It's almost unfortunate how mediocre the first few episodes are, the later half of the season gets some pretty great writing.
No Longer Allowed in Another World is about a suicidal protagonist based on a real life author, who gets transported to another world in a double-suicide, transporting both him and his partner to this world.
The first few episodes are about as "Isekai" as they get, I only stayed around because a protagonist who tries to kill himself several times an episode is an interesting concept, an enemy will die from poisoning by biting the protagonist because the protagonist overdoses on sedatives, he'll always unintentionally find
...
a way to kill his enemies, before getting his real power at least.
The first few episodes make this feel like just any other Isekai with a funny concept, and the suicide novelty can really wear off on some people, you get tentacles and a catgirl in the first episode alone, so I can see why people just dropped it.
But I promise you, please continue watching, if you can find it in you, this is a Steins Gate / Madoka situation, and there is a reason this is being so highly praised this season.
Around episodes 4 to 5, the protagonist gains his power, and this is what the anime really is about, Other-Worlders.
The world building in this anime is actually pretty good, and the concept of the demon lord being killed so early on, and Other-Worlders who have succumbed to their own desires and using their "Isekai Powers" for evil is interesting.
However, the main novelty of this anime comes from the title itself, "No Longer Allowed in Another World" as the protagonist's main power is to send these other fucked up Isekai protagonists back to their own worlds by writing their stories.
This is where the phenomenal writing really shows itself, within one to two episodes, they really manage to wrap you into these other protagonists' stories and bring out a lot of emotions, if it's a disabled man who befriends a boy, who he can't defend when he's getting bullied, a girl who takes care of her terminally ill sister, having to skip high-school and her childhood life, all while being physically abused by her father, or if it's someone who was raised rich and so emotionless without problems that he just kills one of his maids to feel anything.
I'm not doing justice to how interesting these other protagonists' stories are. the anime translates that into the powers they get in this new world.
It is the job of the main protagonist, this depressed author who eats sedatives like they're Tictacs, to write the stories of these Other-Worlders and send them back to their world if they are causing too much trouble for this world, and the protagonist who is called "Sensei" unlike a lot of other Isekai protagonists, isn't focused on being a hero. His main goal is to commit double suicide with his partner. he sleeps in a coffin his party drags around while they're traveling, the main thing he takes an interest in, is other people's life stories, judging if they are worth making a novel into. Sensei isn't a bad person though, he'll often give advice and support to those around him, he's surprisingly sympathetic.
Sensei is more than just a comedic character, although a lot of the comedy comes from the dark humor of a suicidal protagonist, he genuinely offers some interesting thoughts and dialogue and becomes one of my favorite Isekai protagonists.
Some of these episodes, especially Eight and Eleven, have made me really glad this was one of the few anime I've chosen for my seasonals.
I wish I could speak further on how great this anime is, but I don't want to spoil it. if you give it a chance, you'll most likely find value in it, and at the very least, you'll resonate with the stories and emotions.

If anyone is going to write a serious review on this I guess it'll be me!
Redo of Healer, or Kaifuku Jutsushi no Yarinaoshi, or Kaiyari, has been an incredibly controversial, yet very popular series.
These light novels have always been in the top 10 best-selling LNs when they are released, and of course, coming from the anime, it's easy to understand that both controversy and sex sells, but from a story perspective, or a writing one, do these hold up?
Surprisingly, they are actually kind of good.
Of course "good" will always apply to people's different standards, there are some hilariously egregious examples of tropes, such as "Protagonist
...
meets character he likes, they die quickly." or some really obnoxious repeating of abilities and skills (which goes away after volume 2, volume 1 being the worst case of that.)
Asides the inherent shock value, the light novel does a great job of explaining Keyaruga and how far-gone he is, there are some surprisingly deeper moments of character-depth, where Keyaruga is faced with the person he's become, being unsure of what kind of person he is, he's fucking crazy, as anyone would be with their entire childhood stolen from them, and they do a great job of writing the depth of Keyaruga and commenting on the cycle of abuse.
The world building and story is where this novel really started to surprise me, I found myself becoming interested, and genuinely getting into the story, when I thought I knew exactly how the novel was going to play out, there were some twists and really interesting plotlines that all inter-connect, this series does a good job of making past events meaningful, and you'll find things from previous novels showing up again and again.
Rui Tsukiyo likes to have this kind of connected universe in his novels, so you'll find references to his other works.
The demon-lord arc sounds like something that could be generic fantasy, but Redo of Healer completely subverts those expectations by adding a bunch of twists and questioning during these arcs, the battle scenes have excellently written choreography, with great explanations of powers, by the way, if you ever thought Keyarugas healing powers make no sense, this light novel series does a great job of explaining everything, and while he's fucking powerful, he's not this invincible person that can do really anything like in the anime, from volume 4 onwards, he will have to fight enemies he can't just use corruption heal on.
While there is a lot of sex and a few sex scenes in a light novel, sex is only like 10% of the series, so you'll get some lewd moments, but also a lot of story and lore, and some cooking too.
