If you like shounen anime with likeable characters, frequent power ups, and great fights, this is the show for you. Why I recommend HxH: - Every aspect of chakra (Nen for HxH) is explained. How they gather it, focus it, use it; the general mechanics of their powers is explained in detail for both anime - and this is something to be appreciated. - Most fights are well choreographed. The MC in HxH is generally far more tactical than Naruto, so the fights in HxH in general are more tactical in nature -- especially the big fights. Note: Hunter x Hunter does start off slow. Their powers don't begin to arise for quite some time, however stick with it and you'll enjoy it. I highly recommend this anime.

If you want to see a pacifist MC with a dark past be pushed far beyond his limit of patience, pushed into a corner, and forced to destroy his enemies in awesome fight scenes, look no further. Each show also has light hearted comedic relief, great plots, memorable characters, and great english voice acting.

Both animes have: - Post apocalyptic future desert setting - Silly main characters who are very good at what they do when they get serious - Lots of very great gunfighting scenes - Very funny comedic elements sewn into each episode - Episodic format that weaves and builds up to the main plot - Good plots that are more complex than first meets the eye - Both have very good and polished english dubs (Usually i do subs but I'd HIGHLY recommend both in english for the best comedic elements to shine) Differences: - Desert Punk is generally a more raunchy show and the characters are far more merciless. The MC of Desert Punk emphasizes that you need to be merciless in their world while Trigun's MC emphasizes pacifism. - Trigun's MC has more of a complex background
