Second season is lackluster compared to first, because even s1 left out so many little world-buildy details, which were supposed to be expanded in s2. Theres no talk about skills, Ryomas talks with gods in LN always expanded upon world, but in anime they feel just like a filler.

If you liked s1, my suggestion is to read novels and stay away from anime, read from the vol1 as it will give you extra events, details and even characters that were left out, not to mention depth of characters that made appearance
