The review contains spoilers!
I find Takemichi to be insufferable. I gave him a pass for nearly cheating on his girlfriend when he woke up in his younger self's body because I can't blame him for that when it was his younger, more ignorant self making that stupid mistake. However, when he fully intended to cheat again at Draken's home, I can no longer give him a pass. He is currently a 26-year-old man in his younger self's body, so he should not be making the same ignorant mistakes. It also contradicts his entire character and purpose. You can chalk this up to being fanservice or

throwing in a "light-hearted moment" but what exactly is light-hearted about cheating on the girl you love so much? I just call that bad writing. This is on top of all the constant over-the-top whining that seems to replace any form of dialogue to allow him to talk no Jutsu his way through most situations, which feels extremely out of place most of the time given the kinds of people he is talking to. Mikey and Draken carried this anime. My personal favorite would be Draken. They're interesting characters who fit the overall theme of the show and haven't done anything to annoy me.
All of the characters look like they're in their 20s or 30s, which is just another example of why caring about age in anime rather than how they look is a bit silly, given they're fictional and not real people. So this didn't bother me like it did some people, however, it does become hard to ignore how edgy and over the top this anime is because of how long this season dragged on. In my opinion, this anime would have benefited far more from having around 12-14 episodes at most. Initially, I found myself enjoying this around an 8/10, but I started to dislike Takemichi and some of the other characters. There isn't much character development, the plot gets boring, and I found myself genuinely bored about halfway through. The anime is still okay enough to keep me mildly entertained while I finished, but it's never a good sign when you feel relieved to be finished an anime. Kazutora earns a spot in my "most annoying anime characters of the all-time list." The logic behind him turning on Mikey was one of the dumbest things I have ever seen in anime. First off, it all could have been avoided if he just waited and listened before jumping to the conclusion of killing someone. Second, he could have listened to Baji yelling at him to stop. In any case, he didn't, and it is a violent anime, so that is fine. But how did he go from being okay with murdering someone to blaming it on Mikey and going insane in a matter of seconds? He didn't go insane from murdering someone, so was it just because he was about to be caught and because it was Mikey's brother? Look, I understand the logic, but it was just incredibly silly and every scene with that character was unbearable. The characters are either bad or just okay. The story is just okay. The animation is just okay, and honestly, I found the fighting to be a bit goofy at times.
Overall, I would say this is the modern future diaries or akame ga kill. It's extremely edgy and likely popular among mainstream anime fans and young people. It's not bad, but it's not amazing either.

Dragon Maid is always a top-tier anime. Everything about dragon maid is well above average. The story is great. Sure, it's no large-scale fantasy epic with hundreds of characters and insane world-building, but that's not what it's trying to be. The story does have its epic moments, but most of the time it will leave you with this sense of happiness and relaxation. The animation is essentially perfect. We all know Kyoto has insanely good animation, so there is nothing more to say. The same goes for the sound design, so I will say nothing more about that. The characters are great, and I love

the relationship between all of them. It is nice having the main character like Kobayashi for a change. The main character in an anime like this often turns out to be a generic male MC with a harem. Dragon maid, for all its simplicity, hits different. The anime executes what it is trying to do perfectly. Kanna is the cutest damn cinnamon roll on the planet, and I would give anything to adopt her. If you give an anime with Kanna a low rating, I would say you're objectively a boring person. This brings me to my next point. If Kanna being adorable isn't enough to make you at least somewhat enjoy this anime, on top of everything else I've mentioned, then maybe anime just isn't for you. In the end, I factually know the majority of anime fans would enjoy this anime thoroughly. This anime will go down as a classic, and I think we all know why someone might give this a low review. Yes, I am looking at you, the person who came straight from Twitter angry about boobs. Fortunately, most people can spot an exceptional anime when they see one, and Dragon Maid is no exception.

I watch these sorts of fan service sports anime when I am bored, tired, eating, or simply need something to fill the time and don't want to watch something that is driven by a meaningful story with interesting characters and plot. Fan service does not bother me when done correctly, and let's be honest if you're interested in watching this anime you're primarily interested in the girls in bikinis playing sports.

The problem with Harukana Receive is that the main characters are very unlikeable. Haruka is annoyingly good at everything. She improves at such an unreasonable rate that it feels sad watching

her begin to outshine and dominate girls who have given their lives to this sport. Kanata on the other hand is a girl who ran away from the sport, abandoning the 'friend' Narumi who she made a promise with to become national champions. Then, she easily returns to the sport with Haruka, and what's her way of apologizing to Narumi? "I'll keep my promise, but this time with Haruka." This apology genuinely made me want to vomit and this is when this show went from an okay sports anime with decently attractive girls and fanservice to a show I struggled to finish. I then had to watch them somehow overcome Emily and Claire, who were kind enough to train them, in order to finish season 1. Watching Emily and Claire get defeated felt awful. It would have been better to have the main characters lose and for once be humbled.
The best part of this anime is the side characters. Narumi, Ayasa, Emily, and Claire. They're likable characters who work hard to earn their talent over years of practice and dedication. Narumi is especially the best girl and is the only one who actually looks the part. Unfortunately, The main characters ruin this anime.
