I hate anime where the MC is just plain dumb.
I'm 8 episodes in, this guy is told that this VR game thing is super realistic and whatnot and despite everything he's been through in it, he still acts like a dumbass and gets himself rekt over every episode because he expects it to be "just another game". Like as if he didn't learn from his previous experiences how realistic it really is.
Outside the virtual reality of the game, he finds stupid reasons to go back to the game after depressing exits, filled with newfound determination and once again, gets knocked out

I'm all for anime where the character is OP. Not this one.
The main character here is overpowered, but since everyone in the place he grew up is also overpowered (and stronger than him), he believes he's super weak. Even when he goes to a weak-ass place, he thinks he's weak there too. This I can understand. But they push this gimmick on through the entire series. It's not a bit of naivete that lasts 1 or 2 episodes. No. Throughout the entire series, not one person explains to him the reality. This results in the main character acting like a total dumbass and pretending that the villains ... |
