Even though it was an anime more than 10 years ago, the development is more unpredictable than I expected.
As for the title, it was an unpredictable animation in a good way. But I think it was a work with exquisite content that was not too unreasonable.

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood is a remake of the "Fullmetal Alchemist", and I had a faint memory of seeing 2003 when I was a kid. Cringe and disgusting. And I tell you why I really hate this anime, which is I rated it as the most shitty anime in this season, no I mean in the year.
The most important aspect that really bothers me a lot is "how the writer sees people or characters besides the main character".
It really pisses me off! The creator seems to have a tendency to demean others in real life, which is reflected in this anime.
Especially the 2 heroines who love MC so much to death, but the MC himself has nothing worth in return.
The writer made those 2 heroines look like a chic who
...
seduces an ugly old man in the corner of the street.
The heroines falling in love with the MC just because of Osananajimi, and it's totally pathetic.
Writer needs to create deeper reasons to make them fall in love.
But not only those 2 girls, there are some other characters that are despised in this anime. The Kuro's worshippers, Shiro's fake boyfriend, and MC friend.
Those characters are made just to make MC better.
From this point, I see that the writer is a narcissistic asshole.
I don't know why but I feel that this anime portrays the light novel creator's dream to become popular and being loved by so many girls, without any good reasons.
I'm so mean to the writer because he's so mean to the female character in this anime. I know they are fictional characters, but I think it is how he sees women in real life.
Don't get me wrong, I watched ecchi and hentai anime like HighSchool DxD and KissxSis, but in terms of MC humiliating others as "LoveCome" genre, this anime is number one!
Now about the MC, the creator seems to have tried to make him cool, but failed in some points.
MC is pathetic and will be pathetic until the end.
If you want to make MC pathetic and goofy, at least you need to make him interesting. Without this, MC is just a plain character.
And then oil is poured into the fire by adding "SAD" or tragedy for MC in the past, in order to make him cooler.
But it ain't gonna happen. It just shows how pathetic this whole anime is.
The light novel is still being published, but I hope the anime won't get a second season.
I have a tendency to watch all anime, and review it as honestly as possible based on my perspective.
That's why, I will never recommend this anime to anyone, especially if you love comedy, slice of life, and romance anime. Despite this show "calling itself" with those 3 tree genres, I don't think that it suits them all.

If you judge this anime from its cover and decided not to watch it or drop it after watching 2 episodes, you lose the hidden gem!
Everything in this anime mind-blowing...
The story is very deep.
The reason why mankind become animals is astonishing.
The OST very catchy, especially the opening is showing overall situation of the series.
Highly recommended! You will never find this kind original anime in 5 years ahead, I guess.
Edit: It's not surprising this anime become one the most high rated in MAL.
But still, I don't suggest this anime to anyone who loves ecchi or trash-story harem anime.
Because it's all about plot and story.

I watched it because the producer has created great anime so far. But, it turns out to be a great driver steer the Triumph Mayflower.
The problem lays on the original creator himself. Lack of humor sense, story telling, and character development. The anime is only highlighting to the cuteness throughout the series.
The original creator is just like hentai ojiisan staring at the bunch of cute high school girls in the train and made a wild fantasy on his head, and then show everything off to the audiences.
I just watched 12 episodes and my neuron starting to die.
Jesus Christ! I need a healing!!!

Holy crap!! What the hell is this??
I never thought that this kind of piece is exist in anime industry!!!
I'm sorry for any fans, but I personally don't like it!

The story is crap! No progress... I gave it a chance until 10 episode, almost one season end, but no progress at all... And I dropped it because I can't stand it anymore. 80% of my neurons died because of this!
Fans services are decent, but the jokes are shit.
I kept my poker face through the episode.

The male main character is plain, bullshit, crap, and useless.
In this anime, he becomes star which any hot girls are dying for him... but in the real world, no one cares.
I want to punch my monitor every time he appears in every scenes.
But I'll be honest, I kept watching this anime because of the music. Opening theme and ending theme are great. Even the background musics are outstanding.
But, only the music.
So, I won't recommend this anime to anyone! Else, your brain will die! Your neuron will die! Your life will meaningless...

Just like what people said... this anime could blow your head away! Honestly, I'm not the type who loves the magical girls genre, and even this is my second mahou-shoujo-themed anime series that I've ever watched in the last 25 years, while the first one is Cardcaptor Sakura that I watched it when I was child.
I gave it a shot after I read several comment in anime forums, plus I saw the rating for +17, which make me think that there's something fishy within. And I really didn't regret to watch this series because the content is great!
Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica isn't a usual

magical girl anime series out there, it includes some despair that makes you feel not right watching cute girls in shitty situation. I usually watching an anime that involve cute girls doing cute things, but in this anime, you will see cute girls doing hell things.
The plot has standard concept, but the execution isn't really for kids. You know, comes the magical girls who fight against the evil called Witch, and protect the justice. But then again, you will see some great reality that doing justice alone is mere a naive thing you may have here. So, in this anime, you won't see a world split by white and black, but the characters are in a gray area.
Just like what I wrote in AnimeBibly.com, to watch this anime, you need at least understand about time travel, parallel world, and time paradox theory. Or else, you may get confused in the several last episode. Oops, without giving you any spoiler, make sure you learn about those three theory first.
The art is the strongest point here. Without this, the anime will only like the standard magical girl genre. The art gives a dark vibe, and really shake your psychological with the horror atmosphere. The characters designs are good, especially the main character who really stands out!
Overall
If you love some anime with psychological thriller like Steins;Gate, or Death Note, or Mirai Nikki, then you have to try this anime. Just like the three of anime I mentioned, Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica is also a thriller but in a cute form.
