Story 2/10

Pretty generic. If you've read other supernatural manga then you've read this one already. It paints itself as being dark and gloomy but in the end it's as lighthearted and DBZ.

Art 10/10

Holy f this manga is on the level of ther masterpieces like Oyasumi Punpun. While it does not delve into realism, it's typical manga style is seasoned with a style that is more stylized.

On one side all characters are one sided and one noted. It also happens that a lot of of them suffer from sameface. I can barely distinguish some of them if not for the panels explicitly naming them. Aside from that, I just hate every character here.

Enjoyment 4/10

If I was either someone that loves to ship characters or was a teenager that has no taste I would have loved this, but since I'm not I just got some mild enjoyment.

If you are a teenager with no real taste you will probably enjoy this. Otherwise you'll have a hard time getting into this story.

When I started watching this show I was hyped. A new Trigger anime and it's a mecha show. AWESOME. Then I read that t was a collab between A1 and trigger and shouted to the sky dreadful words.

Ok, the animation is pretty, I love that it doesn't has the SAO animation where it's just flashing lights and utter confusion. Everything is beautiful on this anime aside from secondary characters which look like they've been copy pasted from other A1 shows. Also, THE MECHAS ARE HORRIBLE, ... WHOEVER MADE THE DESIGN OF THE FRANXX IS NUTS, holy moly, they really are horrible. I was gonna give this section an 8 but then i remembered the mecha design. LAME

Sound 4/10

The sound is pretty generic. The only time I noticed it was when on a battle the volume exploded and the voice said, and I'm not exaggerating, "PUT YOUR HANDS UP". That left me dumbfounded. Nearly every anime I've seen has a better soundtrack than this and has better music selection.

Character 1/10

Hiro is a Kirito, everyone from the squad is an cliche, zero two acts erratically not because of something but because of yes. The characters from this show are some of the worst I've ever seen. I want to believe that the screenwriters wanted to make some kind of Evangelion shenanigans where everything is deep and *insert a made up Freud reference*, but no, the characters are generic and I can't empathize with them because of how much they look like the poor's man Evangelion.

Enjoyment 2/10

Can't say much. Bad characters, bad story, bad sound... The only redeeming thing in this shitshow is the art which is precious.

Overall 3/10

Go watch Evangelion, Tengen Toppa, Gundam and Code Geass if you want a good mecha show done well. This show is not a drama, mystery or psychological one, it's a teenager melodrama done badly with mechas in the background

I'm gonna watch this show until it ends and either make proper changes to this review to reflect the added story points or write a new one in case that everything I've said here is no longer true
