Oh what's that? You think this is another generic power fantasy isekai? Well think again, because in this show, the MC gets reincarnated into the SAME world, making this pure fantasy. Checkmate isekai haters.
Yeah this is basically just another power fantasy isekai.
In this case, the gimmick is the crest that everyone is born with. MC reached his limit, and wanted a reroll to get the crest best suited for combat. However, once he is reincarnated he comes into a world that thinks the strongest crest is instead the weakest, and magic in general has regressed significantly since the time he was alive. To the shows
...
credit, that is a pretty interesting twist that could give rise to some very interesting world building, But in the end, though it wasn't bad, the world building wasn't really that good either. The reveal was interesting enough, but after that it just became a very generic fantasy setting of trying to kill the bad group, with a super powered MC surrounded by girls.
So basically, the main thing that could have made this show interesting is addressed too quickly, which meant there wasn't too much to look forward to, unless you like these types of shows.

I like to think of Orient as a fast food shounen. It has those things you may want from your shounen: bit of tragedy, some back stories and flashbacks, a couple fights and situations that make characters come out stronger. But in the end, you know damn well it isn't really that good. Can it potentially hit a spot if you’re desperate? sure. But um. Anime isn't fast food. You have options here, so there isn't much of a point to watch this.
But to actually explain what this even is, we have a world where demons exist and are thought of as gods, and the
...
Samurai that fight to protect people from them are shunned. The MC is a miner who's friends with the son of a samurai, the only one in town, and he has a dream of being a samurai himself. There's nothing too special about the premise or it's execution. Sure, I won't pretend everything that happened was obvious, but that doesn't necessarily mean it was good. The world is not particularly interesting either. Everything looks the same, and it's all desert-like and boring which doesn't help. But all that being said, that doesn't mean this is bad. As I said, it does have the basics that you would more or less expect. The issue is that that is all this has. It feels more like the show is trying to hit a checklist of what this should be, rather than actually provide an interesting story.

I feel somewhat bad for this show, because despite being unwatchable, it does have some good aspects about it. Not good enough to actually tell you to watch this, please avoid this like the plague (and other things…), but I do feel it may be worth mentioning, maybe to read source material or something.
- I personally liked the bantering between our two main characters. I genuinely found certain interactions to be quite funny, which was great amidst the rest of what I had to watch.
- The story itself could be interesting as well, maybe with a change of pacing. Quite a few different groups striving
...
for a similar goal, for different reasons. Quite a few twists and turns, some of which don't land too well because of pacing, but nevertheless, genuine attempts were made to make something interesting, and I think it's worth highlighting that.
Even though I haven't really said much, I'll just leave it at that. I assume there will be troll reviews and actual reviews that both basically tell you to avoid this anime, which you should, since the animation seriously eliminates all possibilities of enjoyment. Just figured I would at least point out that there is a non-zero% chance that this could be a decent series if it had a better adaptation. So basically, if the synopsis seems at all interesting, it may be worth checking out the manga.

Fairly straightforward takeaways from this show, which are as follows:
- Animation is great
- The music in this show is really good
- Though I would feel a bit harsh in saying the story is bad, average is probably as generous as I would go with it. It has some somewhat interesting aspects to it, but in general it's fairly uninteresting.
That's really all there is to it. Would I recommend you to watch it? Not really. I enjoyed the animation in fight sequences (which basically are carrying this somewhat generous score), so you can watch the show for that, and use it as background noise when that
...
isn't happening. But by that point, you might as well just watch youtube compilations of the fights, since I assume those will exist (I mean, the official crunchyroll channel has a few). So there is not much to gain actually watching this.

I'm going to give this a higher score in this review than I will in my list. My reason for that is the fact that the main issue that this show faces is something that can be avoided now that the show has finished airing. But what is that issue?
They adapted the manga out of order. To be clear, that isn't an issue in and of itself. There are some reasons why that choice could have been a good one: maybe it could have helped build mystery, or maybe it would have helped with world-building in some way. But the issue here is the fact
...
that this isn't a mystery show, and there is no actual reason to do this. All this did was create confusion for the sake of being confusing. Instead of being able to just enjoy the show, we have to re-orient ourselves every few episodes and wonder, are we continuing the arc, are we in the past, or are we in the future? This is annoying, and completely makes me lose interest in what's going on, which is a shame, because I really enjoyed the first couple of episodes.
But with all that said, now that the show has finished airing, you can watch the episodes in chronological order, and remove this issue. So should you do that? Although I don't necessarily think the show is anything special, I do think it definitely has things to like about it.
The story revolves around the conflicts between humans, demihumans, and ogres, and the conflicts that exist between them. Demihumans are completely discriminated against, while ogres aren't exactly the kindest towards humans. Our main character, Sally, starts off on a quest to find a certain someone, and along the way, also ends up seeing these conflicts up close, and decides that things shouldn't be that way. She wants everyone to be able to co-exist, a view which can be seen as very naive, and which may somewhat contradict the special power she seems to get when she needs to fight. The journey, along with the different people that are involved in it who each have their own views and worries make for a pretty interesting world that's worth exploring, if the premise sounds interesting to you. I will say again, the series isn't really anything special, but it should still be a decent time, as long as you watch the episodes in chronological order (which you can definitely look up and find somewhere).

