Gunslinger Girl is essentially a much darker and serious version of Black Bullet. It is a true hidden gem in my opinion.

They are written by the same authors. The manga adaptation of Eureka Seven is a more mature and "edgy" adaptation of the anime series. I honestly prefer the manga version of Eureka Seven to its anime counterpart. It's definitely worth checking out if you are remotely interested in mechs.

White Album 2

If you enjoyed this OVA (or Kyou's route of the game) then you will appreciate the dynamic among the cast of White Album 2. Both Clannad and White Album 2 are presented in such a way that you feel sympathetic for the entire cast. Even though you may have a personal favorite girl, you don't wish the worst for the other girl. The characters are flawed but not unlikeable. The protagonist has to accept the fact that he can only be with one of the girls who loves him.

Persona 3 the Movie 1: Spring of Birth

Persona 3 is better enjoyed as a game rather than an anime, but the movies do a fairly good job at representing the main cast and plot. The inspiration that Persona takes from Eva should be fairly clear in its characters and general plot structure. Both have school/social life mixed in with deep characterization and periodic action sequences. The mechs/personas used to fight enemies are intricately tied to the person using them. The themes are a bit different, but they are explored in similar ways. Evangelion focuses primarily on our desire to connect with others while Persona focuses on the inevitability of death. Psychoanalytic concepts (e.g. Jung's idea of the shadow) are mentioned throughout both in order to reinforce the core messages of the series.
