces together to make sense of what was just presented. I am free to have my own interpretation of the film and that's why I loved it.
For all those people who say that this is just another violent anime about guns and nothing more, hm, you are entitled to your own opinion I guess just like I am but please, give this movie a chance. It doesn't deserve its 6 point something rating on MAL. To those who rated this lower, I dare you to make something as great as this. I bet you can't. :')
So to answer the question if you should watch this film the answer is Yes, you should. Don't let the hard-to-please people prevent you from watching this. <3 Much love!

I came across Kuuchuu Buranko when I was looking for a psychological anime. I have no expectations as it's my first time ever knowing about it and I don't know anyone else personally who also knows it. Anyway, here's what I think about this under-the-radar anime:
Eblouir's No-Spoiler Summary:
Kuuchuu Buranko is about a psychiatrist named Ichiro Irabu, who together with his seemingly aloof and sexy nurse assistant Mayumi, take on different patients having various disorders. Despite the seriousness of the theme, the anime is not very grim as the carefree Dr. Irabu tries out unconventional yet weirdly funny ways in helping his patients out.
...
Art:
The graphics and how the characters were drawn are very different from the usual stuff I see in anime that I gave it a 9. Everything is in manic neon colors including the background, outfits of the characters and even the characters themselves! Plus, real faces of live people are used in the anime much like how they did it in Mind Game (just a reference in case you've heard of this title too).
Story:
Well, I haven't yet watched an anime focused on different psychological disorders and how to deal with them much like how Kuuchuu Buranko did it. I have a background in psychology and there were instances when I questioned the validity of the information provided in the anime. There was always one patient per episode and it would seem like each day is a story in itself. Later episodes would reveal something unexpected and that bit entertained me a lot.
Opening and Ending Songs:
Even the Opening and Ending songs for this anime are bizarre. At first, it's a bit awkward to listen to but having finished the anime, I don't mind them much anymore and even intentionally listen to both songs. They had that effect on me.
Favorite Character:
Well it has to be the cold and uncaring yet gorgeous nurse Mayumi! She's played by Yumi Sugimoto who's a famous gravure model in Japan. And she appeared more as herself than her animated version! She's so cool and the way she gives patients "vitamins" is funny to watch.
Would I recommend it to everyone?
As much as I have enjoyed this 11-episode series, I certainly wouldn't recommend it to people, especially non-anime fans. It's just not something everybody would appreciate, especially those who focus much on graphics. Story-wise, well despite the fact that the psychological bits mentioned in the anime are questionable, it's still helpful that the message they sent was clear: If you think something's wrong with you and it's affecting your daily life, don't hesitate to seek professional help (psychiatrist, psychotherapist, etc.)
Final thoughts:
Anyone up for a unique take on mental health? Give Kuuchuu Buranko a try.
