The enjoyed the art style as well as the characters, they were well written and realistic, I especially liked the brainy mc as I am a fan of smart mc's, I'm also a fan of Japanese history and Samurai in general and this manga provides information about such topics so I really appreciate that and would recommend it to others that enjoy them. my main gripe with this manga though is the ending, it was so close to being really well done until the very end...
(SPOILERS)
Uchi ends up letting Toyo go on the boat saying he has to stay due to thing not yet being
...
"settled" and yet all plot points have been addressed and there are no lose ends as far as I am concerned, the final panels then depict him running through a wheat field and then throwing his katana into the air alongside an explanation of what goes on in Japan at the end of the Edo period, we never get to see what Uchi was referring to when he talks about unsettled affairs nor do we get to find out what happens to him, the mangaka created a loose end at the VERY END OF THE MANGA, it's really frustrating and disappointing.
Other than the very end I think the manga was quite enjoyable.