The art is really good, usually illustrations of lewd scenes, battle scenes, or big character moments.
Of course, this novel is incredibly controversial, I've not mentioned it, but there's rape, sexual assault, drugging, abuse, torture, it's a dark fantasy similar to Berserk.
The novel, like the anime and manga, does a really good job of making you hate the villains, so while you can't justify Keyaruga's action, you can definitely sympathize with wanting abusers to feel the same victimization they put on their own victims.
Although one of my biggest criticisms, though I guess it's just a character choice, Keyaruga isn't a "good guy", is that Keyaruga eventually starts using sexual revenge on enemies that haven't sexually abused him, usually via aphrodisiacs.
This happened with a Leopard woman in volume 3, and happens with a star rabbit woman in volume 5, one thing I really enjoyed about the revenge in the anime, is that all of his enemies kind of deserved what happened to them, the revenge was EQUAL, although there are some examples where it's just not the case here. But I guess I can justify this choice as the writer portraying that Keyaruga genuinely believes his actions are good, regardless of which enemy he takes them on.
Overall, I unironically kind of love Redo of Healer for the story, I've been told many times this series sucks, only evil incels like it or whatever, but actually checking it out, are there flaws? yeah, but it's really entertaining and enjoyable, and surprisingly has substance, and a pretty great story so far.
It's pretty clear the author is writing Keyaruga as a broken person, and nobody is a bad person for liking a series with problematic elements, it's reprehensible in real life, and Keyarugas actions should never be justified as good, but in fiction, it's a really enjoyable read with a surprisingly engaging story and some really great characters.
I'm halfway through volume 5, so I may make a new review when I've reached volume 10.
I hope this review gave you a new perspective on the series.

For an anime about assassination, there was not that much assassination.
The World's Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an Aristocrat is an anime created by the same creator of Redo of Healer, with less provocative content, although still dark.
Female characters are bland, they exist solely as companions for the protagonist, it's not exactly a harem but they can be pretty boring.
The first few episodes were interesting, the protagonist growing up and training, and we get to see his previous life, and how calculated and intelligent he really is.
The magic system is really cool, basically, the saving grace of this anime with pretty great
...
writing, incantation swapping for new spells, and "skill-sets" but not in a super RPG-like way, the magic was well thought out and made here, and it works well with an assassin learning how to use magic in his assassinations.
World-building is not great, I couldn't care less about the towns and aristocrats presented in this anime, I genuinely forgot everyone, but above all, the middle of this anime slowed down and became really, uninteresting.
The first few episodes were great, the last few were great, but most of the anime is dedicated to the protagonist selling moisturizer and doing business and travel work, which is unfortunate because the action scenes are well-made, everything with assassination works well, but most of this anime doesn't revolve around assassination.
Character moments and dialogue don't really work when you don't exactly have strong characters, and your protagonist has a very straightforward personality, I expected a lot more from this anime.

If you're like me, you likely watched the anime series and immediately got so attached to the characters and storytelling, that you wanted more, so you decided to pick up the manga.
Volumes 1- 3 (Chapters 1 - 28) almost intimately follow the events of the series with the exception of a few new brothels, the manga coming way earlier than the series obviously, but to viewers of the anime, you may feel underwhelmed coming into the manga.
(The manga series does become as explicit as the anime though if that's what you're reading for, don't worry.)
But as soon as I got to volume 4, I got
...
hooked and remembered exactly why I loved this series, and why Amahara is such a great writer.
Ishuzoku Reviewers follows the adventures of three main protagonists, Stunk the Human, Zel the Elf, and Crim the Angel, with many notable side characters that show up frequently, they review Succu-Joints as the world builds around them.
The worldbuilding in Ishuzoku Reviewers is actually exceptionally good, the anime series only having one season (so far) only manages to barely touch on the story, but the manga especially in later volumes, really really delves into the political worldbuilding, and research of Crim, angels become a central focus point in the story, as they both influence the church and story, and the magic needed to give the reviewers ways to review new brothels.
The story doesn't take away from the comedy or sexy stuff though, you'll be getting plenty of that still, it's hilarious, with some truly out there Succu-Joints.
The church gets introduced, as well as Demia and Deathabyss becoming significant characters, they seemingly take an antagonist role, but their intentions seem nuanced and generally help the reviewers, for example, the research intro Crim's resistances allow them to create resistance rings so our adventurers can go back and review Salamander girls, or take an ice cold bath with cold-element girls.
The series is great because all characters really have their own intentions, their own goals, and we don't see the full picture, we get to learn of the goddess and her behavior of abandoning worlds when things lead bad, as other angels start to take actions into their own hands, some angels wanting to purposefully break their halos so they can interact with the world, and the church investing in Demia to fix it.
This is just a little bit of how much goes on in this world, and all the new things you learn help add to the immersion of the world Amahara has created, all the conflict and stakes feel natural, and they build from a world that clearly has history.
As a reader, I was truly invested in the worldbuilding and lore this series has set up, Stunk Zel and Crimvael become all the more amazing characters.
