This is one of the worst anime that has been gaining too much hype this season.
Overall - 5
The anime has a mildly interesting storyline spoiled by generic characters. As far as the episodes that have come out, the anime has no purpose whatsoever other than fulfilling its quota of okayish action sequences with moderate amounts of gore and no horror whatsoever. The only reason you should watch this anime is if you were fooled into watching it by the amount of hype that built up to its release or you are simply into shitty action anime with retarded characters.
Story - 3
A generic dystopian future

where humans are fighting "kabane", which are sorta like titan zombies. I say fighting but it's more like getting slaughtered till a mechanic and a ninja girl come together and kick some moderate ass. People travel around in trains which connect stations and most of the actions revolve around these train being attacked. The plot is driven by the stupidity of the characters and there is no major plot whatsoever. There are serious logical inconsistencies so if you want to enjoy the anime, I'd suggest lobotomy and removing the frontal lobe of your brain.
Character - 2
While designing the characters I guess the writers were as short sighted as Ikoma (wears glasses) himself. I have visceral hate towards the anime to the extent that I make sure to tell everyone what a piece of shit this is, and I believe most of it stems from my disgust with the characters in this anime. The only characters I find good are the children in the story and Ikoma's friends.
Ikoma is a enthusiastic mechanic with shitty hair and weird metal arm who hates the adults for their narrow mindedness towards sh*t in general, especially victims of Kabane attacks. Every episode has him spouting generic motivational bullsh*t and taking illogical decisions that everyone agrees to because, well they are fu**ing retarded.
Mumei is a arrogant, self-righteous prick who is wearing rouge permanently and maybe thats why her facial expressions come before the dialogues. I mean even before Ikoma vomits his "why she is worth saving" speech, her eyes and mouth open with the cheeks becoming redder than the usual rouge...ugh...hate her.
Ayame is the "damsel in distress", who has little contribution to the story. Actually scratch that, she doesn't matter to the story.
