It started off pretty interesting, with the whole set up and attempt to stage a dramatic death and all, as well as the MC's thoughts on his own manga as he goes along.
Characters are all fairly stereotypical, but that's fine considering that its part of the whole premise the story is based on.
But honestly, what really prompted me to write a review was the ending, where things like the responses of manga readers, editors and such were brought up, and the last couple chapters in particular, where (minor spoiler) he's working on the final chapter of his work before he gains the resolve to
...
create the ending he truly wants for himself, and his characters.
It was here where I actually felt that there was actually a intent, a message behind this whole manga. Put simply, I saw it as a representation of the internal conflict of authors as they choose between pandering to their audience, writing something they enjoy, and interpreting their editors advice. And on that note, this part actually reminded me of that "Re:Creators" anime a while back in that sense... But since this came out first, it'd be the other way around, haha...
Now granted, I'm not an expert in this industry, and that it is simply my own interpretation of the manga, so I might be seeing something where there's nothing, but even so, it was enough to prompt a review from me. Even if it wasn't a profoundly deep message or anything like that.
And then there was that typical cliche romance(?) thrown in as well. But I feel that more veered towards simple authorial love rather than romantic love for the characters towards the end as well, which is well, fine by me, but honestly, I wouldn't have minded either way...
Perhaps the best part of the manga was how the MC interacted with his creations, and his inner monologue as he plots and attempts to put those schemes into action, but again, that kinda falls off towards the end...
Overall, the story was quite chaotic, especially towards the end, but whether it was intentional or not, I have no idea, considering the plot with the editor and all... But the execution of the whole thing could've certainly been done better, especially the ending, which was rather... abrupt... to say the least But it was enough for me and pretty much fit the series, although it was probably not satisfactory for everyone. The manga is nothing amazing, but nonetheless, I did enjoy it.

Hooo... I'll be honest here, I came in without very high expectations, seeing as the title sounded quite ridiculous, I mean, really? Getting killed by your best friend because of losing your virginity before him? If that doesn't sound like a joke of a plot, then I ain't sure what does.
But boy, it turned out more serious than I expected. And, well, that was quite a pleasant surprise. It's especially interesting to see the effects of the Ichijou's actions in his attempt to escape his perceived future, and how it seems that the future is almost predetermined, even if small changes are made here and
...
there.
Well, overall, it was nice too see the Ichijous's internal conflict and how he acts in certain situations, and the conclusion was fairly nice as well although it would have been nice for a short epilogue to round of the ending. So, not bad, not bad...

Alright basically, the anime is pretty good, except for two things: the concept of time travelling, and the ending.
(Some spoilers ahead)
The fact that the time travelling wasn't explained too much didn't actually bother me too much, but I think the anime could be better if it explained how the time travelling worked. It was mainly the ending that left me unsatisfied... Part of it is purely personal, since I wanted Satoru to be with Kayo. The other part of it was that Satoru lost 15 years of his life in the process of trying to save people and what did he get? Lost time and
...
missed opportunities... He didn't deserve that to happen to him... Even though that might be a "realistic" type of ending, it just doesn't sit well with me, so I guess both reasons I disliked the ending were personal...
Well to conclude, the anime is good, very good. It's just that the ending that is not satisfying... It was so close... so close to being perfect...

Anime was pretty good at the start, it had a dark feel and there was a fair bit of action. After that it wasn't as good, the dark feel at the start of the series wasn't there anymore and there was less action as well. Honestly, the action isn't too important to me, but it was pretty good at the start. Although the fact that there was less of a dark atmosphere later on in the series kinda made it less enjoyable, as that was what I came for.
Anyway, the best part of the series was at the start. It goes a bit downhill
...
later. The later parts of the anime felt a bit rushed as well, which may have been why it not seem as good...