There is a story between Zel and Mitsue in the manga that I will not spoil, but is one of the sweetest things I have ever read, they let the story be serious when it wants to be, sad when it wants to be, and hilarious when it wants to be, the tone never feels misguided, even in such an explicit series it works.
Overall, the Ishuzoku Reviewers manga exceeded my expectations and gave me everything I loved from the anime series and more, if you care at all about the story from the anime series, pick this up! it's hilarious, sexy, and has an incredible story.
And if you loved the creative brothels and play of fantasy tropes in the series, you will LOVE the manga.
I won't spoil any brothels, but they never lose creativity with them.
Masha is also a great artist and always manages to put Amaharas ideas into such great art, you can tell how much it improves 8 volumes in,
Genuinely great series, it deserves a season 2, and now I wait for the next volume, I hope this series doesn't end for as long as the creators have an interest in it.
Goodnight, and sweet dreams.

Simply one of the best comedy anime of all time.
Interspecies Reviewers is an anime that is unapologetically all about sex, but you already know that so let's talk about why the show is so exceptionally good.
The story follows our main three protagonists, Stunk, Zel, Crimvael, and while most fantasy stories follow combat and the most intense part of their lives, this show decides to follow the naturally progressing world and their personal "hobbies".
Stunk is a talented warrior having beaten adult knights when he was just a child, he holds discontent towards his father and upbringing and remains rather humble about his skills in the battlefield,
...
but not in the bed, Stunk is a real horny bastard.
Zel is a 200+ year old elf that has lived for longer than any of his friends, his tastes in women can range from looks to things humans can't comprehend such as magic and mana, Zel is also phenomenal in his skills.
Crimvael is a shy intersex angel that meets these two adventurers and that's where our story really starts, Crimvael has a broken halo and it is his goal to fix that halo and return to heaven, but he is saved by Stunk and Zel who insist on treating him to a succu-girl to take his first time.
Side characters include a sadist halfling, a beast-man, a fairy, and an Incubus, a snake-boy, and of course Meidri, a bird-maid.
These characters alone are fun and interesting, but what really makes them special is the dynamic they all share as friends, being of different species they all have unique quirks and interactions that make this show really special, a lot of anime fantasy shows with lately the exception of Frieren do not care to pay attention to these nuances, an elf may as well be a human, a succubus may as well just be a crazier human.
Interspecies Reviewers completely turns what could otherwise be a generic fantasy world, into some of the best worldbuilding that challenges even the best serialized anime, and explores how sexual interests, preferences, and compatibility works for all species in this world.
Elves will insist 500 year old elf girls who may look like 20 year olds to the average human, are actually extremely old, elves can just tell that their mana is off, and snakes will have fetishes directly involving eggs because they like to consume unfertilized eggs, angels are hermaphrodites, demons get off on signing contracts, the list goes on.
Each species has its own unique quirks that all interact with other species and the world itself, running brothels based on these experiences, exploring how people would have sex with these hybrids, exploring real life facts of animals, fantasy tropes, or mythology, to create these interactions.
Did I mention this show is also hilarious? with one-liners you would expect out of Panty & Stocking, this feels like a successor in shameless adult humor, direct references to other anime, and about as much sexual comedy as you would expect from a show about sex.
The music is amazing.
I will just say that this anime has one of my personal favorite soundtracks from maybe all media in general, from the Village People classic YMCA inspired Ikouze Paradise Opening, to an Ethnic Japanese Song that seamlessly switches into EDM for an ending, to Smoky Review, Kotone Naito and the VAs did an exceptional job at creating this soundtrack, the animation is no different, it is simply beautiful.
Speaking of diversity, this anime has an unexpected positive message about it, while all of us may be different, we can contribute and co-exist. ""If you like the same goods we do, then whatever your species you're one of us!" the anime also has a story that delves into the political party of demons and the evolving world of magic and technology, unfortunately when they start to really get into it, the show ends, so you will have to pick up the manga if the story interests you, but what's really interesting is these political parties will come out to ask the Reviewers to review their species since it gives them good PR, it really shows the influence these reviewers have and gives surprising commentary on our life.
Oh yeah, there is also a lot of sex, I have gone this far without mentioning some people consider this anime borderline hentai, which is fair, it got taken off of Funimation and removed from Tokyo MX in Japan, this anime was controversial to say the least, what makes this very special compared to other ecchi anime is they are not afraid to show and do everything.
Overall, I give this anime a 10/10, because I truly see no flaws with it, there are better anime out there sure, but Interspecies Reviewers is perfect at what it does and is perfect in what it's trying to be, if you can get past the weirdness of an intersex angel doing it with a furry hyena girl, you will enjoy it and be surprised at how well made it actually is.
TL;DR Interspecies Reviewers is one of the most unique and well-made anime of the 2020s, and the only flaw is that they haven't made a season 2 already, it's sad that a lot of anime fans will skip this because of the premise because it is truly special.
Goodnight, and sweet dreams.
