A typical "Monster of the week" anime.

If like myself you are reaching for any anime that sounds interesting because you've seen the greats, this will be hit and miss. The premise started off pretty decent but since it's a typical "monster of the week" show it loses its luster pretty quickly. Some of the characters are pretty fun to follow and the situation is somewhat humorous, but the story just goes around in a circle. But for a monster of the week show it's pretty decent. The 480p widescreen quality really doesn't do this show any favors and the English cast is decent enough, ... I watched it on Hidive which only had the dubbed version.

It's worth watching if you see and have nothing else to watch, but don't expect much. It's average, which is a bummer since the premise would have been interesting otherwise.

This anime seemed to be edited to death to keep it at 12 episodes, there was a lot of potential storylines and loose threads that was just swept to the side, which is sad because it really seemed like they were building up to something with the main characters history and growth, protests, laws and politicians.

So, what does this leave? Well, a pretty good vampire cop story about human hatred toward vampires and terrorism, characters you will enjoy watching, combined with a decent love story that at first is the forefront, but ends up taking the backstage. The MC is the A-typical emo vampire ... who hates being one, so it isn't without its troupes.

It's a good watch if you aren't sick of vampires and want something with political intrigue. But it really should have had a second season, as it is now it isn't very satisfying at the end.
