Demon slayer Hashira Training arc. The newest addition to the demon slayer franchise, was rather a.... horrible one.
Reading the title someone would expect an in-depth training and character development for our protagonists in the show, being Tanjiro, Inosuke and Zenitsu. Instead, throughout the entirety of the arc, it felt as if we are back in square one. Despite the visable (not) triumph of ufotable to make this season enjoyable, they sadly failed for 2 reasons.
1: being that the source material itself failed in this arc and 2: The added anime only scenes were poorly done, in terms of comedy and interactions itself.

this arc, it felt like the side cast of the show, were riding Tanjiro's tip throughoutt 7 episodes, making him look like the embodiment of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ himself. You might be asking, what did Tanjiro do to rechieve this dickriding? Cook fish and rice balls for a total of at least 20+ minutes in this arc.
The Hashira themselves, are sadly pretty boring. The 3 "new" additions to the cast (because we havent seen anything from them) Iguro, Sanemi and Gyomei, were poorly introduced and made them insufferable for me, with the exclusion of Gyomei who i enjoyed his philosophy and backstory. In general the hashira are insufferable. Unneeded screaming and shitty jokes throughout this arc. All of them could genuinely die in the next arc and i wouldnt feel a thing (apart from Gyomei, Shinobu and maybe Muichiro cause unlike the others he's not loud)
The best episode was by FAR the last one. But Ufotable's attempted try on selling the long running episodes was horribly made. Second to last episode: Unneeded 5 minute Muzan walk, whcih didnt make him one bit scary or intimidating and instead made him look like he was entering MadWalk 2006 or a Bollywood wedding scene. Same thing with the last one, which they included it AGAIN, while also adding the unnecessary pov of every Hashira falling into the Infinity castle.
The only positives to take from this Demon Slayer arc, is the fight and the once again, stellar visuals from Ufotable. They were sadly not enough to make this season good tho. It is sad that, probably the best episode in the series so far, was wasted on this arc.
In conclusion, you could deadass skip this entire arc apart from the last episode and you wont miss a thing, or simply, just read the manga, which will take you like at max 15 minutes cause its 5 chapters or so.
This show does NOT deserve the score of 8.21 as of now on MAL. This is delusion and the fans/stans of this show have gaslit themselves into thinking this was good. It is also sad that i know that this will win fantasy of the year on the crunchyroll awards next year, despite Frieren, Delicious in Dungeon and Mushoku Tensei airing this year. Many people have claimed that this anime made Ufotable, which is down right disrespectful to the trials and tributes the studio has been through for 20 years now. Demon Slayer is not even the best show that they have animated and this is coming from someone that genuinely enjoyed the Entertainment District arc. Go figure, an arc with a structure and a good story, is...good?
