These two series cleverly mask themselves in the sports genre but there's more to them. The competitive sports part of both anime are evident however it's merely used as a device to explore the characters and their beliefs. The obstacles they encounter perform a large role in characterization as we see them either overcome the hurdle or fail. If you're looking for a sports orientated anime then you may end up disappointed.

Comedy at its finest! The majority of the humor stems from misunderstandings, leading to immense amount of frustration but insanity ensues. The situations the characters end up in can be considered highly unlikely in real life and over-the-top but it's a great recipe for fast-paced comedy and story.

While one is more focused on the comedic aspect and the other (Prison school) takes itself seriously on a few occasions, the main attraction of both series is explicitly stating sexual jokes and references that can be quite funny at times. Coupled with a good dose of fan-service, it should make for an entertaining watch.

When it comes cyberpunk settings anime, these two are a must watch. Futuristic police and government action, not to forget the fact that both anime franchises were created by Production I.G. Both series have female lead characters, something you don't come across a lot in anime.