Okay so I'm not entirely sure on how to feel about this. Though this definitely isn't good.
The thing I can confidently say is that the first half of this is a recap, and the second half is actual new material. I won't be spoiling anything that happens, though I will assume you actually watched the series obviously.
What we needed at the end of the season was an episode to just tie a few things together. Instead, we got an episode that seemed to contradict a few things that had occurred, and just gave us more questions without addressing the loose ends that may have already
...
existed. Thus, this brings us to the next point. Why was this made? More specifically, is this the end?
If this is the end, then this is a really bad ending. Sure, I suppose maybe this can be analyzed for some hidden meanings and someone can probably explain why this is great, and I won't argue against it if that's the case, but in terms of the actual story, all this did is make things more confusing. We now have an even less conclusive ending than we had at the end of the season.
If this isn't the end, and we end up with a second season, then this is arguably a decent way to bridge between the two seasons. Though I am fairly certain this is not the case. And if it was, I don't really see how a second season would be anywhere near as interesting as the first. We've explored so many themes already, and though there is clearly a path to be taken for the story, that does not mean it would be as entertaining. The mysteries that remain won't be as interesting as the ones that have already been explored. A second season should not have been needed based on what we got from the first, so if this ends up being the path they take, I still wouldn't agree with this choice for a special. (but again, I assume this isn't the case, just mentioning this on the small possibility that it is)
Ultimately, this is a disappointing ending. If you haven't watched this yet, just pretend it doesn't exist. Season 1 is all we have.

Yeah it’s a recap alright! We have Ifrit and Veldora narrating the events that occurred in Season 2 part 1, and they also talk and banter among themselves to keep things interesting. Worth a watch if you want a bit of a refresher, or to just hype yourself up a bit for the season that's about to start. But it doesn't add anything, so if you don't need that, or if you're someone that's reading this in the future when part 2 is already out, then you can just skip this.
Not much more to say really, it's just a recap.

Quick review because this show doesn't really need a long one.
This is a rom-com called "Don't Toy with Me, Nagatoro-san" written by a hentai artist.
You really don't need to know more than that. You should already know whether or not you would enjoy it. If you read that and think "that sounds dumb" or "I won't enjoy that" then guess what? You won’t enjoy it. This show is exactly what it advertises itself to be (except a bit more wholesome and less ecchi than you might expect), so there should be no reason to watch it if you know you won't like it.
But to explain
...
a bit more anyways, well, you get exactly what you would expect. A girl teasing a somewhat wimpy guy everyday. There's no story or anything, though there will be the occasional mini-arc (there's one this season, I assume there will be more in the future). And obviously, given who it's written by, it does more or less revolve around sexual stuff, and this definitely has some fanservice/ecchi elements (though not as much as you may think it would have). Besides that, we have genuinely funny stuff, along with some surprisingly wholesome moments, as it becomes very clear that the main characters do in fact care for each other!
I will add a small caveat here if you fall into the category of people that may enjoy this: the first episode is bad. Like, that episode was just straight up bullying without anything redeeming to it (well…). It sort of made the second episode feel a bit disconnected because it seemingly immediately switched to more light-hearted teasing and what I assume most people would expect. So just as a heads up if you decide to watch this, you'll kinda need to push through the first episode.
But yeah, I mean maybe you want me to say more but if you are still undecided on whether you should watch this or not, it probably means you wouldn't enjoy it.

This had potential to be amazing. Instead, it's just…. Decent. Don't get me wrong, I still really enjoyed this show quite a bit, but it just does not hit anywhere near the potential because of the extreme lack of animation.
But before getting into that further, what is this show about? Shakunetsu Kabaddi is about the sport of Kabaddi, which I knew absolutely nothing about. It's a sport that's most popular around India, and to oversimplify the rules drastically: two teams of 7 on each side of the court take turns to send one person to the other side and tag others out, while trying not
...
to get tackled. If the person makes it back to their side of the court, they get points and tagged people get out, if not, the defending team gets the point and the failed attacker gets out. That's the simplified explanation. I don't know if that sells you on the idea, but it really sounds like an incredibly entertaining show to watch. I F O N L Y W E C O U L D. They don't animate the sport. Like at all. They show the character take a few steps, and then show still frame showing contact with the same annoying *STRUGGLE* said by the imaginary narrator. We hear the characters thoughts about what's going on, but they don't show anything. We just have to accept what the characters are saying, and just fill in the gaps ourselves. It's just underwhelming, and honestly enough to understandably put people off. But despite this I still enjoyed it. Why is that. Well I've laid out the main issue with it, so I'll now give it credit where it's due.
The show's story is not anything too special, in fact there is literally another show airing this season involving a team that does not have enough players wanting more of them in order to properly compete in competitions… But it works well, and makes sense, since who the hell has even heard of this sport? The characters are fun, and there were a couple of pretty funny moments throughout the show as well. Since of course, it's not as if the entire show is spent playing the sport; there is plenty of the slice of life aspects that's pretty common in sports series, but there is still enough of the sport to keep us from getting too bored. It has a nice balance of the two.
So should you watch this? If you do not care at all about animation and don't mind a bit of stop motion, then this is genuinely a fun show with some really cool moments. If animation is important to you, or specifically if you at least expect it from a sports series, then unfortunately this isn't quite good enough.

Well, since there isn't a review yet, might as well make a quick one.
This is just another episode, which is good stuff. More impossible tasks for our characters to try and figure out! But yeah I mean. If you watched the main series and enjoyed it, this is just an extra episode. There isn't much more to say really.
If you haven't watched the show yet, you could potentially watch this still and give it a chance. You may not know each characters quirks, but you could possibly figure a bit out about each character through this, and then decide if you want to watch the
...
main series.
But yeah, that's about it really.
